L'équipe de France aura bientôt un maillot zébré du fameux Swoosh. Pour 42,66 millions d'euros par saison, Nike a remporté l'appel d'offre concernant la tunique tricolore du 1er janvier 2011 à la fin de la saison sportive 2017-2018. Equipementier des Bleus depuis 1972, Adidas n'a pu s'aligner sur la proposition financière de la firme américaine.

maybe, but i think nike just want to sign another "big one", whose contract will end in the next years and that's randomly france after germany resigned. if it's would be italy, they would give the 40m to them.

You are right. Nike Adidas couldn't do anything as Nike really wanted the deal so Adidas just let France go. It was not reasonnable for Adidas to pay that amount of money for just one team.
And you have to remember that was the federation who asked for a new manufacturer and I'm sure it was a done deal, no matter Adidas' offer. The federation wanted money and a big change.
