Is downloading tvshows illegal though? I mean what are they gonna say, "no you can only watch if you record on your video/hdd or live. Otherwise bad luck!"

As with sharing songs or movies, it is illegal to swap TV shows online. But unlike the music industry, which has sued more than 2,500 people for trading songs, no one's been sued for putting TV shows online. Industry executives say that's under consideration. The industry also is pushing legislation that would scramble TV content, making swapping impossible.

Yes, thats different. Its like how people say its illegal to download a game even if you own it but its ok to have a copy that you ripped yourself. Cuz the moment you buy it, you can now do what you want with it.
With TV shows its the same thing cuz you pay a TV licence which means you own whats shown on your TV screen. Downloading it from somewhere would still be illegal even if you own that show on DVD or whatever cuz the downloaded show wasnt captured/ripped by you.
 
Isnt this the Xbox 360 thread? If I was you id make your own thread to discuss the downloading of TV Shows....

The music indutry has gone one step further and made ripping your own cd (for protection against cd rot for older cd's) illegal aswell. W@nkers.

So has anybody's box died recently? Havent heard much lately in here.
 
I can't believe the amount of problems that people on this site have had with the 360. Seems like you shouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Thank god I don't have one, I couldn't face all the aggro.
 
I love mine use it loads more than the Ps3 and Wii, i'm just worried about it fucking up again for the fourth time.
 
My 4th machine is due to explode soon, mark my words
 
If I didn't have a 360 then I wouldn't be much of a gamer. I've not touched the Wii since I got it, I've not touched the DS since I finished Pokémon Diamond and I've not touched the PS2 since Christmas (it's worth keeping for Buzz-fests at party times). The 360 I was on almost every day, with Gears Of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, UEFA CL, even World Championship Snooker.

Until it broke. :(

But it's still the best console out there so far, in my opinion. I'm tempted to get a PS3 with the 360 breaking down, but looking at the games schedule (bar MGS4) I have no desire to switch.
 
My 360 is still fine, 11 months on. But I don't play it much, I'm not an addict LOL!

I've got a life ;)

My 360 was going fine for the first nine months I had it - presumably cos I didn't play it much. As soon as I start playing it for extensive hours when I got Gears of War and Rainbow Six, the 360 starts crashing and boom...it went :(
 
My 360 is still going strong after I got it in December 2005. Ive had the odd little issue over the last year and a half but it still works fine..

Works fine here, although im that busy that i havent even been on it for the last month or so. Ive had prg3 hang a couple of times when moving to the garage to select a car. Other then that its been fine. Have had it since sep06 so forza2 will be a good test for it to see if it lasts within the warrenty period.

Thats in the game mate, very annoying, but the game is mint otherwise, bar online which just aint as good as PGR2

So thats a coding prob and my box is still good? Thats good, see how it lasts with forza2.....my holidays start on the 18th and last till beginning of september. That should make for some good endurance testing.
 
Bloody hell, it's worth £8!!

EDIT: Okay, I'll go into more detail. It's a good little game, like a cross between Mario 64 and Oblivion. You're in a fantasy world (the graphics are amazing, literally like a Disney film) and you have the ability to morph into these different characters with special abilities. It kept me busy for a month or so. I'll buy it back myself for £8, that is an unbelievable deal.

EDIT 2: Or at least I would have if it was multi-region, damn it...

I was looking at the 360 release charts today (looking at where my money is going to go over the next three months), and noticed GTR in the lineup. I started thinking to myself, "uh-oh, they are the kings of racing simulation and I've just gone and pre-ordered Forza 2" - well, for those who are interested in GTR, brace yourselves and READ THIS.

Abandoned for Juiced, dude, seriously... Not cool.

Nice one Jack. I have ordered it and as for GTR, yeah I gutted this has been cancelled. from all the reviews I have read on the PC version it seems too be the best driving sim around.
 
My 360 is acting up again, the Halo 3 beta is what keeps me going back :D But the disc tray isnt coming out the first time, pretty much ALL the time, and im finding it to make more noise than its usual hoover noise lol, and the fact it takes ages loading things, thi is my 3rd XBOX since last januaruy, hopefully wont need a 4th lol :D

And oh yeah, Kameo, I reckon it was a great game, loved it, you can get upgrades for your spirit things and stuff, the amount of people on one screen at times is phenomanol, and the graphics are lush, nice and vibrant, and dull and creepy to suit the location, really good game, got it with the 360 and still got it now :D

I've just got a new 360, and I'm noticing problems that I didn't have on the old one.

For example, when I play the Forza 2 demo or the (absolutely dreadful) Dirt demo, the FMV at the start of the demo will, after passing the developer/publisher FMVs and reaching the game intro FMV, freeze for a few seconds (as if it can't read the disc - but this is being played from a hard drive).

Is that normal for these newer 360s?!
 
It may be a corrupt installation - or maybe the HDD is badly fragmented? Either way, download another demo and see whether the same happens (ideally one that has a FMV intro). If the same happens, you'll have to get it checked out :(

I don't wanna sound that I'm hatin, but my experiences with the 360 is that you solve one problem, you get another.

Got my 1st 360 replaced due to constant crashing. New one doesn't crash, but random artifacts show up when I play PGR3 - this didn't happen with my previous 360.

I can't remember the last time I've had problems with a electronic device so regularly - I've been quite lucky I suppose in the past. It's a fantastic system, but the quality of the 360 is shoddy...very shoddy :(
