Microsoft Xbox 360

Ash I've actually got a bunch lying around. You're not allowed to use it if you've already got an account though, it only works for newcomers.

I've never had a Gold sub, I've lived off 48hr codes...
I would love them when you are free :)

Ash just look on e-bay for the yearly subscriptions - I always do that. Last one I got was for £12! The guy e-mailed me the code straight away too.

I upgraded my silver for a couple of days awhile ago, with the 48sub I got with fifa07. Dont see why not, if you dont pay have a sub you are silver.*

* Eh, what they hell was that sentence about.......

12 month sub means I will be on Live all day, addiction is not healthy when I have exams :(

I'm going to have a clearout of my games I think. For quite a while now, I sit there and look at my games with no motivation to play on any of them. Even buying new games like Burnout and Madden, I just can't be bothered with them anymore.

The only game I keep coming back to is Guitar Hero, every other game I play for ten minutes and I'm bored. I think my time has come where I've just gotten fed up with video games. I've played them for so long now, pretty much every day, and I guess I've reached the point now where I've seen it all before. Which maybe explains why I keep going back to Guitar Hero, because it's unique and I haven't played a game like it before.

I also think a lot of it is lack of patience with games. Far too many games just piss me off when silly things happen which wouldn't have bothered me before. I'm sure FIFA 08 would've been the best game ever a year or more ago, but I play it these days and the flaws stand out more than I ever noticed in a game before. Even PES, I used to acknowledge the flaws but I enjoyed the game too much to be bothered. But I think as I get older, I'm just lacking the patience to have to deal with flaws and quirks. I'm just getting old :(

I guess I'll be a bit more picky about which games I buy in future now, I'm going to have to look to see whether I think I'll enjoy a game once the initial honeymoon period wears off, and I don't think there'll be too many games like that.

How old are you? I've been gaming every day for about 23 years (since the age of 12) and I still don't get bored with gaming ;)

We ain't all the same mate. I was so into gaming before but these last 2 years my interest level has dropped drastically. I have around 8 games lying around and i haven't completed any. Around a week ago after getting paid i thought i'd get myself a couple of games, but as soon as i reached the market i had no intention whatsoever to do so and got me an external HD instead.

I know we're not all the same, just curious how old he is to be feeling he's "getting too old" for gaming or that he's seen everything before in gaming........

I'm coming up to 28 Placebo. Been gaming since about 6/7 years old? Started with an Atari 2600, then Commodore 64 and so on. Owned pretty much most consoles and computers, played tons and tons of games. I've definately seen my fair share of games, different styles and different genres. And I'm thinking I've just reached my breaking point now. They just don't seem to interest me anymore.

Look at the list of games I own in my sig, there's some quality games in there. Yet I have no inclination to play them for any length of time these days. I've had a good run though, I've enjoyed my time with video games over the years. I think it's fine for me to throw in the towel and just become a casual gamer. It does seem weird though, I used to LOVE games, now I'm just a bit .... pffff.

I'm 28 and still love gaming, however I do have other hobbies. I think that's important otherwise I'd probably get bored too. Games are better than they have ever been and I am really happy with my 360 :)

Hehe some of you lot are to old for me, im in college right now im 19, but games are still cool for me , i see alot more stuff coming out this year so its a good as it is so far for me

Hitting 28 in april myself and only games i'm looking forward to are GTA IV, FIFA and PES.

Same here April 17th :) - exactly the same for the games aswell.

I used to play games all the time when I was younger on my Commodore 64 and Amiga and Master system and Snes.

Although I have bought many other consoles after this - I have been a casual gamer for years - I can't remember the last game I finished it was so long ago.

I either get bored or just don't have the time for games that take up alot of my time.

I like games I can flit in and out of. Like Fifa and used to be PES.

23 (and I feel old, just so you know) - still loving games, but not as much. I had a ridiculous amount of games before I got the 360, something like 40 games for every console I had, now I have the one console and ten games (plus the DS, but I only play two or three games on that).

