Microsoft Xbox 360

Oh yeah, and Blu-Ray ;))

Region-free is cool definately, most games are definately out in the US first. With some games taking MANY MANY months to get to us (Rock Band springs to mind).
 
I was allways getting GTA on the PS3 so that is no biggie.

I really need a new TV and I had to sacrifice one console.

I figured with the PS3 being more of a "Media centre" I would be better inclined to stick with that.

And with everything I have with my 360 I should get quite a bit for it.

I'm sure I will get a 360 again furher down the line.
 
Just tried to recover my profile on my mates 360 only for it to fail again. Tried logging in on my 360 and it says my profile is corrupt on my 360 and I have to recover it from my 360.

This is exactly what happened last night, and it didn't work all night, kept saying the XBL Signup Is Unavailable. Ended up waking up at 4am and trying it then, worked straight away.

Remind me again how and why XBL is worth £40 a year of what MS charge while PSN is free? Because when I had a PS3, the PSN was much better than XBL ever has been for me, and it's free. XBL is a pile of shit as far as I'm concerned :MAD:

It's this kind of shit from MS that makes me consider selling my 360 and getting a PS3 again. Quieter machine, Blu-Ray, free online, region-free games, built-in WiFi, better multimedia capabilities ... definately something I'm thinking of.

The past 2 night all I have seen on my screen is "DagsJT has signed in", every 5 minutes keeps popping up. I think you're just trying to get some attention from us all Dags ;)) :w00t:.

Mate, if only you could see me. I was pretty damn pissed off with it all.

I really don't rate XBL to be honest. It just seems really flaky and I'm not sure MS have enough servers to cope with it all. Apparantly the error I've been getting is quite common when people try to recover their profile.

So now I'm dubious about downloading my profile on any other consoles for fear of fucking up the profile on my machine when I try to sign in XBL. Which is ridiculous really.

If the PS3 had more games, and the games were the same quality as the 360 instead of shoddy ports, I'd definately have a PS3 instead.

This is such an outdated comment - you should be saying "I see ZERO reason NOT to get a PS3".

1) Its a genuine media centre. Ignoring the excellent Blu-Ray capability (best in the market) - I only have 1 Blu-Ray, the fact you can upgrade the HD to a 320gb - legally and easily, and then fill it with movies and music is reason enough alone! Plays a wide variety of formats.

2) Its SILENT compared the the 360 - plus with its good looks, it fits into the home without looking like a child lives in the house!

3) You can install Linux to run lots of PC based apps (and games/emulators) - plus use a Keyboard/Mouse to navigate the PS3.

4) Built in Web Browser - including access to YouTube, BBC iPlayer, email etc.

5) Built in wireless internet

6) Free online play (just as stable, if not better, than Live now).

7) Stylish and more 'adult' front end.

8) Reliability is through the roof.

9) Now most importantly, the games. There is still a tendancy to port poorly to PS3, but thats by and largely gone now. The exclusive games and features coming to PS3 are really something in the next 12 months - Everybody's Golf, GT5, Haze, LittleBig Planet, Home, MGS4, Killzone2, Wipeout, Motorstorm 2... dont think the 360 can match that?


So I know alot of that is subjective and personal to my tastes, there is no getting away from the fact the PS3 is a great machine. The only thing that lets it down is no ingame XMB yet (its coming) and the fact its still not a lead machine yet, means some ports suffer (I would say Euro2008, but some say its the same as 360, some say worse... personally dont know - the demo was the same)...

Dont know why people are still down on the PS3. Maybe its the cost and they find a reason to attack its out of their price range?

Surely once you have the 2nd,3rd,4th... 360 die on you, you know its time for a change! :D

I also see zero reason to get a PS3 as there are no PS3 exclusives that interest me (other than MLB08 the show), I don't care about any of the other stuff, I buy a gaming console to play games, end of :)

What 360 exclusive games coming out are gonna keep you going? Genuine question, I cannot see anything decent on the horizon?
 
But why's that relevant? I already have a 360, so I don't need to decide to buy one, plus the fact 90% of multi console games are better on 360 (better graphics/less glitches).

Nah, I'm just saying - if you get bored of your games, what else you gonna buy game wise?

As for multi-console games, think the biggies are ok arent they? I had COD4 on both, PS3 is the same - FIFA is more or less the same?

Some I havent had so cannot say for 100% certain, but Burnout Paradise is meant to be better on PS3 and GTA4 is supposedly identical. Think Ass Creed got slated - any others?

Anyway, its a worn out argument so I'm gonna leave it there!

I own both machines, and I buy most of my games on the XB360, because I prefer the pad, and there is more people on here on XBL with those games I buy than on the PSN.

I have my PS Exclusives with Resistance, MotorStorm, Heavenly Sword, and also for Region Free gaming for The Bigs and All Pro Football. I played DMC4 and Euro demos on both machines, and I went for the 360 titles because of the pad, no other reason, but as both games used analogue only, the 360 pad won it for me, if a wired 360 pad worked on a PS3, hell I would be set!

I agre, I think the xbox looks much better. My elite looks perfect next to my Tv.

I don't think the PS3 is anything special to look at
 
Hmmm... PS3 is very stylish and doesnt look like a games console, which is why it fits into a front-room nicely.

Each to their own tho!
