Why aren't these peeps willing to wait a bit so that they can comfortably walk in a store and buy it without any hassle. Queuing up for more than 12 hours is a bit OTT tbh

Managed to get myself a Core pack. £299 for Perfect Dark, King Kong (this is either going on eBay or as a trade in ASAP. A good game, but have it on XBox and completed it) and memory unit. So I've saved about £30.

In the short term, I'm not fussed about the HD. Would only use it for backwards compatiability and downloading stuff off the market place, but I'm definately getting one as soon as they're available. Just glad I'll have a console tommorow, and be able to play PGR3 and Perfect Dark online.

I'm annoyed I'm gonna end up forking out a fair bit more cash, I said I would never buy a Core. But when I found out about the people queing at Asda, I was approaching rock bottom. The fact that PGR3 would arrive in the morning with nothing to play it on for at least two weeks just had me gutted.

The fact of the matter is, is that Microsoft have won. They've created this hype and have managed to crack people like me and get them buying Core's as a last resort

I think waiting a while is always a good idea, see what the people think of this machine and see what it can do before you buy it. You never know, when you see it you might think its the biggest piece of shit going and its not Next Gen.... or you might decide its a must buy and its woaahhhh Next Gen alright :)

bit off topic but what i'm i better off getting: a HD LCD TV or a HD Plasma Tv, plus is there any difference??

Went down to Asda at 5:45, was told they're all already gone. They must have given out tickets, said one guy queued from 8pm last night.

I'll go into town tomorrow morning and see if I can pick up a core but I doubt I'll even get that.

Pfft.

So.... its out tomorrow here in Italy... I dont have an HDTV, but I want a new console...which would impress me.... should I get this or not?

i got one at 12.01 at my local Gamestation (pre ordered)

back home by 12.30am, played for 2 hours, then went to bed

quite impressed so far - been playing PGR3 & COD 2

games look nice but can't get it out of my head that I'm missing out a little by not having a HD TV

Just got mine but I daren't touch it seeing the prices they are going for on ebay. I have a few hours of serious thinking to do.

Doom and gloom for me since I've got amazon dispatching my requested games and no console to play them on!
Got 1 x 36" high def TV and 1x high def. projector if anyone wants to pop over;)

Considering it's now out i would of thought there would be loads of messages saying fantastic this and fantastic that. Instead it's all gone silent, maybe peeps are too into it to pull away for 5 mins or then again they are all in bed after a late night of playing after picking up the console last night.

My review of the King Kong console game is up today. I was shocked to find that I actually liked the human character models better in the PlayStation 2 version of the game than the Xbox 360 version, and snapped some comparison shots on my HDTV.

Only to find this afternoon that GamesFirst did something similar with Kong -- but the comparison shots they took were pulled off standard-definition televisions.

Long story short, there's not a whole hell of a lot of difference between 360 and regular-old-Xbox when you're playing on a standard-def set. More confirmation that as of right now, 360's only for you if you've got an HDTV.

Or as GamesFirst put it: "At least at launch, the 360 and Xbox seem to be capable of providing similar experiences, at least in terms of King Kong."
