oh my god gears of wars rule's the game has so much action i love it but i have to send fifa back as it's the game not the 360

I've just bloody ordered a vga cable as well, for my 15" lcd,as component 720p is all stretched up(can't select normal,Widescreen is default)
Having to play 480p at the mo.Still much sharper than SDTV though.

yo , i am having problems here too.. i am currently using a vga cable but only got problems in PRG3 so far...the game is at a high resolution at the menus and evan at the garage, but when it goes to race, the game just automaticly changes the resolution for some crappy 800x600 kind...
damn update!

I thought it might be a fix for the problems I've been having previously (i.e. if you set the XBOX to 1280x1024, which looks stunning, and you play Oblivion or PGR3, everything is stretched and anorexic-looking, but if you set the XBOX to 1024x768, which looks nowhere near as good, then they look normal). But unfortunately, everything is exactly the same.

I've not noticed any changes since the update, actually!
 
What are the best co-op games out there? I've had an absolute blast with Gears Of War, just gutted that it's all over. :(

thats exactly what happens to me...i have 1280x1024 set in menu and every game looks amazing except for PGR3 , which like you said gets streched... i only got the demo... thank god i didnt buy it, and save this money.. as this blows the game for me. hopefully we wont have any more of this problem with the newer games as we've got no problems with the recently realised titles like fifa, rainbow, GOW, etc..) ..casue PGR3 and Oblivion were older titles. i will be very mad if Forza Motorsport 2 gets this problem!
 
Mine hasn't crashed yet while playing Gears... If you've still got some time left on your warrenty I wouldn't worry just now.

If it is getting in the way of your gaming though, phone Microsoft and ask them what you should do, I'm sure they'd help.
 
i've now got to send my gow back it's doing the disc is unreadable again i may need a new 360
 
ok but i doubt i'll be going to ipswich any time soon

by the way i haven't moved my 360 with the disc in whilst the 360 is turned on
 
The DVD drives in 360s do seem very dodgy. I've only had mine for just under two months and have just had to exchange it (two weeks of Gears was enough to kill it). Gears is definitely the best test to see if your console drive is any good, a new achievement should be to complete the game before you need to swap your 360.

Nearly everyone I work with that owns a 360 is on at least their second one...
 
I would've thought that but we're talking about 9 out of 10 people having had at least one replacement.
 
I had a replacement, mine was an original dec'05, as soon as I went to HD it crashed the shit out of it. The shop would'nt replace it as they are only selling what they were given by microsoft.
After phoning for support my 360 was replaced within a week, without a single problem since february.
 
They now take ten to fifteen day to repair mine has been there since last Tuesday and this will be my third, my bro is on his second.

You have managed to bust another one???? Fucking hell, I hope you aint handling anyones Christmas pressies this year..... ;)
 
What can you do if you've had your console for over a year? Cuz I think I nearly have.
