If you do that, dont you have to download all the HD content you get with the premium pack?

All the content is pre-loaded on the Hard Disk mate, you don't have to download anything except updated emulation software for the backwards compatible games.

ARRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! There were a few Core pack available to buy yesterday night but I chose not to cuz I thought I would miss out on something if I built the premium pack myself.

Man, I'm pissed off.

Guys i need help

Can someone who has a HD on their 360 tell me how long it takes for them to get to the dashboard from start up?

I need to know .. As my HD is fucked - it has taken upto 10 mins to log in to the dash, and sometimes it doesn't even recognised the HD

I phoned M$ and they recommended i format the drive. I have done so and this has improved it slightly. But still takes ages. so i just wanna know if my time now is what is expected or is it still slow.

only takes mine a few seconds to load up.

No, if the reserve price is not met the item is not sold, it will therefore be upto the seller to decide whether to relist, or to offer it to the last bidder at the price it was at, or email them and tell them the reserve price and if they would like to buy it at that.

After a 35min wait i finally got to speak to someone at M$ tonight

He agreed the system is fucked and they are replacing the full premium pack for me

bloody hell! now thats what I call 'pimp my xbox 360'!

The auction is in america, if theres one place where someone would buy it, its over there for sure! :)

regarding stock, you guys need to stop worrying.

Game got re-stocked a few days ago. We got over 20 on Tues. I know thats not a lot, but it shows stock will continue to come through. We should be getting more machines in week or so, week comencing 19th Dec. We might even get some sooner.

One big tip, STOP USING INTERENT SITES! if theres one thing I've learnt over this launch, its that actual stores get more stock than their ineternet sites. so, get yourself some phone numbers and ring stores daily for news.

I'm hearing that these wont be available again till Feb 2006. Anyone know if this is true cuz I dont really want to wait that long and I'm seriously considering one on Ebay for £450 (yes I'm desperate).

So how big is this GAME store you're talking about? Cuz I know a few small ones nearby but not sure how many they would get.

If that's a reply to me Kel, what you mention doesn't really apply as you can only play original XBOX games with the official XBOX 360 hard drive.

If that wasn't aimed at me, well... :oops:

Can't seem to find a hard drive anywhere :( Anyway, next question...

Well, this is my telly :( As much as I wish I could afford HDTV with your DVI and whatnot, I can't... So I have a choice!

Do I buy an S-VIDEO cable and plug it into my 28" widescreen telly, or do I buy the VGA cable and plug it into my 21" monitor?

I have no idea which is best, I understand f*ck all about HDTV, DVI etc. :(

VGA chris is the best lead. that way it will be HD :)

RuneEdge the Game i work in is the Arndale store. Its the biggest in the region in terms of stock recieved.

Again to emphasise that you will be able to get machins before xmas, we had ANOTHER delivery of xbox 360's today. As did many Game stores around the country. I swear, the only people benefiting from all this stock shortage nonsense are the greedy bastards on ebay. Ok, so we sold out of the machines today, but we will be getting more in soon.

People be patient, you will get your 360 soon! ;)

Well technically using a VGA cable you will get HD resolutions anyway, providing your monitor can get up that high of course. So thats an option. I don't 100% know how well the 360 deals with VGA output.

Widescreen is a big draw for me, if I could use our Sony widescreen all the time then I would. It's a tough choice though mate.

Might buy about 3 or 4 of PlayStation 3's when they come out if they're short on numbers, and sell 'em off on Ebay for much higher. The PS3 will pay for itself then. Not too bothered what anyone thinks of that either.

Just played PES5 PC with the Xbox 360 controller. I must say i didn't really like it. I mapped the buttons exactly like they're on PS2, and for me at least it's a pain to use LB-RB (L1-R1). My index fingers lay on the controller perfectly when going for the rear triggers, but the top front buttons are a pain... And i don't like the d-pad much either... :(

It's great for PGR3 though :)

If I was coming from an Xbox controller it'd be much better but as I used the DS2 I'm inclined to agree, it's a bit weird. I keep using the right-trigger to sprint and forgetting there's a button above it, but with practise I'm improving.

Same goes for the d-pad although I still prefer Sony's version with the seperated directions rather than a circle. The analogue sticks are comfy but just not cut out for Pro Evo.

So if you had to choose between VGA on a 21" monitor and S-VIDEO on a 28" widescreen, then you'd choose...? (Sorry to repeat myself but I'm stuck as I want high-definition graphics but I keep reading that widescreen is practically essential for PGR3)
