Manchester United Thread

Can't believe some people here think Trezeguet won't fit 'United's Style'. That guy can fit any team's style... just give him the ball and he'll score 3 goals. He's one of the best finishers around and doesn't need speed to score 25 goals.

As long as Gill doesn't come out and say look, here you go fans, here are you two world class signings: Michael Carrick and Thomas Kusczak. If he does that, my faith is lost.

Can just hear Fergie's new speech: Well we've got John O'Shea and Darren Flecther that can play in the midfield. And they're young and improving - there's no doubt about that. Do doubt about that. :)

I still feel we need someone, just signing Kuzscak and Carrick isnt enough, we sold Ruud, I think we need another decent striker.

DJ
i think alan smith would be a good substitute of saha/rooney
g.rossi maybe can get a chance to play too
imo we need should get a midfielder :)

Interesting: Apparently Macherano has skipped out on training and is angry with Corinthians over not wanting him to play in the friendly in London...Anyway

Point is, I'd still be mighty happy to get him in now that Hargreaves is a lost cause. Wonder if Gill and Fergie can step up this late in the game?

Juve' sport director Alessio Secco isn't letting Trezeguet go. He says that Trezeguet has an greement with Secco and that he is happy to stay.

let him stay, he's quite simply....shit

If Trezeguet comes you will see Rooney warming the bench quite a lot.

maybe I shouldn't generalise so much...

Saha: never rated him, and the last time I said he was shit, the only thing he could do was kick it over the bar, 'Johnny Wilkinson' style. He's since come on very well, and scored plenty of goals.

Ronaldo: I've said he's shit because he is so frustratingly inconsistent. He couldn't cross or shoot a ball at all, he gave it away so much, and his tricks usually ended up with him on the floor. Now look at him, he's had the perfect start to the season.

Pirlo: only watched him a few times, and he's never done anything impressive. He's lazy and didn't have a good WC either. I stand by the fact that he is shit.

Trezeguet: I dunno how the hell we've been linked with him. I've seen him quite a few times on TV, I don't remember him scoring, so....still shit.

as for players I think are good. There's too many to list, so I won't bother.

You are rich. Trezeguet is shit? One of the best finishers, if not the best finisher in the world is shit? Pirlo one of the best players on the WC, one of the best passers in the world, who is consistently one of Milan's best players is shit?

Oh please bother, tell us you do you think are the 4 players exactly oppositte to those you mentioned. As in, not shit.

Rooney couldn't hit the wide side of a barn all last season, all he was is power and getting a few flukey tap ins. Then look at him at last World Cup, if he aimed for the crowd he couldn't have hit them, Ferguson at this stage of his career knows that if he gets a player of Trezeguets caliber he will play him ahead of Rooney in a 4-5-1 attacking formation.

Yeah we'l certainly put one of our best ever players who has saved us on many occasions on the bench who cost us 27million. And play a 28year old forward who plays like van nistelrooy except even more lazy. Yeah It makes sense, cant wait to see that happen!

Listen, anyone who watches football now knows that money is nothing to Man United and Chelsea, they can practically buy anyone they want at the snap of a finger, van Nistlerooy and Trezeguet have 2 very different styles, Ruud is more of an aerial ball man or he looks for the volley or banana shot from long distance, Trezeguet is more like Marco van Basten or Atillo Lombardo in his prime, covering the whole goalmouth like a non venomous anaconda and looking to pounce on the loose ball, I can tell that Ferguson is looking for a natural replacement for Rooney, ever since the tunnel incident in the middle of last season, plus he's tired of the same old tactics, having C.Ronaldo do a decoy run down the left flank, get the ball in front of Rooney who powerhouses his way in a straight line towards the goals in the hopes of a thunder shot towards the net, losing possession 9 times out of at least 10 attempts. Anyone can see that although United have started out with some lucky wins the balance of the team is all wrong like an old navy vessel and it starts on the helm of the ship not at starboard, port or at the stern. Ferguson will look to bring in a quick compact skillful striker and cash in on Rooney while there's still time. You might laugh now but we'll see who's laughing later on when this happens.

:lmao: Arsenal fans never disappoint! I would put forth a proper reply but to be honest, I can't be bothered. What you just said isn't worth my time. I'm not even going to entertain the idea that you have any valid points in what you just spilled out.

Saying Trezeguet is shit something I thought I would never hear.

Pirlo is better than any midfielder that ManU have.

Pirlo was one the best of the WC. Actually i'm still undecided between Pirlo and Cannavaro.

has ruud scored many banana shots at all? i think he scored one goal outside the area? and volley's? aerial balls? hmm..

Pirlo is world class. And paying £30 million for him would arguably be a bargin.

you dont watch enough games, pirlo is pure absolute class, he is in fact better then any midfielder united have, without a doubt.. man you need to watch more football

With all this speculation linking us with every player under the sun, I have a feeling it will just be a big anticlimax in which we end up signing no one.

Wouldn't you prefer us to not sign anyone instead of making a rash last minute transfer that we'd regret?

There's still some time left, so we may be in for a suprise (as long as it isn't Trezeguet!)

Oh its too fun to ignore!
1. Ruud virtually never scored with his head, so I'm not sure where the massive ariel threat comment is from. What the hell is a banana shot? Unless referring to his penalty taking technique, he didn't do those either. Finally you're right he does get a lot of volleys, but those are from crosses into the goal mouth which he 'covers like a non-venomous anaconda' (why would you pick a relatively slow and ungainly snake, the emile heskey of slitherers if you will?)
2. SAF is looking for a natural replacement for Rooney: Of course! Rooney's clearly past it. We should look to cash in immediately, I mean, with him so easy to replace and all.
3. Losing posession 9/10 times/thunder shot off target: If you check you'll find United are actually the club with the most shots on goal, and wonderfully high posession figures too. But don't worry about the facts.
4. Which were the lucky wins? Was that the 4-1 or the 3-0?
5. 'Quick, compact, skillful striker' - oh you mean Rooney. Oh no you don't, you mean, what, Trezeguet? Compact? What?

Sorry that was just the single most ridiculous post I've ever seen on here, so had to find out if you're actually being serious....?
