What if the size of the ball was not coded in the game but instead was determined by the size of the ball model?
Someone with few skills in blender could give it a go. Export the mesh in frosty, increase the size by x% in blender, import back in frosty.

Could you maybe give it a go with a default locale.ini, just for the sake of trying?
 
Ended up switching to default and the first goal I conceded is at the cross and I lost 1-0. Hahah

My game against Spurs last night was so difficult, but not in a cheating way. They pressed me to death (they committed 9 fouls), which forced me to play the ball faster than I would have love to, and of course I gave away the ball quite often. I could feel they were a quality team, like it should. Lost 1-4.

Just after, I played Wolverhampton in a cup game and my pass completion rate reached 86%. I had way more time on the ball and it was their turn to panic.
It ended with an easy 3-0 win and the lion share of the ball.

So far I really like that, teams playing like I would expect them to play.

What if the size of the ball was not coded in the game but instead was determined by the size of the ball model?
Someone with few skills in blender could give it a go. Export the mesh in frosty, increase the size by x% in blender, import back in frosty.

I looked if I could test it myself, but unfortunately it looks lik we can't import mesh files into fifa17 with frost editor. There is a objectblueprint file that have scale variables inside the ball folders, but it doesn't seem to have an impact on the ball size.

It's definitely not cheating hard. Like I was in full control against Crystal Palace and had a lot of chance that I fluffed. They had a good defensive line and they were deadly in counter. There are some matches like against PSG where they were in total control and I got them in a break with my fastest winger. Not once I have felt cheated. Not yet. I played like around 12 matches with these new changes. Honestly I feel like it's the best fun football game out there with the correct patches. Thanks man!

Just that with the scripting disable locale.ini. Been enjoying the game a lot and haven't gotten bored of yet due to the distinct play style of all the teams. I did customize all the teams tactics to make it stand out more.
 
Modding doesn't reach the standard of 16 but it is doable isn't it? Kit and faces can be updated (also added to sme players using the db id trick). The database and the compdata can be edited too.
No modding was there for 17 when it came out as far as I know but yes, the Frosty suite is compatible also with FIFA 17 (and it doesn't even need a decryption key). 😊
I don't know how hard can importing kits over from 21 (is there any way to export data from 21? The Frosty suite as far as I know wonìt work with it and I'm not into FIFA editing that much anymore to know an alternative) be, or even adding 16/17 kits manually for the teams missing them.
I know it is doable with some limitations (as far as I know you can't add a 3rd kit to teams that don't have one?) but all teams,even the unlicensed ones, should have home, away and GK so "texture upgrading" could be done for every team in the game I guess.
I see the data structure is different from what it used to be in 11 to 16 and I'm not very comfortable with hotspots and such, so I'd probably pass on that.

Wow, this is my main complaint with FIFA 19 (teams being too much similar to one another, e.g. Newcastle, Portsmouth and Chicago Fire all playing the ball wide and crossing it in).
Willing to try 17 now with Pap's mod to see how it plays if you tell me that in 17 with mods it's not like that.

Hey! Glad you enjoy the mod! Quite sincerely, this is pure luck. I mean that those 19 files work so well with FIFA17. Also FIFA17 is the only one to accept the attribdb files without crashing the game(I tried it with 16 and 18). I haven't seen any glaring bug so far either.

By the way, you can safely untick th gameplayttribdb mod from your list as 19in should overwrite it.

I added in a couple of kits from 21 to 17 but I haven't adjusted the collars, writing placement etc. I'm not sure the best way to do those, I assume through dbmaster. I'm also not sure if there's a faster way of adding in kits instead of doing each one manually. The frustrating part is the badges as well. On 17 the badges are part of the kit, whereas on 21 they're brought in separately.

I added in a couple of kits from 21 to 17 but I haven't adjusted the collars, writing placement etc. I'm not sure the best way to do those, I assume through dbmaster. I'm also not sure if there's a faster way of adding in kits instead of doing each one manually. The frustrating part is the badges as well. On 17 the badges are part of the kit, whereas on 21 they're brought in separately.

By badges, do you mean the league badges? Cause the team crest are on a separate file.
Editing the numbers and crest positions doesn't seem too hard using the playerhotspotdataasset, just a massive repetitive work though.

I fixed collars and quickly made some manual transfers to get it looking the part. Faces are terrible though haha.

Lacazette face from 21 into 17. I had to keep his original hair though as I'm not sure how to get the hair to work by just bringing in the texture asset. It doesn't seem to work properly. I have no idea about blender either....

The other thing I'm not sure about is how to assign a face to a player without a starhead?

I am wondering if any of the decryption logic changed between FIFA 17 and FIFA 20 for all the file formats. Since its using the same engine I am wondering if there's a way to get access to the number of content we can access with Frosty Mod Editor for FIFA 20. I wish we had access to Frosty's source code.

That would be amazing if possible.
 
If we can get mesh importing I think the hair should be pretty straight forward. Also, I think the Cheat Table for 17 works just like the Live Editor for FIFA 20 if I'm not mistaken, but I can't seem to find it. If we can get that working then theoretically we should be able to assign faces to those with generic faces in 17.

I have tried the frosty mesh tool extension, but I didn't manage to get the mesh convert tool (frosty meshy) to recognize the file I exported. Others people who have tried it with Madden reported similar problem. I am affraid it might only work with Battelfield, at least not with FIFAs. :(

:( If you guys could handle this tiny ball issue I'll purchase Fifa 17 right away, thats the only thing thats keeping me away from this game.
 
So I think it's time to reinstall FIFA 17 because it looks very promising. I read about a LUT file from FIFA 16. Can someone tell me where I can find this?

I have attached a zip with the lut and the instructions about how to install it (two options: reshade or ansel).
There is two version in the zip. I prefer the V1 and so does @Anth James (it is more subtle than the V2)

Did you have chance to try the gameplay mod for FIFA16?

Guys I am too addicted to FIFA 17 especially after @papinho81 patches. Some matches are so difficult especially against good tactical teams but some matches against bad teams are fun too as I can score like 5-0 or 6-0. But there was a recent match against Tottenham that was such a blast. Is there a way to make Champions League as hard as the normal league? I feel like Champions League is easy with teams not properly defending.

Thanks mate, I'll try it asap!

But honestly I don't think that I'll play FIFA 17 over a longer time because of the lack of the modding possibilities. At the end FIFA 16 will be always the game I play. To answer your question: I installed it and played some minutes but not enough to be able to judge it. I must take some time and play a longer session to get a better impression.
