I bet SAF was a relieved man after we equalised. The papers and media would had field day if we lost and didnt play Ruud.
 
I don't get the point of playing Giggs in central midfield. I say stick rooney there, put Saha and Ruud up front, especially against open teams like Newcastle. Giggsy is so inconsistent even within a match, he'll pop up and do soemthing good, then dissappear for the next 25 minutes, not what you want from a central player. Last night he also stuck to the left wing a lot, interchanging with Park and Silvestre, but bringing so many defenders with him that they couldn't accomplish anything.

I've gotta say, Saha is looking better and better, I never really rated him before but he really does try to get every single header, and fight for every ball. I think if he works with Ruud to get a better football 'brain' he'll be very dangerous with a second striker. Not good on his own though.

Last night (and last weekend) really exposed our midfield for what it is, crap. Last sunday we just kept long balls going over the midfield, yesterday we just had no poession in cnetral areas at all. No crisp passing, flowing mvoes from defense up. Either long balls or hope the fowards pick it up, because they can flow well. Need to sort things out, whatever happened to the good reserve player Jones? (not the one called back, the one in holland i think?) How about liam miller, can we call him back?

I remember hearing on MUTV that with the added quadrant, the stadium will create like a bowl or a tube shape going around the whole stadium meaning the crowd will sound even loader with the echo.
 
The current United record of played 27, won 17, drawn 6, lost 4 isnt bad at all, regarding having no centre midfielders for a while (Well theres Fletcher) plus losing out on who I think is the best defender at the club Heinze early on in the season.

If 1 or 2 good/ hard working centre mids come in the summer the United squad will look more of a complete package.

Good win last night, good to see the never say die attitude again!
 
I still think we should have atleast loaned someone in the winter just to ensure that we finish 2nd. How long are we gonna hold on without a midfielder?
 
Until the summer I guess, surely Fergie can see that the midfield area is the one that needs to be improved on next! Didnt he try get Vogel on loan ?

About the 2nd spot though if utd win the next game in hand it leaves them 5 points infront of Liverpool, plus they have Arsenal away next which will be a tough game for them. United have Newcastle at home which is also a tough game so we'll see how it goes

Anyways,does anybody knows if any of our scouts or officials or Sir Alex himself travelled anywhere to watch players,particularly to spain last night to watch Riquelme?
 
Gr, Ole adn Quinton both hurt in the reserves match...could seriously have used them as cover for the run in to the end of the season. Fortune's looked nasty, hopefully its not.
 
I don't see a place for Solksjaer in the team anyway - he is getting on now and who would he take the place of? Ronaldo? Rooney? Ruud? I love Ole but I can't ever see him doing anything special in a United shirt again.

Riquelme wasn't good enough for Barca, what makes you think he will be good enough for United?
 
no way riquelme is going to man.utd, the premier style was never good for south american players, is like playing in Italy or Spain for english players.

I think we're getting Juninho...he's the "star" midfielder SAF said we're gonna bring...at least that what I think.. :D

Vogel's crap..and its good that we didn't get him..if he's not good enough for the milan starting line up then he's not good for us...cuz now we need "star" players... .

I disagree with Vogel being crap. Hes not the Swiss captain for nothing. His ball control is perfect.

Don't think Riquelme or Juninho would head to United... some people here thought Ballack is too old... but Juninho is older. Riquelme recently signed a contract with Villarreal, and I dont think hes willing to ruin his career all over again (Like in Barca) when he's got a team full of Argentinian players and is a starter for Argentina. Villarreal are like Argentina 2.

Also, Milanista, I agree with you, Vogel is class.

Guys you need to remember, AC Milan have the BEST starting eleven in Europe in my opinion. The defence is :shock: , the midfield is :shock: and the attack is :shock: . The bench is also the strongest in my opinion - it really should be their competition (Champions League) this year after Juve looking getting LUCKY last night.

Liverpool are losing!

If they go out and with Chelsea gone, what a wonderful week especially with us winning on monday.
 
We need to get Simao to replace Giggs & Diarra of Lyon he was immense tonight.
