PES 2011 Discussion thread

The throughballs as in the last attacker running past the defender and its upto you to time the through pass into correct space for him to continue the run.
In the latest PES even in 2 on 1 situations the attacker slows with the defender almost stopping and even when u do get a pass off the defenders always catch them by the time they get the ball.

I can't say it is something I noticed in either a positive or negative way, I wasn't really going all out to win my games as they didn't matter at the end of the day so I was just experimenting with the tricks, tried a few manual passes, the through ball does now as well have the power bar and it is easy to put too much onto it meaning you are in a chase with the defender rather than it going to your feet, the keeper usually came out and scooped up whatever overhit passes I made as well.

Its gonna be a suck it and see when the demo comes out to answer some of these questions. :))

@ all the players of the MLO Beta:

What about the terrible 90 degrees turn of PES 2010. Is it still there in PES 2011?
In PES 2010 when you're attacking and your player decides to do this superslowmotion 90 degrees turn, the complete attack is wasted! It's an animation what has to be completed, before you can continue to a next one.

Or is it only me what irritates me on PES 2010?
Besided that, I share the thoughts of Jimmy that this is a great game. Still playing it every day with my brother. Still having fun :)

That animation is well gone, nothing to worry about there. Thankfully the principle and theory is still in place, but the new animations, even on the Beta look so much better and smoother and it is no longer an issue. You still cant turn with a defender like you can with an AMF, but it's been dumbed down alot, and the animation feels right now. :)

I have a couple of questions for those who are obviously more informed than me regarding PES2011.Has anything been said about the AI when you play BAL in PES2011, are your teammates less selfish ? Do they pass to you when you're in acres of spaces and smashing the LB/L1 button for a pass ?
Thanks

I'm yet to read any real playtest preview of BAL, all I know is that its has had a revamp, so hopefully this issue will be sorted. I would never expect the ball to be passed to me everytime I request it though, but I know where your coming from.

Also still no news on Master League offine aswell. I mean they system they have in place anyway is superb! Even if they leave it as it is. Thats more than enough. Would be nice to see some news on it though :)

I mean yeah in principle you shouldn't receive the pass each time you call for it but if they can find a more intelligent way of making your teammates pass to you when you're in an optimal position (to score or else) it would be fantastic.
I've recently started to seriously play this mode and I am loving it and if they could correct a few issues it could satisfy me for months

I didn't notice that no. Infact it's bloody satisfying slipping one through the defence and watching your
striker put it past the keeper.
I remember in the Beta I passed a ball through a gap between the LCB and LB for Kuyt to run onto. He took the ball on his left switched to his right and I released the R1(speed) button and pressed the R2 (control) button as he collected then he slowed down opened his stance and poked it passed the keeper from about the penalty spot. He also continued his run as he scored to celebrate. The entire sequence even if a little simple looked so organic and beautiful. Infact the guy that I scored against even appreciated the finish.

If anything the through pass was a little too effective in the Beta but this has apparently been addressed. Chipped throughballs are a little trickier and seemed to be very hit and miss. I will test it extensively once I get the Demo but I am certain stats play a major role here.

I think you were getting too much into the beta :), which i don't blame you. I think were forgetting that the game was half finished, many things were missig and many things didn't even wor properly.

But it was still great :CONFUSE: Yes, stats did make a big difference! Especially someone like Beckham, his passing was really pinpoint compared to others in my team.

Also where do i get this subscription from when i gt my PS3, i don't think i can subscribe to it via my console since i think you need a credit card to do it! Which i don't have (which is good because i would have been killed by now i'd be in so much debt).

Zee, where has the throughball been claimed to be addressed? Is it official or from a hands on?I'd like to read it :)

Klash, Zee has every right to highlight gameplay problems with the beta. If you can't say what was wrong with it then you can't say what was right with it - yet people are very eager to lap that up.

