Microsoft Xbox 360

An Elite would be nice, but until MS show what all will be available to DL from Live in Europe, I dont really think its worth upgrading too, plus I have a 360 that works!!!!! So I'll stick with it for now.

don't brag about your xbox 360 working all fine and dandy.

It was a post of surprise my good man, not bragging, please dont break tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!

i really want to buy a new one, because of how noisy my current 360 is.

just need confirmation of the falcon chipset being put into the new 360's.

i don't really care if my current one breaks.

If I was a crazy Millionaire, I would pick up an Elite and PS3 and Wii etc all in one day and stop and buy a mega 50inch Plasma.

For now, I'm happy with my Premium, I mean most demos I DL, if I like, I buy the game, if I dont, I delete the demo and if I'm unsure, I leave it there for another play on a different day. A 120Gb HDD is cool to have, but until you know you will be DL big HD movies etc or not, I dont see the need for it. HDMI is cool, cause its simple, one cable, but I'm guessing it's only slightly quieter, and everyone thinking a new chipset could make it quieter may not get lucky. Tis the Disc Drive making the noise afaik.

but doesn't the chipset run cooler as well?

to stop the console from having the overheating issues?

 Me too.

Tell you what, let's start an Evo-Web lottery group. A quid a week, five different sets of numbers and we'll be millionaires in no time.

Or not.

It may run cooler my good man, but I dont think its the fans making the noise, I still think its the drive, listen to the XB360 in dash mode, or playing a DL'd demo or an arcade game, so new chip set wont make a much quieter console.

EA: Wing Commander Arena on XBLA this week for 800 points

Though Microsoft hasn't confirmed the identity of this Wednesday's Xbox Live Arcade title, that hasn't stopped EA from telling Xbox 360 Fanboy that Wing Commander Arena – their arcadey space shooter that borrows the classic IP – will be available on the 25th for 800 points ($10). Longing for Mark Hamill-infused FMV cutscenes? You won't find any of that here, you'll need to tap GameTap for that sort of thing. If you're still not sure what to expect out of WCA and simply can't wait another three days for the demo to drop, then flip through the hefty manual and see if that gives you Kilrathi-scratch fever.

bugger. LOL

Rumor: Xbox 360 gets $50 price cut in August

The Hollywood Reporter, er, reports that Microsoft will cut the price of the Xbox 360 by $50 in early August. THR says their source believes the price cut is because August is traditionally one of the slowest times of the year. That may be true, but our magical source from the nether dimension says it's probably got just as much to do with the megaton called Halo 3 dropping in Sept. 25.

The report really has no new information to bring to the "When's Microsoft finally going to drop the price?" game. The best they've got is an unnamed source. Please, if we trotted out every tip we've gotten on an Xbox 360 price drop we could probably do a Best in Show presentation based on grammar, probability of validity, and firmness in belief. Is the price drop rumor true? Well, we think it's got to happen sometime soon ... right?

Rockstar rep says 'complete experience' only on 360 - plus new screens and details

http://www.gamesradar.com/us/ps3/ga...25111542242077&releaseId=20060313153735796095

It's no secret that the long-ago announced downloadable episodes for Grand Theft Auto IV will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 version of the game. According to Rockstar Games spokesman Hosi Simon, however, there won't be any consolation prizes for those who choose to buy the PlayStation 3 edition instead. When asked during a preview of the game (which you can read about here, if you haven't already) whether there would be any advantage to owning the PS3 version that could rival the 360's exclusives, Simon said, "not that I can think of."

$20 cut in the XBox360 HD-DVD Player, and 5 Free HD-DVDs.

Sounds great, only if I can find somewere to import it from with the 5 HD-DVDs, then sell the HD-DVDs, and so get it for something like £50!

From our friends at CheapAssGamer.com

A post on CheapAssGamer allegedly shows an ad of a "Wal-Mart" flyer -- although you really can't tell what it is -- indicating an Xbox 360 with a $349 price tag. The resolution in the image is complete garbage and it's very difficult to tell if this has anything to do with the supposed Aug. 8 price drop. An even larger and worse image can be found after the break. Although we are working to nail this date and the $50 reduction down, there really hasn't been a solid piece of evidence we've seen yet.

