Hi Evoweb! I bring you finally the Ultimate Pure Football Simulation. The first mod tailored to play 90 min with real game pace and real (more or less) statistics at the end of the 90 min!
It's not perfect, it's still subject to change a lot, and there are TONS of things I would still need to change to make it work properly.
So, let's go, what can you expect in this mod?
- First of all, an improvement over vanilla handling of players and movement. I've modified several things in the attribdb, changing speeds, turning ratios, and many other things, to get a game that where players move like real football. The addition of ant.ini shared by our folk
@Happylilhooman makes it work even better.
- Second thing. A rework over the errors. This one is mostly thanks to
@vivianroberto , since I made my modifications over a previous mod that he had researched with AI. Most of the error values haven't been touched by me, but I made certain changes mostly to passing and crossing. They complement with the modifications also made in cl.ini. The result is a game where doing things while moving, being pressed, etc., greatly impacts the performance of the action, like IRL.
- Third thing. Tactical and defensive reworks. Now the AI follows marks much better, reacts much better, and between this and the rework to errors, advancing in the pitch and getting to score a goal is actually difficult, specially in Legendary difficulty. If you want a fair game, maybe World Class is the way to go, if you want a more difficult challenge, Legend is quite a difficult one. This being said... We've got to talk about the 4th change, which gives you tools to overcome this.
- 4th change. An overhaul to dribbling system. Now dribbling is way more reactive, and in general, both trapping and dribbling by players is much more precise and responsive to what you ask. This is mostly because of the one-touch error slider being set in 25, instead of 50, which allows errors to flourish like in real life, in a less exagerated way than in vanilla game. Now errors are more common, but most of times less critical, and mantaining the ball is really a joy in this gameplay, that allows you to make dribblings like if you were controlling the true counterpart of your player in the pitch.
All this things together give as a result, a much more grounded and robust gameplay, where dribbling in small acres of terrain give you much more advantage than simply trying to overcome by pace (yet you can still do it with very fast players).
Unzip the files with winrar, then copy them in the base folder of your game. overwrite any files that you're asked. If you want to mantain there any previous gameplay you may had, remember to do a backup for the files I provide. Once you've got the files copied, go and regenerate bh with your favourite program for it, I personally use Creation Masters 16, created by
@Rinaldo and mantained until not too long ago by @Rizco98 , big thanks to both of them for providing me with such a useful tool.
Once you've regenerated BH, you can open the game. Open aswell cheat engine and activate @useranth5532 ball physics, you can download them
here , use Option B WITHOUT SpeedHack. I used to use speedhack to get the proper speed I wanted in my mod, but I managed to not need it after I found the correct set of sliders.
Follow the instructions to install Anth James Ball physics. Is not very difficult, but just in case I will explaiin here. Extract Anth James ball physics somewhere. Open the game, go forward until you reach the main menu, alt tab and open Cheat Engine as admin, click in the icon of the magnifying glass over the screen, which will open a new window with severall process to attach, select FIFA 16 process (make sure that you close FIFA 16 launcher to not get wrong), then go to the icon of a folder by the side of it, click, search for the folder where you extracted Anth ball physics, go in, select Option B and then enter 1.0 or 1.7 table folder depending on the executable you're using (most of cases and if you doubt, 1.7) then Option 2.CT file, and accept. Once you've got the files attached, get in the game, and STILL IN THE MAIN MENU, click ctrl+shift+b and ball physics will be installed. I do a small change here, though. I go into the table and instead of using 0.39 in Group 1, I change all the values to 0.372, as I feel the ball size and feeling is a bit more correct, and I feel 0.39 is way too big, but that's just a matter of taste.
Once you've installed Anth Ball physics, here it comes the slider magic. I will be providing MY OWN GAME AND SLIDER CONFIGURATION GEARED TOWARDS 90 MIN MATCH SIMULATION, if you want more goals, or a different feeling, you can adjust here to get the desired speed and play less minutes.
SLIDER CONFIG, IS THE SAME FOR USER THAN FOR CPU
This are the sliders that I use. If you want a different feeling, maybe adapted more to less minutes matches, you can adjust it as it follows.
Sprint speed: You can up this one if you feel like the acceleration is ok, but you could use a bit more of top speed. Have something in count though, even if it doesn't affect acceleration, this slider affects the whole speed thing, also jogging speed. Changing it will alter not only the top sprinting speed, but average speed of every action you do in the pitch.
Acceleration: Up it if you want more of a violent change of rythm. But have in count it will alter how fast players get to positions, as well as animation speed. Is 0 for a reason.
Changing both of this Sprint Speed or acceleration settings will give a much more end-to-end experience, and less tactical football. Adjust in consequence. I have them set to 0 because I don't want any extra bonus speed, and by setting this to 0, you use the speed coming from the true physics and animations of the game, and essentially, you turn to 0 the bonus speed that the game gives you for no reason, just to make the game faster. It'll also have the consequence of players not being able to cover distances so good in defence, so it also helps to the idea of moving the ball around is the way to get in, because ball moves faster than players.
Goalkeeper ability: For 90 minute matches I recommend it leaving it to 100 to see amazing score savers by GK, as you see in real life. But if you play less minutes, you might want to turn it down to 60 or something around, so that the few opportunities you get to score, some of them can be rewarded.
Marking: I leave it at 50. If you want a more relaxed, block centered defence, lower it, if you want a more man-to-man marking and higher pressing, tuck it high. But have something in mind. The more man-to-man pressing, the more space defenders will leave at the back, the more crazy feeling the game will have, and the less tactical football you'll see. This might change in the future, and maybe use lower values (between 40 and 45) to see if it helps triggering off-side more often.
Run Frequency: I leave it at 50 aswell. Lower it to see a much more positionally static football, upper it and you'll have players moving much more often. Lower gives a much slower pace, but to the point you might desesperate cause players don't run into space, higher might give you a much box-to-box football experience.
Line Height: I have it higher so the defensive line tends to be up in the field and hugs the midfield when attacking. Default FIFA line height is too low IMHO.
Line width: 100. I have it like this because fullbacks tend to go too much towards the inside when defending, so essentially it's to counter that. Might have though an impact over the midfield lane and make it much wider, which wouldn't be realistic, so I might test it and change it.
Fullback positioning: 100 because we want those fullbacks going high on the pitch, baby. Attacking football ftw.
First touch control: Now this one is a strange one. I say that my game is all about realistic touches and errors, and I put this one to 25? Yes, because errors are way too exagerated in FIFA. They seem to exist or not. This one balances the higher fail I make already in the attribdbgameplay and cl.ini files, and by lowering, the touch error is less because of player execution, and more tied to simply physics of the ball. Having this too high, makes players have more delay on the ball control and dribbling concatenation. By lowering this but altering the gameplay files, I manage to make that delay much lesser, and general errors of players much more manageable, yet still be there.
Again, all this values are subject to change to your likings. I only give my own preset for 90 minutes and an explanation of why I set it like this.
