Re: Summer 2005 Officially Completed Transfers

i cant believe tht Owens transfer saga has been so drawn out and complex. In my opinion he is one of the most reliable strikers on the planet and guarentees 20 goals a season. Okay his style of football mite not be an entertaining watch from some of his Liverpool games but his goal to match ratio is amazing. As a liverpool admirer but not fan its sad to see that Owen will be most likely moving to Newcastle a club with all the trademarks of a developing crisis. We need Owen on peak form if we have any chance of winning the World Cup 2006. It annoys me also tht Liverpool spend 7 million on Crouch who i believe to be the most ridiculous striker in the premiership. In an ideal world i would of liked to of seen Owen either bak at Liverpool or at Man U partnering with Rooney. Sky Sports however has stated tht Owen only wants to stay at Newcastle for a one year loan n then join Liverpool. Lets just hope this iconic professional's career isn't jeopardised!

Re: Summer 2005 Officially Completed Transfers

Newcastle havent spoken to Owen yet. And I get a feeling he'll say no. He said earlier that he wants a loan deal to Newcastle.

Re: Summer 2005 Officially Completed Transfers

Yeah a fee has been agreed between Real Madrid and Newcastle and Owen has stated that if he moves it will be only for a loan deal because he is destined to return back to Liverpool. I think Liverpool have really made a mistake in the purchase of Crouch i mean with the 7mil they spent on him they could of reserved for Owen and then could of cancelled out the remaining 4mil Real Madrid owe them for the Owen transfer last season.
