Looks like C****ff have changed to red.
Even as an ardent Jack who has cursed and called them lot down the M4 over the years I have sympathy with their fans that their club has been held to ransom in this way by foreign owners with a complete disregard for history. After the original announcement that the plans have been dropped, they've been shafted good and proper. Even Swans legend Leighton James was angry on the radio about the change of colours, and he bleeds white and black! Its a bit like the scenario with Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, but at least they wore white to begin with. Crystal Palace is the only "domestic" example I can think of (I refuse to consider MKDonalds, for obvious reasons), but their change was the shade of colours rather than a complete switch (well, white excepted). Imagine Man U or Liverpool being told they need to change their kit to blue to get a sizeable cash injection?
If some foreign investor tried to change Swansea's home kit from white to some other colour, I would go mad, and no doubt thousands of others would to. This is association football, not some American sports franchise, where rebranding is a common theme. And besides, the badge looks like it was designed in Edit Mode in PES with an image of a Welsh dragon stuck on it.

The badge is awful. Can't argue with that!
Our original colours weren't Blue so it's not as if it hasn't changed before anyway. Leighton James can be as angry as he wants as it has nothing to do with him. The guy is a bellend anyway!
As a fan of Cardiff I would prefer us to stay Blue but it is what it is and in 6 months, to be honest, I won't give a shit. Would I prefer administration and keep losing 1 million pound every week or so and go into freefall or have the debt paid off and play in a different colour? No brainer.
It's not ideal but things change. If it helps the future of our club then so be it.

It's a disgrace. A club sacrificing its tradition to whore itself out to the highest bidder. This is the start of the slippery slope whereby other owners will look at opportunities to mess with tradition to sell shirts abroad.
If this happened to my club I would no longer support them as to me their identity is the club colours and the club crest. If Ipswich Town were to switch to red they would no longer be the same club.
I hope the Cardiff fans respond appropriately.

Their fansites have had to reinforce the message to their fans about abuse, after a lot of anti-Malaysian sentiment got so big that South Wales Police had to issue warnings about racism. Some of their fans are reportedly talking about starting a new club wearing blue (though, they'd have to play in the Welsh league pyramid). There's apparently even some going to the extreme and cutting ties to go and support Newport County.
Those Malaysian owners told them they weren't going to proceed with the red kit, only to force it upon them again. More U-turns than Brendan Rogers and the Tory government combined!

Owners like this only care about money so all the fans can do is:
- Don't attend matches.
- Don't buy the red shirt.
- Don't buy any merchandise.
That's the only way the owners will listen. I'm pretty sure they will never sell more shirts in Malaysia than they will Cardiff, but then these type of people are so deluded that they don't think of that.
Trouble is, I guess thousands of fans have renewed their season tickets before this news dropped. Anyway, I hope they don't just take it on the chin and accept this.
I understand that many clubs have changed their colours down the years. In the early years of football it was quite common. But in the last 50 years it has been very rare for this to happen. Clubs have found their colours and identity and are happy with it. The last major colour change was probably Leeds Utd in the early 60's when they switched to all white to copy Real Madrid.
At the end of the day, Cardiff are now just another red team like Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal. Boring.
As said already, we didn't start off Blue. Liverpool didn't start off as Red either.

lol i thought this idea was abandoned but cardiff are always changing their badge so they fans probably used to shit changing all the time, and also wrexham play in red and are nicknamed the dragons. why does there need to be more teams in wales like this.

Fair enough, I don't care enough about your club to lose sleep over it, but I'm a fan of football in general and don't like to see this kind of corporate nonsense running roughshod over any club's history.
Having lived in the Wimbledon area for a few years I've already seen what happens when a set of fans has the club they love pulled from beneath them.

We are still Cardiff City though. We are not moving to a different area. We are just rebranding. We still have our history. We now have something else to talk about in 10 years time when explaining to the grandkids why we are called The Bluebirds.
I bet boring blue Portsmouth would have bitten somebodies hand off to have this offer.
I'll say it again, it's not ideal but it in the scale of things, it is only a colour. There are more important things to worry about than what colour my team plays in.

Looks like someone here has fallen for one of the most elaborate con tricks in modern day football history. Before I get rubbished and get told to stick to my own club's issues (like, finding a new manager!), at times like this when football clubs become playthings for rich foreign owners with no respect for history and in it purely to pick up a fast buck, you wouldn't even wish for that kind of shit to be lumped upon your worst enemy. Why? Because who knows, maybe my own club could be next if it fell into the wrong hands because some megalomaniac owner/investor wants to chuck over a century of history away because the club has the wrong name/doesn't wear his favourite colour/needs to win a Champions League trophy to be happy.
And this investment? I seriously doubt that would be forthcoming Cardiff fans, those Malaysians have had you over a barrel, they obviously told you a pack of lies about the red kit idea being binned, only to resurrect it and lock it in. If that doesn't tell you something about their deceit then the £100 million is just pie in the sky. Besides, if red is such a lucky colour then how come a team in blue won the Premier League then?
