PES 2011 Discussion thread

i think the optionfiles will be different again this year for uk and euro pes2011 games

sorry:CRY:

edit, just saw andersons post ,i stand corrected

Thanks for both of you.

I will go for the UK version than:( another fucking week plus shipping - it's more, than a month from know..

good small Hungarian gameshops braking release dates..

Bah, I'll wait for the 15th to play the demo. No way I'm signing-up for PSN+ and effectively paying for a demo. I draw the line there. The full game isn't out for over a month so I'm happy to wait until the 15th. I think I'm just getting more patient as I get older.

The fact that I'm on holiday until the 14th may have also swayed my decision somewhat! :COAT:

Also I agree with comments saying that PES should have been a Sony exclusive. With Sony's cash and one console to focus on I think the franchise could possibly be further ahead than it is now. Sales of PES on the 360 have been poor for the last couple of years compared to the PS3. I think the playstation is Pro Evo's natural market and has the pull to sell consoles for Sony.

Question: is it worth giving pes 2010 a go while I wait for the release of 2011?

I haven't played pes since 2008 but I'm 99.9 percent sure I'll be buying it this year. Anyways, in the dull month of august I'm considering buying a used copy of pes 2010 for the sake of getting back into the groove of pes before 2011 is released, and because I'm kinda tired of FIFA WC game. And just for the he'll of it.

I'm pretty lazy so I'm just wondering if it's worth the effort. Thoughts?

Please Explain and i want to hear your argument either that PES had been great for the last 3 years or the reasons why not.

You want Konami to focus on Xbox360. Why? What's so good about that platform?

For me, the game was poor in 2008 and 2009. I can speculate on the reasons, but none have anything to do with focusing on the PS3, which they don't do anyway. 2010 was a good game, and was the most engaging game of football I've had since PES5. It had it's flaws, but again nothing I'd put down to what you perceive to be a special relationship between Konami and Sony.

If you had said they should focus on making a game to run on high end gaming PCs instead of consoles, then I'd see your point. Unfortunately that approach wouldn't bring in the kind of return Konami want, so obviously it'll never happen.

Your post comes on aday when it is announced that PS+ is getting the demo a week early. It just looks like you have a case of sour grapes.

Cheers guys. I thought it'd be confirmed by now, but I guess we can assume it'll be the same. MS dragging their feet again I suppose?! I'm with you guys on here, we've waited years for a truly next gen PES, another two weeks is fine by me.

my opinion, no
even playing pes 2011 mlo beta made me understand how fast, stiff, limited pes 2010 is
i simply don't want to play pes 2010 anymore, i give it a try playing one match, but i miss so much pes 2011
unless you buy it at very low price, it's not worth it

Well if you do, it'll be good for just getting you used to playing a football game, like a football game. Setting up your midfield, getting used to playing to your players strengths. finding tactics that you enjoy.

Also getting used to have the AI defensively works and how the player index affects players off the ball

Apart from that, there isn't any point. Plays nothing like PES 2010! It's a brand new game.

I will say it is almost miraculous what they have achieved after playing the beta code, every bad thing I noticed with the beta code has been fixed, I will tell you what as well, despite what the press tell you this is the best moving (animation wise and gameflow wise) football game there is, when you play the demo you will understand.

looking good

Lol u didn't even read what I wrote i don't want them to concentrate on the xbox but they shouldn't have ignored it 3 years Ago and use it to develop the new franchise until the ps3 was ready.
I own a ps3 it's got nothing to do win sour grapes but to do with konami screwing it's fanbase again

Anybody can recommend a patch to PC PES6. I need the latest transfers and kits, I do not care to much about stadia and boots etc..

Easy install would be preferred.

I need some pes till sept 15, but I've sold my ps2 and no way I'm going to put any of the last installments to my ps3 :)

It was me that played the game today so if you have any gameplay questions I don't mind answering, having serious trouble writing up impressions without it sounding like a press release, but fire away. :)

What impressed you the most? How are the Gks, refs, offside and advantage rule, yellow and red cards?

What impressed me was immediately how much control compared to the beta you have over the players, true 360 movement to the point it is hard to go in a straight line, but I played on PS3 and played the beta on xbox, so it may just be the analogue stick sensitivity, you can literally use the extra angles to move past a player without even using R2/R1, every touch feels natural, if you nutmeg someone and they foul you the animation on the replay close up is so realistic, the animations compared to the beta are to put it simply the most lifelike and realistic football game I have played, other games may have more animations but these are used to make it feel more lifelike, think foot planting, weight placement.

Goalkeepers are superhuman, I feared after the beta especially the near post header but on testing this I could not fault anything, they behaved real, apart from one bug where I was drawing 0-0 and my keeper in a normal early season Master League game came up for a corner! but otherwise they play more like PES6, they react quickly after making the first save and induce many oooo's :)

Offsides work as normal but never had the advantag rule situation, I was also focused on testing out the new defending so never slid in to earn any sort of card, plenty of fouls though.

I always use the d-pad when playing pes. After playing the beta i don't want to have to retrain myself to get used to the analogue stick again.

You see?

Ah I get it. Yeah you needed to be more specific :BOP: I agree with you. I don't recommend anyone to play older PES again, if you played the beta.

Nice one, sweet music to my ears. :)

Thanks. I hope GKs are realistic enough, as in realistic reactions and responses, but not superhuman. Also there was a problem with Gks in 1-1s as they always come out at a wrong angle leaving the goal exposed, sometimes even sliding under the ball instead of heading or punching/grabbing it. You seen any of this?

How's the new defending like, since it wasn't in the mlo beta? How was the ball physics?

I don't know if you saw Joe Hart at White Hart Lane vs Man City earlier in the season but think that type of performance if you can imagine how much pressure I was applying in the game, its tough!

The angle issue wasn't a problem, I even commented that a through ball the AI slid onto before the goalie looked amazing on the replays, I cannot criticise them, as hard as it is to imagine!

The new defending is trial and error, back off or stick a boot in, sometimes successful sometime a foul, the brilliant part though if you are tracking a winger for example he will always aim to block the cross.

Ball physics, well I did not notice a problem, it just all felt natural, nothing made me think it shouldn't have happened.