It's not the beta tester's role to exclusively praise the title. Reporting everything, warts and all, is only fair. By all means we can qualify it but leaving it out just because people don't want to read it would be no different from how games mags raise a game in the preview and then award the final thing a 6/10 as a result of issues that were present all along.

I was ridiculously addicted to BAL on PES 2009, I completed everything after about 9 seasons, I really enjoyed it. I never bothered much with it in PES 2010 as it was basically the same thing. I did play on Regular as well in PES 2009, which in hindsight was a little too easy. I think Professional is the more realistic difficulty.

Rom, Darthkebab mentioned the throughball tweak in his playtest preview.

Mate, i wasn't saying he was wrong. I'm just saying that we tend to forget just how much stuff is missing from the beta we played. We get so intricate with details and we all have our own observations to what needs improving what dosen't feel right, what feels wrong. It's not at bad thing tbh.

I mean, with the through ball, the issues which i was wary about was the 'manual' lofted one, i tried to hold L1, triangle and L2 (i thought it was a general modifier to make passes and through balls manual). but instead he attempted a ground pass? Have you noticed this too. Will manual through balls be only available for ground passes rather than lofted ones?

Also on a side not, do you reckon players will attempt rabonas when using the lofted though ball like on FIFA? :)) . I used to love doing rabona,s i even made a tutorial back in 2007.

Also as a PS3 user, is there anywhere i can buy this subscription thing online? Without using credit card?

Ok I am a former PES nut, who left for Fifa in 2008, and now will be returning. I'll be buying both this year.

Excuse my ignorance but where are the list of teams and stadia in the game please? I know the licensing confirmation is next week, just want to know which teams are in.

Can anyone help? Thanks

Also I've been playing PES 10 for past 2 weeks, (I hated it at launch and hardly gave it chance) and despite obvious flaws, is not that bad. It does alot of things very well. As a FIFA Manual player I'm sure PES 11's freedom will suit me from other peoples feedback.

I used to love editing. Tried to add de Rossi's beard which should be straightforward (like old PES/WE's) but it seems it cant be done now. Does anyone know if this full editor is back for PES 11?

Also are The WE games still "better". I know the PS3 can play JAP games, are there still the option files translating things to download, and kits etc?

Sorry for all the questions and if it's been done to death before, I just want to get my head around what is what again. :SMUG:

DarthKebab's impressions can be found in the news thread.

Shot & Stamina Gauge: In addition to the generic power gauge, the Shot & Stamina meter details the player's exact level of fitness. Constantly sprinting will affect the player's movements and will have an adverse affect on his stats, with passes going awry and a loss of pace.

DarthKebab do we have this in pes2011

I didnt saw/see it in the MLO beta demo on the xbox360

Yep, you know the player cursor line above their heads? just underneath that is a another small line you can see usually when sprinting which starts green and long but goes red and short during the game, if it goes red players can also bend over and take deep breathes which was actually highlighted in a cut scene with Cahill after he missed a shot.

Didn't notice if it had any effect on performance though, I wasn't spamming the sprint to be fair.

Teams & Stadia. Spurs licensed. Copa Libertadores. Not sure what teams are in but I expect the ones in the current competition. Bayern Munich.

These are not final. Add a few German and European teams to that list as well, plus National teams, and a few more stadia.

Do you have any info on German club teams? We know Bayern are there but did you see any more (Schalke & Werder for the CL Mode)?

In my investigation into this game, Wiki says they are in with different name, and unlicensed. I am aware this doesnt mean much.

are all the boots still in from different manufacturers if you edit each part?

I didn't, wish I did now but I heard they were confirmed around Gamescom time or was that just a roumour?

There was a rumour that there were some teams in the 'other leagues' section that may be unlicensed Bundesliga teams, but I know nothing more than that. It will really help the option file makers if it this is the case.

Nice work finding those crests. I agree with some of your predictions, the Dortmund and Bremen ones in particular.

I just wondered if anybody had seen these teams in the preview code and if so, had a look at the squads to see if the players are unlicensed as well, or worse, completely generic like some of the 'other league A' teams last year?