I wouldn't say my interest has dipped, I'd just say the slightest thing puts me off now because A) I've played "perfect" games and B) money no longer grows on trees called "mum" and "dad". Example; before I would buy FIFA, PES and Football Manager no questions asked, hoping that I'd still play them after a month. Now I'll demo or rent everything before buying - even with the new FIFA I'll demo it in-case they decide to do a PES on us.

With me there are games I would love to play - but I just know I will not have any time to complete them properly.

Mass Effect sounded great - but I just wouldn't be able to put the time into it.

Thats why I always play the football games. Thats why I love the burnout games because you can go in and out.

My best gaming experiences were probably on Championship Manager - back in the day - but I just do not have the time or patience now to play it. I can barely get through a season!!

I still have Football Manager but I regret buying it - not because I don't play it, I'll play it once a week or so, but because it's so insanely ridiculously hard/random. I've been through six strikers and it's never the strikers who score the goals for us, it's midfielders. 16 games without a win, and I've tried the default formation, my formation, attacking, defending... Where's the incentive to play it?

That's also why I don't play games like Half-Life 2. You get to a bit, you get stuck. How long can you stare at the screen with no fucking clue what to do? Years ago I would have given it three or four days before I got rid, now I'll give it an hour tops and if I still can't do it, you're wasting my time and your developers should be shot for giving me absolutely no hints.

So I'll play long-haul games, such as Bioshock which I loved, but only if the above never happens. Zero-tolerance policy for that.

I guess for me it helps I live in a fucking hot country, it's a nice excuse to be able to stay in the bed in the air conditioned bedroom either gaming or watching TV Shows/Football/Boxing, helps the wife's into exactly the same things as well ;)

you go to gamefaqs.com and cheat! ;)

I don't see the fun in stopping every five minutes to read a webpage...

I loved the Zelda games - I got stuck on a bit on the N64 - tried for hours. I never went back to it. It pissed me off too much!

I never played a Zelda game again.

I to don't like the idea of looking on the net to find the answers - you shouldn't have to.

JB, I too since having to buy my own house have been restricted to Renting or borrowing a game off of someone BEFORE purchasing it, before when I lived at my parents house I could buy basically anything!! I usually did. Always the latest FIFA and PES and Formula 1 games.

I am very happy with my 360 (even though it is messing about) I still want a few more 'killer' titles to keep me going. I am 24 and my interest in games has gone up and down like a yo-yo. I went through a stage of not bothering at all with games in about 2002 to 2004.

Well, as one of the elder statesman on this topic so far (31), I know where you are all coming from.

I got into gaming around 8/9 when my parents 'took a chance' on an Atari 800XL after seeing I liked the Atari 2600 console. Looking back, I think the 800XL was £250 which must have been a shit-load of money in 1984!

And like most of you, I've owned pretty much everything since! I still absolutely love gaming, but, as a 31 year old with a house, GF and a busy job, the time you get to game is restricted.

Its a shame - I really wanted to like games like Mass Effect (and Oblivion), but the dedication needed time-wise is not practical.

I'm happy to persevere with HL2 as its such a cracking game - the biggest reason I carry on with it, is the brilliant save option - being able to save at any time, means you can grab 20-30 mins and know its not wasted.

Why more games dont have decent save options is crackers - Tiger Woods 07 which I've just got - why cannot you save after any shot? Hell, after a hole would be a god-send...

Anyway, stick in their Dags, it gets to us all - just enjoy it as and when you can and learn to love all of the other things in life as well!

 Its actually quite surprising at my age i can relate to this, Ive never really had the parents who would buy a console for me if i wanted one, rather tell me to get a job :D, anyway yeh i love gaming in general but simply dont get the time to game so therefore be stuck to playing FIFA,PES etc and pick up and plays while i would still like to play the others its strange for someone my age compared to you lot

I have weeks when I don't even turn my 360 on and then when I do go back to it everything feels a bit fresher. I'm a casual gamer anyway, not a hardcore one.
