I wasn't worried......\\:o/ \\:o/ \\:o/

Johnson injured for Man U game.

Having scan next week. Get in.

If we beat Man City & Everton, we win the league. We can the lose to Chelsea.

Also Chelsea play Arsenal same day we play Man City.

good old newcastle, newcastle had more chances than chelsea, i was a bit worried after yesterday but its all good now

yeah at old trafford, im glad im gonna be at that game, looks like its the game when we could win the title

If you look at the remaining fixtures now and guess each one's result (being very generous to the opposition in-case they can pull something off):

Man Utd: Everton (D), Man City (W), Chelsea (D), West Ham (W)
Chelsea: Bolton (D), Arsenal (D/L), Man Utd(D), Everton(D)

8pts v 4pts/3pts. Even if you say Chelsea will beat Bolton it's 8pts v 6pts/5pts. Man U have the better run-in.

I think today was Chelsea's best chance by far. Even if Chelsea beat Man Utd when they play eachother, Man Utd will beat West Ham (surely) and then that will be that.

Come on! Thank you Newcastle. I don't expect to batter Everton at Goodison but we should beat the Shiteh. Everyone talks about the match at Chelsea as if it's a foregone conclusion that they will beat us! Why? We are capable of going there and getting a draw and even (yes, we could) get the 3 points! Imagine that - first team to beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this season: Man United! :)

As I said, "being generous". Bolton can play with the big boys, Arsenal are one of the big boys, Man Utd are the biggest big boy and Everton are the same as Bolton, pushing onwards and upwards. Whereas Man City and West Ham... Well... I like West Ham, but... You know.

Of course I don't actually think Chelsea won't win another game until next season, but if all of those teams played to their potential and Chelsea had bad days (they are under pressure), then it's not impossible.

ha ha you lot are priceless.

watching both of you this weekend you could be forgiven in wondering what all the fuss was about, both played like mid table sides.

your on glue mate, we played the best football all season, so we aint playing well at the minute, liverpool and arsenal played crap for most of the season, just look at the gap between 2nd and 3rd, us and chelsea have had a lot more games than liverpool have, i think chelsea will draw at arsenal and we will draw at either everton or city, but i think we have enough left to win the title

If you go on the quality of the football that the teams play then Liverpool should be rock-bottom!

Stop clutching at straws, Chelsea AND United are better than you and everyone (except the Scousers) know it.

im laughing at your mood swings from 'glory be' to 'despair'. I actually think you are wrong. the league suggests that you have been a lot more consistent this year, but i dont believe theres as bigger gap as you believe between Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd and Liverpool. We've smashed Arsenal in the league, they have smashed us, Chelsea and united nicked points against us, but we took Chelsea to the cleaners in the league. Arsenal put United to bed twice this year.

Its just consistency thats all and that can be rectified.

if you think liverpool play poor football then your on crack. This isnt the houllier days my friend.

Its because we are an attacking side that teams adopt 4-5-1 every week. We just need to unshackle Alonso a bit. Pennant is also settling now and starting to show his worth. Kuyts got 13 goals in his first season, 12 in the league, not bad for a first timer, where we have lost out is the poor form of Gerrard this year and the settling of six new players into the squad.

No we are not a million miles away, and to be honest if we were i would say so.

Don't bother mate, ALL rags (without exception) are stupid. They will never accept that they aren't the best team in the world. They conveniently forget that LFC are much more dominant in Europe when it suits.

Wankers the lot of them. I hope Chelsea do them proper.

lest we forget that we've never beaten City at the CoMs

Antred I agree with you, you are not a million miles behind United & Chelsea but wasn't the Scousers on about the same thing at the end of last season and that wanker, Phil "Liverpool are better in bed than my wife" Thompson was on about you lot going for the league in 06/07! We hear it every year but the only consistent teams over the last decade domestically have been United, Arsenal and of more recent times, Chelsea.

Quiet Riot: You are the same as every scouser I meet, you lose a match or an argument and it's "Yeah but we have won 5 European Cups!" You are right, that is some record but how many have you won in recent times? ONE (and that was after a penalty shoot-out). How many times have you won the league in recent times? NONE. You are NOT the team that everyone fears like back in the 70's/80's. Liverpool are a VERY GOOD team, not an excellent one.

3 things:
1. If United aren't the best team in the world at this exact point in time, who is?
2. Last time I checked, United are exactly equal in terms of Europe as of right now. If your argument is over the last 50 years, fine, good play on you, you've got good history. We're both in semi=finals thi week, so I'd say United aren't doing too badly.
3. The only reason that it hurts so much each year is because you guys clime so high during the summer months when it's all talk. Then you have so far to fall when Liverpool just don't deliver in the league. Sorry, but it's true. Next year you'll probably be better than United, wouldn't surprise me at all. But for f*cks sake let us enjoy the season. Beginning of the year I'm sure you were laughing and enjoying all the pundits who predicted us at the bottom of the big four, with a poor season by United standards. We've had a hell of a run, so damn well are saying we're the best. For maybe the last time in the forseeable future, it might be true!

haha. You idiot rags, I'm not even a Pool fan.

WOW!!!! And you've won...one. With 2 typically jammy Ushited goals at the end. Wankers, the lot of you.

It's a fucking hell of a lot more than you've ever won you bitter blue twat, go and crack one off over your fat franny lee and colin bell end posters. City are a massive team.

mate your not the only one. We SHOULD have challenged this year, the fact we havent is failure, but i dont think it makes us out to be bad. we had a poor start to the season which left us playing catch up.

But if you support Arsenal, Chelsae, United or Us you have to believe every summer your gonna do it. Personally last season we were nearly there in my eyes, we had a good blend, we went on two massive unbeaten runs, we needed one or two faces for this year but brought in 6 and let a few go, i think thats why we struggled pre season and opening season.

What you have to rememebr is football goes round in cycles. United were dominant in the ninties, spattered with some Arsenal dominance, but in the eighties and 70's it was mostly Liverpool and the odd dark horse. All teams have their time and their dominance ends, mostly due in part to the 'cream' players hanging up their boots. We couldnt compete in the 90s for a few main reasons. Firstly a team consisting of Rush, Beardsley, Barnes, Houghton, McMahon, Hansen, Gillespie, Whelan and Molby got old and we couldnt replace them all, and secondly our chances of replacing them where dashed when we got Souness in. So basically you need a really top , top manager to come in and carry on the good work. We were fortunate in years gone by because we had Shanks, then Paisley, then Fagan, then Daglish, all supremely talented and motivated managers who had an eye for picking quality players.

Personally i think what happens at United in the next few years is gonna be key to if you have a barren 'wilderness' spell, because you'll have to replace Ferguson and thats a job and a half. To find someone as motivated and as skilled a man manager as he will take massive doing as will replacing Neville, Giggs, Scholes and Solskjaer, players that are hard to replace. We managed it in bits and bobs, with Fowler, McManaman, Matteo and Owen, but we never had enough quality.

Football is weird you can be king of the hill one minute then off it the next.

Antred, I couldn't agree more with you. Good post. Replacing Fergie is gonna be nigh-on impossible if you ask me.

In other news, Ronaldo has won PFA player of the year award and I put £100 on him getting it 2 weeks ago (at 5-1 odds!). Happy man tonight! :)

Fair play. he has been the form player all season. :applause:
