Manchester United Thread

thats only to be expected though

can't have referees upsetting slur alex, made me laugh with the united fans booing the ref at the end especially after he'd gifted them a point

Well he touched the ball. End of.

Played crap yet again. We need a striker asap, we got to sell Saha, hes unreliable

:applause:

No he didn't. Nowhere near.

Whatever mate. Boring now.

TV replays showed he did. Sheff Utd one was a pen. I understand if someone on here actually said the ref could not of known but no one has.

Get over it its done.

:lmao:

Take off your red specs.

Have 20-20 vision mate.

So both pundits are wrong? Deluded mate.

Poor performance. The ref couldnt see it, asked the linesman he said no.

Realy Really slow replay shoed he touched it.

Game done now, i cant see us beating Everton or Chelsea.

May have to rely on Arsenal doing us a favour.

Damn it!!! It proves we need more than 2 players.

Well given the point point advantage over Chelsea (hence they win tomorrow) at this stage of the season I would have taken it at the beginning of the season, its all to play for now in this later stage of the season it really does feel all or bust in the league. I feel that the FA Cup final will go down to which team performs on the day. Looking at the Champions League Im not convinced at all despite the 7-1 win over Roma, losing Ferdinand for god knows how long is a huge/massive blow, I feel that anything could happen from now until the end of the season, it really is tits or bust or as Fergie calls it squeaky bum time!

In some ways it makes you think maybe Chelsea deserve gaining some points on us for the injuries they experienced themselves. This is only balancing things out. If we dont win the title, its simply because we didnt deserve it. I dont want to look back on it and think we only won because of Chelsea's injuries.

BTW, Is anyone else getting annoyed with the lack of height that Ronaldo gets on his shots on goal? And what about his freekick style? He just blasts the ball and hopes for the best. He could have been blindfolded and the results would be EXACTLY the same.

He's got this different way of striking the ball where he positions the ball specifically so he hits the ball where the air-hole is, to make the ball move through the air. It's really hard to get perfect but he has scored using it. Btw, if it wasn't for the lack of height on his free-kicks, we wouldn't have won at Anfield. :lmao:

Anyway, we've got to rely on Chelsea dropping points now, which looks an impossibility at the moment. Either that, or we go to Slumford Bridge and win the title. We've still got to beat Everton and Man City even before we play Chelski, so if we're gonna win the title, we're gonna do it the hard way - The United Way.

I can't believe we've thrown the fucker away, honestly, it was an impossibility a few weeks ago.

why the hell didn't they take Rio off before the goal happened, for fucks sake

I prefer the normal way that Giggs uses by simply curling it to the opposite side of the keeper. (I make it sound easier than it is.)
Anyway, its not just freekicks, its his normal shots on goal that bother me the most. His shots never seem to go above waist height where as in the past, he'd go as high as the crossbar. There have been many times this season where I thought he would have scored if he got some height on the ball. And the problem wasnt that he missed, its just that he wasnt trying to get height in the first place.

I see what you mean. Anyway, I saw a replay of the penalty incident and Dead Man is right, he did make contact with the ball.

Chelsea are unbeaten in all competitions since they lost to a certain team called...Liverpool. That was back in January, 20 games ago. The Chelsea team have this resilience and determination that is almost as good as that of the United treble winning team. They never give up and score so many after the 80 minute mark, a quality which United unfortunately lack, otherwise we would have won games like Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Newcastle. We need to show that strong determination that Chelsea have if we want to win the league.

I think Chelsea's style suits the English league better than ours. They are extremely powerful and I can see Liverpool going the same way. We have a very good balance of skill, spped and power but can sometimes be muscled out a little like Arsenal.

I think we can still win it if we avoid defeat at Chelsea, but our defence looked like an accident waiting to happen after Rio went off (and just before).

Is it me, or has Ronaldo "slowed down" a bit since his contract renewal?

He can't shoot free kicks to save his life, i can't understand how he's allowed to shoot so many...

I am agitated like many of us are.We now look lightweight to face Milan this Tuesday.I am not too sure of our makeshift back like too.Like Sir Alex said,we will be severly tested. We can win if we unleash the "Anti-Italian Blitzkrieg" tactics used on Roma.Other than that it will be hard of us.I'm hoping for the best.

you lots looked lightweight before the Roma match too...Arsenal will batter Chelsea at the Emirates (Grudge Match) so stop the kicking -n- screaming ...who has scored more goals this season ;)

Here's the video for those who havent seen it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CFzfgGlVRw

I can see why the ref didnt give it, as when they are both on the floor the ball is going away from goal and in the same direction as oshea was moving. And with the ref being behind oshea its not really surprising it wasnt given.

So both pundits are wrong? Deluded mate.

Is the pundit you are refereing to redknapp, who says:
redknapp said:
"It's not a penalty. Look: he gets the man first and then the ball."

Doesnt really back you up does it? Redknapp is an idiot, i wish tv compenies would get some decent commentators in instead of the shower we have now. Cant stand motty when england or manu are playing. Here's an example of the idiocy: "Oshea gets the ball of van de sar, he plays it up to carrick, who passes it short to ROONEY!!!!. With rooney standing still in his own half  tosser.

And another point, if you need a really really slow motion video to see that he touched the ball (with him clatering into the man being obvious from all points of view) it means neither the ref nor the linesman could have seen it, again making it a bad decision. But as i already said, from the ref's position it looks like he did win the ball.

I was at the game yesterday and we didn't boss it like I expected us to - Boro are such a bogey team for us. They set up shop well and did the job. Still top, still MUCH better goal difference. I am worried about our stretched squad, we really can't compete with Chelsea's depth.

This is gonna go ALL the way. :)

Papers saying Saha plus money for Berbatov.

Please let it be true. Heres hoping we get both Bale & Hargreaves, they are both bettre free kick takers than Ronaldo.

Also Bale will be a better alternative to Heinze who has looked poor IMO.

Heinze has looked very clumsy this season, strange. :-k
Good thing he's fit though with the injury problems we're having. He's a very good defender, definitely one of the best tacklers at the club, and you could also say one of the best at heading as well. He lacks the pace of Evra but is a better defender than Evra. He's not that clumsy is he?
