New Kits

Lyon shirt is amazing.
Psv would be better with black cuffs but still great.

And US teams don't rebrand that often, and when it is done it usually has fan support and is an evolution of the teams current colors/logo. Complete rebranding happens when a team relocates.

Looks like someone here has fallen for one of the most elaborate con tricks in modern day football history. Before I get rubbished and get told to stick to my own club's issues (like, finding a new manager!), at times like this when football clubs become playthings for rich foreign owners with no respect for history and in it purely to pick up a fast buck, you wouldn't even wish for that kind of shit to be lumped upon your worst enemy. Why? Because who knows, maybe my own club could be next if it fell into the wrong hands because some megalomaniac owner/investor wants to chuck over a century of history away because the club has the wrong name/doesn't wear his favourite colour/needs to win a Champions League trophy to be happy.

And this investment? I seriously doubt that would be forthcoming Cardiff fans, those Malaysians have had you over a barrel, they obviously told you a pack of lies about the red kit idea being binned, only to resurrect it and lock it in. If that doesn't tell you something about their deceit then the £100 million is just pie in the sky. Besides, if red is such a lucky colour then how come a team in blue won the Premier League then?

Completely whimsical. And that badge gets more rubbish every time I see it, looks like the kind of design seen on beer mats. The relegation of the bluebird to a small footnote on that badge is on par with MKDonalds having "Dons" in their name. If you catch my drift.

Back on topic and in other news, Nike are selling Umbro. I didn't see that one coming!

How does changing a colour of the kit and the badge lose the clubs history? I cannot agree with that at all. We are STILL Cardiff City. United used to play in Green & Gold. Leeds changed to all white in the 60's. Liverpool started in Blue and White.

You can say that was years ago but in 50 years time, this change will be years ago too.

I understand your points on the other things and as I've already said, it's not ideal and I would prefer us to stay Blue etc. but I'm looking forward, not back. Whatever happens, promotion or relegation, I will still support my club... even if they played bollock naked.

I didn't realise you were a member of Cardiff's supporters trust or the board where they have been having all the conversations about rebranding so deceitful is a bit strong a word. You, nor I, don't know everything that goes on behind the scenes.

The badge is still shit though! Hopefully it will evolve into something better as I cannot believe it was signed off.

You've worn blue since 1908, your club are known as the Bluebirds, your stadium is blue, the seats are blue, hell us Jacks have been brought up to dislike the colour blue since time immemorial. So you're happy to accept that? I know if I was a C****ff fan I wouldn't take that at all and would be protesting long and hard until blue is restored or I die of exhaustion. Takes a lot of balls for a Jack to say that, but if someone turned up saying they'd change Swansea's kit to a poor man's Bournemouth lookalikey then I'd be like a bear with a sore head.

Vincent Tan is a conman, he has previous, Google it, you'll be shocked how he's made his millions. The word scammer seems to come up in lots of results. He seems to make Abramovich Al Mubarak and look like Big Issue sellers. He's fooled you once, so you really believe that £100 million is real? It's monopoly money, it's a false dawn, he's got you all hook line and sinker and laughing all the way to the far east.

We know what its like to lose money every week, a decade ago we were on the verge of going under, because of a foreign owner who screwed us up. Luckily we had local people step in and save us from destruction and through shrewd business and success on the pitch, with a little bit of luck thrown in, we made it to the big time. I do admit seeing C****ff in the Prem would be a good thing in a way because it would reignite the exciting rivalry, but at the top table, and would piss the English off that two foreign teams are playing ball in their league, but the derby gives me a buzz, especially when we win. But you're not C****ff City any more, you're just a franchise that has sold its soul to the Kuala Lumpur devil who is rubbing his hands with billions of dodgy Ringgit.

Anyway this is my last word on the subject. Also, some bookies are offering odds of 5/1 that C****ff will be wearing blue at home by the time the new season kicks off in two months. Besides that, we had the Draig Goch as our badge in 1973, it only lasted for 2 years, and we were back to the swan. You had the Dewi Sant flag badge, and that never lasted, so as far as the dodgy badge is concerned, there's hope.

Couldn't agree more. :TU:

....apart from the bit about teams in Blue. Oh, and the bit about the English.

Interesting that the Malaysian National team's home kit is yellow and black and the away kit is blue and white. So much for red being important, huh?

Nudge wink! :P

I know I said I wouldn't say more on the matter, but to stir the pot, some observation: Malaysia have been wearing their blue away strip a lot recently, believing the kit brings them luck after a few wins.

Irony?

Ironic yes, but nothing strange. Even we (Croatia) are more often playing in blue kits than in white-red squared kit, as current team believes that blue kit brings them luck. For example, at EURO08 we played all 4 games in blue.
