They dont need to do that as the PS3 has had no price cut. Elite at worst should be £299.99 as with all the add ons the new PS3 pack(especially the bundles shops are doing)looks good value.
 
I think I'll wait for the Falcon chipset to come along in a few months and I may buy another 360 then. The quieter CPU and redesigned board is interesting and hopefully will iron out the 360's worst flaws.
 
Play were selling the Premium at 230 or 240 recently, not sure they still are though.

X07 isn't happening, UK will get own non-Euro event

We had X06 last year, so one would naturally think the European Microsoft event, which has existed since 2001 (let's not talk about 2004, k?), would give us the next digit and we'd be up to X07 -- alas, it is not to be. Aaron Greenberg says there will not be an X07 this year and that they've got something else in store.

There's still no word on what this means for the Euro Xbox faithful, but GI.biz received a statement from an Xbox representative confirming that there is no X07. The rep said they're "looking at doing something here in the UK. It will be from a UK point of view, not from a European point of view." And all the Americans in the room cover their mouths like little school girls and try not to laugh. What does that mean, a "UK point of view"? This UK-fashioned event will apparently happen before Father Christmas shows up. So, what about the rest of Europe, should they expect an impressive showing at Leipzig or is MS making their stand in the UK against the PS3 and Wii armies marching across Europe? A "UK point of view"? Really ... did they really say
 
Why is it bad news? I dont care who sold what really, has anyone played The Darkness stole it off a mate for a while must say its a great game.
 
Microsoft faces second class action lawsuit over scratched discs

In the second such lawsuit to be filed this month, Microsoft is facing legal class action due to the Xbox 360's reported inclination to scratch game discs. According to InformationWeek, the suit alleges that "Microsoft improperly and/or negligently manufactured the Xbox 360 console in a manner that causes the expensive game discs ... to be scratched, rendering the games unusable."

Though this would normally come as a relief to owners of Tenchu Z, plaintiff Christine Moskowitz was most displeased when the Xbox 360 she purchased for her son wrecked copies of Gears of War, Crackdown and Saint's Row. A second plaintiff, Dan Wood, claims that his system ruined a Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell disc. The California court filing hopes to see no less than $5 million in damages go towards affected Xbox 360 buyers.

The suit blames the Xbox 360's "numerous hardware defects"on "Microsoft's rush to market," a decision that is said to have been detrimental to consumers. While the recently announced 3-year warranty program covers general hardware failures (signaled by the Red Ring of Death), it does not cater to issues of disc scratching, which Microsoft insists are not significant in number.

are you forgetting the 360 is owned by microsoft one of the biggest brands in the world?

Xbox division has $1.9 billion loss, blame red rings

For Microsoft's fiscal year ending June 30 the division which includes the Xbox posted a $1.9 billion loss -- $1.2 billion of that was from the fourth quarter alone when Microsoft owned up to the Red Ring of Death issues. The division actually climbed 28% over the year and may even be profitable soon according to Microsoft entertainment division lead Robbie Bach, who sold millions in stock just as the Red Ring of Death warranty issue broke -- but, that's just a coincidence.

Microsoft says it shipped 6.6 million units of the Xbox 360 and now has a base of 11.6 million and manufacturing costs for the Xbox 360 continue to decline. They also say that revenue in games increased 19% to a total of $650 million. They're also expecting a blockbuster holiday with that little game called Halo 3 coming out along with some other highly anticipated titles. If it weren't for the RROD debacle Xbox wouldn't have actually had such a bad year. Now we wait for the price drop.

Back on topic ive just got a Nyko Intercooler to prolong my 360's life... Well Hopefully anyway!

Fine by me. I believe its the actual amount of posts you make as opposed to the content of them, maybe you should spread out your wisdom more sparingly

Those Intercooler things are proven to fuck up more more 360s than they have saved from what I have read, good luck with that

I wont be, I might just upgrade the Hard Drive and get one of those HDMI connectors that JB showed earlier.
