Game gave me a system on launch day despite no pre-order, and didn't force me to take a bundle either. :)

Jesus, it's brilliant. I'm so glad I got myself one of these, even if it has bankrupted me for the time being. It's absolutely outstanding. :D

I think that the bundles scam there all pulling is bullshit, i just want a prem pack and thats it.

like i said try stores first.

All Game stores accross the country got deliveries of both premium & core packages today.

Im starting to realise how unpopular the core systems are, we still had two left when I finished. Shows how people are getting more clued up about the machine.

As for the Japan launch, its Microsofts fault for bringing the machine out without DOA4. Perhaps they shouldve delayed the machine launch?

I dunno, but I still expect it to do really well when the game finally does come out. Not a console saviour like nintendogs was/is for Nintendo DS, but will shift a hell of a lot of machines.

Stunned about the price slashing of the 360 already though over in Japan. Bit premeture dont you think?

Im going into wigan tomorrow afternoon.

Got the major shops there, currys, comet, dixons, argos, game, gamestation, woolworths.

reckon ill pick up a premium? core at least?

I know i should be ashamed but i got £340 for my core system today so i'm gonna be getting one or the other again. Not really bothered which though.

I might pick one up in the new year, i just cant get excited about any of the games out at the moment though tbh

Although i saw the ad for PGR3 today, looks unreal

Kev you'd need a stepdown and it only plays NTSC games too so not really that good.

December 14, 2005 - One day after Japanese reports sprung up about the future of HD-DVD and Xbox 360, Microsoft has issued an official response.

Microsoft lists two points in response to the reports claiming that it has, as of the 14th, entered into final development phases with Toshiba and other HD-DVD backers to release an HD-DVD version of the Xbox 360 some time next year after Spring. The first point: "Microsoft, in both America and Japan, has not announced anything regarding the possibility of a next generation DVD drive being placed in the Xbox 360." And the second point: "There are currently no plans to release an Xbox 360 equipped with a next generation DVD player."


While the second point may be true, we'll point out that the first point is somewhat of a grey area. Microsoft, both in America and Japan, has made comments regarding HD-DVD appearing in future revisions of the Xbox 360. Whether more specific comments on the matter were shared yesterday with the Japanese press, either in an official context or while everyone was drunk off hot sake, is the question.

I would love to see a next-generation Pro Evo arrive on the Xbox360 and not on PS3 come next year only for the pleasure of knowing that ThomasGOAL would bite down Zidane's bald head in rage... :)

No not at all, its the normal YOU believe everything thats written on the internet! It's rumours, thats all there is to it, so MS come out and say there are currently no plans!

This backwards compatibility crap has confused me a bit...

I realise the Oddworld games aren't on the compatibility list but these (regardless of not being XBOX 360 games) are the two games I want the most. If I go out and buy them for Christmas, what are the chances of them working on the 360 before the spring?
