Microsoft Xbox 360

Raiden to Shoot Up Xbox 360s
Raiden fans rejoice! A compilation of the entire Raiden Fighters will hit Xbox 360s next year. It's be developed by developers who worked on the original games and will get a standard DVD release. Probably won't be a perfect arcade port, but the disc will have LIVE compatibility. Can't wait

Microsoft UK Offering Free XBLA Games...

...for anyone who ropes a mate into buying a 360. Let me elaborate: if you already own a 360, and you manage to coerce someone else into buying one, you'll both get ten free Xbox Live Arcade games. And not ten rubbish, forgotten ones either, as the deal includes Bomberman Live, Every Extend Extra Extreme, SFII Hyper Fighting and Sonic. Remember, this announcement is for the UK only; most other Europeans won't mind since the same deal's been running in places like Germany for months now. Microsoft's charitable/arm-twisting press release follows.

LONDON - 19th November 2007 -Microsoft® today announced it would reward Xbox 360™ console owners and one of their chosen friends with a selection of Xbox Live Arcade titles for free when they too join the Xbox 360 experience.

To take advantage of this fantastic offer, all Xbox 360 owners have to do is persuade a friend to purchase an Xbox 360 console (which shouldn't be too hard considering the incredible festive line up of Halo® 3, Project Gotham Racing 4, Mass Effect, Scene It?® Lights, Camera, Action and many more), then visit http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/10gameseach/gameinformation.htm.

Participants simply fill out the form together, then send off as instructed to both receive an incredible ten Xbox Live Arcade titles, including Every Extend Extra Extreme, Sonic The Hedgehog, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting, Bomberman Live, Marble Blast Ultra, Spyglass Boardgames, 3D Mini Golf Adventures, Small Arms, Assault Heroes and Zuma Deluxe.

"Going into this holiday period with one of the greatest line ups in video game history is certainly a compelling reason for a friend to jump into the world of Xbox 360" commented Stephen McGill, Head of Gaming and Entertainment, Entertainment and Devices Division, Microsoft UK. "However, this incredible offer also enforces the fact we've got an exceptional online service in Xbox Live, which truly does bring everyone together."

Terms and Conditions apply - please see http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/10gameseach/gameinformation.htm for further information.

-Ends-

Can someone tell me, is XBox 360 still giving people problems ?? I.E rings of death, makes too much noise, scratching discs, freezing etc.. ? I had 2 Xbox 360 that were both defected and left me no choice but to return them, so I was wondering if nowdays these newer ones are any better...perhaps the black one..?

People with modded console should be worried because MS is scanning around and banned any consoles it detects with modified firmware.

I'm not allowed to talk about warranties on here, get moderators sending me mean PM's ;)

But then I'm also not allowed to talk about Wrestling either ;)

And for the record it's dodgy disks that are being detected, not dodgy firmware (apparently) :)

Spot on mate.

Just glad I'm legit now.

Got burned the last time.

Still an awful lot of collatoral damage though, this really needs to be addressed.

Has anyone been to PC World and done the "2 for £60" on the 360 games? I'm going to go tomorrow and get Mass Effect but might as well get another game for £20 if I can get that offer. Maybe Assassins Creed or Kane & Lynch. Curry's also do the offer :)

Its had really good reviews - thats usually why people get excited about games.

Probably won't know what it is truly like till it comes out and more people play it.

But if you are into those types of games - then it sounds pretty special to me. (I'm not really into those games - too impatient :) - but I can see why people are excited about it)

I'm not into those types of games but apparently it's so big that it will take weeks and weeks to complete fully (months if you're like me and you play things slowly). That's the only reason I'm interested, because it's huge.

I love RPG games. Baldurs, KOTOR, all those type of games are great for me. I love a good story and being able to influence my character with various choices. Can't wait myself.

My 360 has finally arrived (5.45pm today, strange time - the courier didn't even have a UPS van, he got out of an old mini . He nearly dropped the box too, plonker.)

EDIT: It's a brand new one too! Wooop!

Question; you know the themes you can download from Xbox Live? Is there any way you can preview them before paying for them?

I'd like a CoD4 theme but there's eight different ones, and I don't want to pay for a shitty one.
