Portsmouth away today. I hate going there, their fans are truly awesome supporters (apart from the guy with that bloody cow bell :)). I really hope we don't lose points.
 
This is the weekend we can win the premiership. A victory puts it almost beyond doubt, whereas a loss would very much bring chelski back into it. It's times like these that determine things, wedged between CL games, a tough away fixture, Chelski probably being back within 3 points...we'll see what the team is made of. I really believe a victory at Pompey should ensure the cup is coming back to where it belongs.
 
Even if we do lose, we still need to slip up two more times. But you're right, a win here would really hit Chelsea.
 
Saha should be back today to start upfront with Rooney.This would be our proper pairing.It should be our strongest team albeit Vidic and Neville.We should win there.

As SAF has said, bit strange that spurs have to play an early kick off after playing an away game on thursday, wonder who would'nt let them change it......

Big day today, I expect chelsea to win so it puts it on our toes for the pompey game...

Good to see Saha back, fingers crossed he makes it to the end of the 1st half without getting injured.....

Half decent result in Rome, gotta say tho, all I'm bothered about is The Prem, we are still along way off from winning that we really dont wanna throw it away now, it would be fuck up of legendary proportions!!
 
Obviously alot has been made of the Roma game, or should I say the trouble with the fans..

Which to be fair glossed over how bad we we're, to think that in the bookies eyes Roma were the underdogs....

Alot of people seem to think our supporters we're responsible, all I can say is that look at Roma's track record in this department, not to mention the problems in Italian football in general...

Also United have played in Europe every year for over a decade, our suporters are well known for NOT causing trouble, who do they think we are England supporters...

Considering how bad our hoolie' problem was, visiting fans from european teams get the run of Our city and get treated as guests should...

Still I'm not naive enough to think we didnt play apart but given our track record I'm amazed we have been getting grief off the Italians (pot meet kettle)

If that ever happened in England The Prem would be banned from playing in europe.
 
I totally agree Vann, Italian authorities are a fucking joke - they need to look at their own back yard before blaming the ALWAYS BEHAVED travelling United supporters. Fucking scumbags.
 
the police where realy out of control, it started with the roma one's throwing bottles etc, roma fan's do this most games, but yet the police stand on the away side, what do the police expect,do they expect our fans to take this! then when we move over towards the fence they charged in and beat everyone and just weigh in too heavy handed.

they should throw roma out of europe untill the have a proper plan, where they search everyone before they go into the ground,where they pick out these hooligans and ban them from italian football matches, it must be terrible being frightened to go and watch a game of football.
 
Man, no help from spurs on team selection. No Berbatov, no Lennon (not even on bench :(! Chelsea should surely have the better legs/subs in the second half. First was typically dull stifled affair at the bridge.
 
Yeah for VDS to do that once is an aberration at his level, to do it twice in 3 days...hrm. Surely it's actually easier to tip it over, see Petr Cech, a few hours earlier. Plus, it wasn't even a great shot...?

Anyway, need to do it the hard way. Sigh.
 
Take Fletcher and Richardson out, Saha and Giggs in, put Ronaldo in his natural position, creating danger coming from midfield.

And the refs should whistle fouls on Ronaldo.

VDS has made great saves but to do that twice in 3 days is a joke.
 
Yeah, but how much fun was that? Now that's what footballs about, unpredictable, entertaining, action at both ends. I don't dislike Chelsea because they win, I dislike Chelsea because of the way they win. Which of those two matches would you have rather just paid to see?

Yeah Richardson was his typical self, useless at attacking, helped the other team score. I've just about seen him have enough chances now.

Thought Fletcher actually looked pretty good, particularly given he's been out for a while. Had our only notable shot on target in the first half.

Oh and Rooney's goal right after the break was onside. But whatever, we had chances. Typical David James, brilliant all game except for 1 second. Really though Smith had brought us level at the end. Not meant to be. No complaints, Portsmouth hustled brilliantly and we just lacked the cutting edge. Great game of footie :)

Yeah, because it's that simple... If he doesn't win fouls it's his own fault for being a known diver.

I like the fact that people in this thread are now looking toward Louis Saha to improve the team. Not too long ago the general opinion was that he was complete shite and should leave the club. :roll:

Richardson is only there cos the squad is so thin in that department, even if we didnt have Roma on tues Giggs cant play 2 full games, hopefully Richardson gets fucked off next season...

Chelsea are better equipped for the run in IMO I just hope our attacking philosophy can get us to the end of the season...
