Yeah, no I certainly did not mean to imply that FIFA won't sell a bazillion gazillion copies, I meant in trouble with me and others who are looking for the best representation of football in a game. Of course I don't plan on making any type of decision until I play both games, and in all honestly I can't see myself not buying FIFA this year, but based on that simple comparison FIFA looks rather poor.

And based on FIFA's reviews the last two years, you have higher expectations for reviews than me.
 
I meant the review bit as a bit of a snide dig at the games press - they'll rate the better game for their non football specific reader base, sure, but not the better football game.

Well, i'm being honest here.:TTTH:

I swear that shooting (at least for THAT particular circunstance I described) feels a bit too acurate). In other circunstances, like when you are player is being pressured before taking a shot is very realistic, or the keeper com close in right time and etc is impressive.

Of course it should be a bit "easy" for good players in that cincurnstance, but I really feel the need of a bit more challenge to it.

But I'm not that worried about that and I'm pretty sure that the game (gameplay wise) will be much.

That reviewer already said how hard it is to score (and frustrating to him), and that's good for us.

I think I'll join to PEEl to play guys on top player ai.
 
Can any one who has played the beta, or has read impressions, tell me if the players feel like they have mass to them? That's one of the many things I disliked about 2010, the players feel weightless. And do you always move at a constant speed, or can you walk? (not exactly imperative, just wondering)

There is definitely weight, momentum and Inertia. I did not think so when watching the 1st trailer but since playing the Beta to death I can confirm that it is there. I still think there is a lot of scope for this especially with changes in direction. Neither Fifa nor PES has pulled it off IMO. But to answer your question yrs it is there but not as full as I want.

The differential speeds is not in the BETA but there are rumours. You can run, sprint or dribble slowly (my favourite) but if you mean a walk to a jog to a run to a sprint then no.
 
Does someone know when the demo is coming?
The sooner the demo is, the more time has to be at modding.

I think the probability of scoring is a bit too high. No defender around to block it, no pressure = almost a goal.

Theo scored a similar goal on Saturday as well but I liked Pato's more :BOP:.

My friends and I call them (and goals from the top of the box) sweet spot goals. One of my friends, a former football player likes to say they are no sweet spot goals in real life but I think yes their are spots on the pitch that are easier for a player to just open up and unleash good shots.

Pato is on his favoured side with low defensive resistance and can just throw everything into shooting hard and low - if he gets a great connection then its on the goalie to get down super quick. Maybe their should be more error in shot technique dont know but I do these shots alot in PES 2010 and it isnt automatic.

What I do find a bit easy is the other shot - same position on the other side of the goal where you can open up your body to bend it around the keeper - players usually dont curl the ball that much but keepers still have trouble saving or parrying the shot.

So? Different opinions mate. If I rate one more than the other that doesn't mean anything. It's just my opinion. Your opinion might be different to mine and theirs. Wait for the demo and make up your own mind then.
 
After the beta hangover, i decided to dust off the old pes10 but is it me or do this game play like it's on speed? I want to see the good in it but after one game it grates me.

Yep. That's why they have introduced the gamespeed option in 2011. Thank god for that. Most hated team to play against in 2010 for me is Arsenal. Not ping pong, Pinball.

I have hammered PES 2010 for 11 months, hours and hours and every night, and really enjoyed it. Then I hammered the MLO Beta, for a good 40-50 hours or more, and now I cant play PES 2010. I dont enjoy it, and I cant play it like I could before, I'm a novice again.

Myself and Satnik aka TheCro from here, teamed up last night for a 2v2 tournament on PEEL. Satnik is one of the best PES players I have played, and we have both done very well in PEEL, but the MLO Beta has ruined the pair of us now. We have both been playing the MLO demo non-stop, accustomed ourselves to it, and now we have literally forgotten how to play PES 2010. This was a tournament on paper we could have won. We lost our first game 3-0, our second game 4-1, and our last game 7-1. Unbelievable, it felt so quick, so constrained.

Anyway, I pulled the disc out of the PS3 and ripped it apart. So now I dont have any football game to play for the first time ever. The demo cant come soon enough for me.

Lol I was wondering why I didn't see you in any of the matchrooms Jimmy I also couldn't get into it. I played one exhibition and shelved my PES2010. I still haven't finshed MGS 3 so I may pop that in for a few days. I just have this bloody gaping hole in my gaming needs ATM. I don't know at this point if that old saying is true. "Better to haver loved and lost than never to have loved at all"
