Thats a different issue. Fabregas was cheap because he didnt have a reputation. Look at Shevchenko, his reputation cost Chelsea £30million for his services. Wenger still had work to do on Fabregas before his price tag was justified.
 
I really want to see Defoe at our club but I dont really want him AND Saha cuz they're a similar type of players.
IMO, we should get Carrick and Mascherano and take it from there. If we really need another striker, we could start looking into that in January.
 
I swear Carrick was 15m???

Mascherano & Defoe for me & we are set as Solskjaer i feel is past it.

huh, saha is great in the air, defoe is not... i would say they are similar in the fact they can take on players and score, but saha is so much better in the air, that he could almost be a target man... where defoe is not... i like saha alot

nah defoe would be quality, he's abit better in the box than saha...
 
Saha has his goods and bads......

but 11 mil pounds for RVN, 18 mil pounds for Carrick??? something must be wrong.......if we swapped the numbers...hm....

oh wellz, it's already reality, there's no reason to think or complain about it......but i still think that we should get Mascherano......we need another midfielder for various reasons...helping Carrick and Scholes, injuries, to shut us all up...u know...hahaha,

but i'd just like to say to the world out there why we are complaining and saying how we don't have much signing and such....because we are classified as one of the best in the world, great history, and to see all others above or below us signing alot of players to strengthen their team, and we did nothing but lose another quality player, you have got to feel mad
 
Gutted to see Ruud go. Really was painful watching him paraded at the Bernabeu....probably worse then watching England get knocked out of the World Cup.
Not too unhappy at the Carrick signing...atleast we got someone atlast but we do need someone else. Either a Mascherano(as ive pointed out for about a year now) or dare i say, Heargreaves!
What to do with my RVN shirt now?

I agree Ronaldo should play more upfront now as everyone can see he cant cross for s**t but does have an eye for goal.

I dont think Ferguson is willing to gamble on mascherano. He's a hugely talented player but i feel that the £15 M corinthians are demanding is a bit hefty for a player who has never played in a 'top' league and a player who seems to frequently not live up to his reputation on the international stage. Ferguson should take a look at Villareals Senna now that they are not even in the UEFA cup. despite his limited passing which can be covered by carricks ability, he'll provide the backbone which i feel has been missing for a season or two in your team
 
I honestly dont think we'll make any more signings this summer, SAF has already said that Rossi is not going out on loan, so he's gonna take up one of the strikers positions, and with the ginger prince back and the arrival of carrick i think he'll be content with the midfield. Nobody outside the club knows what we have to spend, his hands could be tied , hence the capture of carrick only when we have got rid of Ruud.

The only good news about senna is that he has a history of being tested positive with steroids back in 2004. Hopefully that will still be in his system when he joins united so he can be a maniac in midfield.

Wow, after all that positive stuff from the team on weds, they are TERRIBLE against Preston at the moment. Rossi has lost the ball every time he's had..certainly not a ruud replacement yet!

People have gotta start dropping the "ruud replacement" when talking Rossi, there is no way you can put that on him he's young lad, SAF is looking to having 3-4 strikers chipping in with the goals instead, I cant see him basing a whole team around one up front, again.

Rossi will be a good player for us, he's making a step up so it might take a season or two.

I was sorry to see Ruud go, he was a great player for us and im sure he'll do well at Madrid.
 
That's fair enough, what I meant was more that he doesnt' look to able to stand up to big CBs. Hopefully he'll get kind of owen-esque. But we certainly won't be able to use him to hold up play.
 
Rossi will be Rossi........i honestly don't think such young players should be compared with great stars.......the pressure they will get is just immense!!! it won't let them play to their top level....i didn't see the Preston game, but i dare say that since Ruud is gone, lots of eyes are on him to see if he can be a "Ruud-replacement" and that's why he played poorly!!

as for Senna......no, he's way too old....especially when we are looking to replace players, we aren't looking for players to replace....Mescherano is still a good buy for me...so i still think we should go for it...will he be Kleberson/Djemba-Djemba is yet to find out....but....i have faith in him...(i had faith in Veron though...sigh)

And i remember reading how SAF says that Carrick is the first signing but there will be at least one more.....so i don't think SAF is that dumb to think that the midfield now is complete even with Carrick in....

Silvestre is the weakest link in that starting XI. Replace him with Vidic or Brown and that will be a decent team.

Also the thing is that i can see Rooney staying up there in the box. Not even Ronaldo would. These two like having possesion of the ball. So Saha has to start. We are definatly gonna miss RVN.

Fergie claims he is working on one or two things to sort out a deal for another midfielder. He admitted yesterday that he was looking at the situation at milan for guttuso. But since milan are back in champions league, he resigned to admit that the chances of signing guttuso was very slim. Its a shame to be honest. But he said something will happen in the next few days regarding the other transfer.

I just hope it isnt Senna. Anyone but Senna.
 
yeah...Silvestre isn't as good anymore.....i thought Vidic would be great...but....he does miss some playing time...so have to use more time to assess how he plays....but i put Ronaldo and Rooney there...yeah, they both want possession, but if they...a big IF they can pass together and run together...they can be the most dangerous dynamic duol of the premiership if not of the whole Europe!!!

i still really want fatty Ronaldo to come.........guess that won't happen...:(

IMO theres a bigger contrast in Rooney and Ronaldo which gives them the potential to be a much deadlier duo. Between them, they have more duties on the pitch and cover more positions, they have a larger variety of skills and abilities between them and also have age on their side. I think the best way to sum it up is that while Ronaldinho and Etoo are brilliant in a few key areas, Rooney and Ronaldo are slightly weaker but cover more key areas.
Of course its dumb to compare them right now cuz Ronaldinho is already the world's best player, while Rooney and Ronaldo are still potential stars and could turn out to have worse careers than most expected.
