PES 2011 Discussion thread

@Jimmy is there any other way to play mate? I hit another shot like that from a little further out but it hit the post the dip on the shot was fucking amazing.
Also hit a 41m FK with that beautiful left foot that crashed off the post. This guy is immense even without the speed, which makes him all the more awesome.

Nice video zee, well put together. The close control you were showing with D'Allessandro was excellent and very smooth. Also a big OOOHH! at 0:21.

That near miss was cool, were you able to see that swerve away from the goal as I was trying to curl in the opposite direction but got my direction wrong? It's like a last minute change in direction.

Also saved highlights of a match with 3 completely different goals in 1 match. I'll post later this evening.

Btw, I'm finding cross field balls are better holding R2 and Pressing O.

yeah it gives it more loft, looks good too, more Beckham style. I cant wait to try players like Drogba, Ozil, Arshavin, etc to feel the difference in individulaity and what they can do with the ball.

My only gripe is the heading animations could be better and not enough have been added. They feel like you are heading a flat ball. What is great about this game is you can have a player turn on the magic to get past a player or two then screw the final pass and you are on the back foot again. Brilliant. Headers and a few more animations for tackles and it's showtime for me.

When will the WE11 version be coming out? I might just hold out for that knowing konami and how they tweak it to be better and improving little niggles.

JonMurphy_PES Great news. Xbox 360 demo confirmed for the 15th September alongside the other versions. Only a day to wait now!

wow yeah didnt notice the first time. I reckon if it wasnt curling it would of at least hit the post.
unlucky there zee, thanks for pointing that out i love the little intricate things in pes.:SMUG:

I just wanna join in with all the D'Allessandro love going on.

I reckon hes gonna be this version of PES's cult figure after this demo.

I know hes gonna be top of my shortlist in ML!

Its a good example of how important individuality is in PES when its good,
I find myself always looking out for him and always trying to get him in possesion. this is so true to real football when a team has an outstanding player.

also I work hard to get him on his left foot in and around the box, another great thing about PES- the need to play to the strengths of the individual player. pure class

If only Valeron was still playing!

D'Alessandro is a little legend, glad other people are fans of him :D

I'm so glad he got rid of that stupid thing in his hair, remember it? some white strand of hair on its own with the rest of his head shaved or something :O

Oh btw, how do you guys go about doing Option File updates for your games? did you have to spend like 30 mins copying each file individually from a USB stick to the PS3 Hard Drive? I remember having to do that when I first got pes2009, not much fun at all, any alternative? :(

I'm going to join in on the D'Alessandro love in. I clipped the post with a 41 yard free-kick. Best football game i've ever player. Without a shadow of a doubt.

hehehe, another Valeron fan like me :) he's a legend.

I think it'll be a lot going back to PES this year, but nowhere near the amount of people they've lost over the years to FIFA.

Still a long way to go to bring the majority of people over like Konami used to have.

I'd love to see some Market data one day with regard to how many people convert from FIFA back to PES for PES2011. Will be a lot I think.

Personally I don't think it will be that many at all, only the hardcore football people will be the early adopters of this new PES. But we'll see.

If John dosen't answer my question about messi's dribbling animations i'm giving up with twitter, it's so shit. He never answers when i tweet him.

he even replied to that fool Raiden who hates pes! But i ask him a genuine question and get no reply!

Just for record, I tried a hypothesis last night on the demo, to basically confirm or disregard my instincts that having a lower fatigue level has a detrimental effect on the players shooting abilities. I found that this is certainly the case. It's not that I disbelieve what Konami say, but until I have witnessed and felt it myself, then I cant buy into it. I tested it with both the Copa teams, and found that a prolonged run with a player can cause less power and accuracy. I tried to use the same body angles, postures, distance from the ball when attempting the strikes, and the difference is quite dramatic, and more evident later in the game.

I really like how they have done this, and it answers the question for me about the blue bar above the players heads, and it's visual relevance. I think it's a great way to prevent sprint spamming, and at the same time offers up a great level of realism. Anybody that plays football in real life will testify to how this exact same scenario occurs within the real game. Very happy with it.

I hope to have my tribute to Alessandro up tomorrow, caught some more great footage last night of the little fella, but really now just need a couple of goals to add to the video. He was sooo unlucky last night not to find the back of the net.

It's not real, you know? ;)

I guess you all know that IRL D'Allessandro is something of a nutcase...in FourFourTwo there is monthly a litle feature called "El loco": D'Allessandro was one of the first to feature.

He played for Wolfsburg when they had a fantastic team: D'Allessandro, Klimowicz, Menseguez (all Argentinians), Martin Petrov, Karhan...in PES 4 or 5 i played a fantastic ML with that team...i still remember winning the Bundesliga the last day...Wolfsburg had a draw, while Bayern lost...(which was a litle bit of an anti-climax after a great season). The season after i won the bundesliga again and went to the final of the CL with that team...and then my daughter decided to use my memory card as a toy in bath...

What would be great is if this fatigue level could even be the cause of injuries. In real life I've injured myself quite some times by trying to do big efforts (mainly shooting with power) in the last minutes, being totally exhausted. It's the time when muscular injuries happen easily. It would be great if now and then you could injure yourself when trying to put too much power on the ball being exhausted (based also on being prone to injuries of course).

In my case, I had my anterior cruciate ligament (the feared ACL) injury one month ago in the last minutes of a game, being exhausted, trying to reach a ball.