In another thread done by the same CAG poster who exposed the Circuit City PS3 price cut, the Xbox 360 price drop doesn't appear in either the Target or Circuit City flyers for that week. Best Buy's flyer will be uploaded Monday. Just keep picking up those grains of salt as the information flows in going toward that supposed Aug. 8 date.

Got one sweet-ass deal at Circuit City today.
Buy any 2 Xbox 360 accessory's at $19.99 or higher and get $20 off the price.
The sweet part 1600 Microsoft point cards are $19.99 so its basically buy one get one FREE.
YES THATS 3200 POINTS FOR $19.99 Circuit City's are sold out everywhere but they do accept rain checks on the price.

Toys R Us ad shows Xbox $349 price drop
trudrop1.jpg

Well, CheapyD, who runs CheapAssGamer, is convinced about the $50 price drop coming to the Xbox 360 in August. Following yesterday's leaked "Wal-Mart" ad, today the crew at CAG dug up this Toys R Us ad for the week beginning Sunday, Aug. 12. The image taken by UgamerX is still really hard to make out and was probably taken on the sly, but the picture, in the largest size available, does seem to show toward the right side a "Valid Monday 8/13/07 ..." regarding some other deal, meaning the ad is at least in the same week. Also, Madden 08, which releases Aug. 14, can be clearly seen above the price drop image.

Cheapy D says, "When they become available, I fully expect the other retailer's ads to reflect the $50 price drop." Another member at CAG named Speedy, who was the one to expose the price drop for the PS3, typically gets Circuit City, Target and Best Buy flyers early; so we'll see what's really going on that week when he posts that week's flyer information. No word yet on how this will affect the Core or the Elite models of the Xbox 360

Best Buy done with Xbox 360 core model

Gigantathon blurred image - (Image changed to a link to save formatting issues - LemonJelly)

For those hoping that the expected $50 Xbox 360 price cut would bring the Core model down to the Wii-diculously great price of $250, we got some bad news. According to a source at Best Buy who sent Joystiq these images, the Xbox 360 Core model is dead and remaining stocks are all that's left of the system.

The sheet, according to our source, shows the description of the Xbox 360 Core hardware and underneath it is the word "deleted, meaning it is being taken out of the system." The out of stock date reads 7-29-07 and the larger image (found after the break) shows the pref code "y." According to the source, "This means replenishment of this item is not expected."

In a statement from July 16, when we originally heard rumblings that the Xbox 360 Core was over, a Microsoft spokesperson told us in regards to it being discontinued, "No. Xbox 360 Core remains an important member of the Xbox 360 family." Well, if the Best Buy papers end up being true, an important part of the family is about to swim with the fishes. Like Fredo from The Godfather, it breaks our hearts. We've contacted Microsoft to see if they'd like to revise their "important member" statement.

embrace, I made a slight edit to your post.

It would be very interesting, and welcome, if they do get rid of the core. It makes sense to me from a business perspective and for the platform as a whole moving forward.

I've just come on to recommend Pacman C.E. (Championship Edition). I usually can't stand the Arcade games but I absolutely love this, can't stop playing it.

Circuit City flyer shows Xbox 360 price drop on all systems
ccproof-js.jpg

In the wake of the Wal-Mart flyer and the Toys R Us flyer, now comes the Circuit City flyer sent to Joystiq showing that beginning Aug. 12 the Xbox 360 premium will be $350, the Elite will be $450 and the Core will have a $20 break and be $280.

This still doesn't explain the fate of the Core once these units sell out, but the Xbox 360 price drop is looking more and more legit. Plus, if you purchase at Circuit City, it looks like you'll get Rockstar's Table Tennis for free. Don't forget to pick up your 3200 worth of MS points for $20 at Circuit City this week too.

Yeahy! I got this email yesterday:

Your Xbox Video Game system has been shipped! You can expect to receive it in 2-5 days.

Can't wait. It's been over 3 weeks.
