Microsoft Xbox 360

In-store Coopz. Well, it was in the one we went to near Warrington but can't see it being different in other stores. PS3 and 360 both the same price.

This has probably been asked loads of times before, but where can you get MS Points cheapest? (I'd rather have the code emailed to me rather than wait for delivery).

I can't use PayPal (my parents have an account at the same address) so I can't use xboxliveuk76 and I can't just get them on the Xbox as it doesn't accept my card.

Cant you just use your parents Paypal account and give them the cash?

Yeah I did use my parents card on the 360 and just gave them the money, I just thought it would be more convenient if I could use my card to buy the points and not have to ask my parents or use cash.

Sorted now anyway :).

I got 5000 points and just got some DLC for Skate 2 for 400 - are there any XBL Arcade/Community games that anyone would recommend?

Thanks Jay, i'll look out for that.

Most people I told didn't know that there was a free XBL Arcade game, it's called "Dash of Destruction".
You can be either a van or a dinosaur, the vans have to pick up doritos and the dinosaurs have to eat the vans and destroy everything (how could anyone have an idea for a game like that?!).

Not the best game you'll ever play but it's a bit of fun and you can get achievements worth 200 gamerscore.

Microsoft may be planning to launch a new Xbox console next autumn that bundles Project Natal as standard and features minor technological improvements.

The console will be considered a new platform and so be given a new name, according to 1UP's report. It's not clear what technological upgrades there will be, but future games can apparently take advantage of them.

All existing 360 games will be playable on the new machine.

Microsoft's Shane Kim last week likened the arrival of Project Natal to the launch of Xbox 360 itself, harping on about a solid "launch line-up" of games.

The Xbox 360 will be five years old next autumn, when the alleged Natal-based console will launch.

Head over to our Project Natal gamepage for all we know so far.

Ruddy hell. From reading about it does seem like it will be 24 hours too! Guess it's gonna be Snooker and Rock Band for me today then.

upto 24 hours

Just to cover themselves and stop people moaning saying "you only said it would be down for 3 hours"

Steve Ballmer Confirms 'New' Xbox 360 For 2010

Ballmer confirms new SKU, with possibly new hardware, coming next year.

by Jim Reilly

June 18, 2009 - Perhaps all those crazy rumors we've heard over the past week were true.

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer reportedly spoke at The Executive's Club of Chicago about "the role of innovation in changing economic times" this afternoon. And according to TGdaily, he announced the company's plan to release a new Xbox 360 next year.

The system will be "'really, really, close' to an actuality" and was described as having a "natural interface." There will also be a "built in" camera, which is believed to be the Natal device Microsoft revealed at the latest E3

Full article here.

Very interested if it has the Natal built in!

Today, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer indicated that the company would be releasing a new Xbox 360 in 2010, one featuring a built-in camera. That seemingly confirmed a new hardware configuration with the company's Project Natal built-in. Microsoft's official word?

While Ballmer's casual mention of a new Xbox 360 hardware iteration at the Executive's Club of Chicago seemingly confirms a rumor originating from 1UP, Microsoft's Director of Product Management for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live Aaron Greenberg told Kotaku "There will be no new console."

"We're not going to be launching a new console any time soon," Greenberg said during a phone call today. "I really believe he was speaking about Project Natal."

"We want to make sure people know that we're excited about Project Natal," Greenberg noted, "But we're barely halfway through this generation. We're happy with the Xbox 360, so there are no changes from that standpoint. For the time being, we're really just showing a whole new category of gaming."

Asked if Microsoft was at least considering putting the hands-free motion controller technology into a new Xbox 360 configuration, Greenberg said "Yes, we have looked at that, but we haven't announced any details for something like that."

Nor has the company announced a ship date or final name for the motion-sensing camera tech it debuted at E3 2009, Greenberg added.

"We are saying that the Natal will run on the Xbox 360, so there's no new hardware to purchase," Greenberg said, reiterating the company's position on its current generation platform. "What we're doing that's unique is, instead of asking you to invest in a new generation of hardware, a generation that's already well established, extending the experience even longer by adding this whole new category of experiences with Project Natal."

"We're changing the rules a little bit just like we did with the New Xbox Experience," he said.

We've requested a transcript of Mr. Ballmer's speech from Executive's Club of Chicago and will follow up when and if it becomes available.

Microsoft is offering one month's Xbox Live Gold subscription for just one pound.

The deal lasts until 3rd July and can be accessed by anyone with a Silver membership [duh - Ed], according to Xbox Station.

A year's Gold subscription to Xbox Live works out at GBP 3.49 per month, or you can join the service on a monthly basis for GBP 3.99.

My mate got a code online a few days ago which cost £6, while he was waiting for the email he went on the 360 and saw this £1 offer. That's bad timing

Ordered 2x 2100 live point cards from Zavvi, just got an Email from them to say they've despatched one of them, no wonder they went bust!

Those cards are bloody heavy, you try carrying one home when you go shopping. You have to make sure it's the last shop you go to so that you can carry it back to the car.

Ok maybe I was a little rude on them :(

Zavvviiiiiiiiii said:
We have to despatch all of our items separately as they are shipped from the Channel Islands. Doing it this way means that we avoid paying VAT thus reducing the cost for customers.

So Chris looks like you're getting 3x separate books!

Monday I'm going to go buy Ghostbusters, but I am considering to buy a HDMI cable for my 360, I've heard from 2 different people that there's a small diff, and a big diff.

Can anyone give me a opinion FROM EXPERIENCE.

Cheers

It all depends on your TV Matt. I've got a Samsung - I forget the exact model - and the 360 via HDMI looks awful, yet via a VGA cable it's pin-sharp.

Unfortunately there's not a lot you can do to find out what it will be like short of buying the cable and taking it back if it looks crap.

VGA/HDMI are about the same on my Toshiba. I'd go with whichever one is more convenient.

(Unless you've got a Samsung I forget the exact model.)
