Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

1-0!!!! One Fuckin Nil!!!

From the sick munich chants coming from the scousers before the game, the sick "are you watching georgie best" chants and the sick chants that neville got all thru the game its amazing how sensitive the mickeys get when it suits them, all that "best fans in the world" bollox they go on about aswell...

Gary Neville Is A Red He Hates Scousers!!!

Dont get me wrong Nevilles celebration (along with the bewildering idea to let both sets of fans out at the same time) meant that a few wound up scousers got a slap and a a few of the lads arrested after the game but...

One Fuckin Nil!!

That more than makes up for for last week!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Come on we can all agree that Chelski are annoying ;)

I love how much crap is going to be made about Neville's celebrating. I predict at least a 3 game, and I'm sorry it is partly because its United, which is something the players simply have to realise and deal with. I don't know why the FA hate us, but they really do.
Examples:
Rooney v. Ben Haim - Ben Haim wuoldn't let go of rooney's jersey as he was retreating towards half way line, rooney reached back without even looking and pushed him, Ben Haim fell he just lost his pacifier. And despite no action in the match, Rooney gets a 3 game ban.
Van Nistlerooy v. Cole - Okay go ahead, say something. I've now seen Michael Essien do it 3 times THIS Season, and to be fair it happens alot more than it should. But, because he's a united player, it gets shown, in slow motion contiually for a week. And again, no action in hte match, 3 match suspension afterwards.
Ronadlo v. Andy Cole - Maybe if the ref actually did his job and called fouls, Ronaldo wouldn't have been so irate, but regardless he lunged stupidly. However he made no contact whatsoever, and bam 3 games for you sir.
And then theres' the whole, lets suspend Rio longer than if he'd been doing drugs in the first place.

So lets see what'll come of the fact that he screamed and grabbed his crest, which he clearly wears with a pride few players can even imagine. If the pool fans can't deal with that, don't come to OT.

Some decent rumours floating around the United camp at the mo...

The reason we didnt get Gravesen is that he was asked to take a 3mil (euro) paycut..

The Ballack deal isnt dead, the package that Juve offered was lighter than expected (but Madrid are favourites)

Ruuds agent tried to off load him to AC Milan last summer (we all knew that anyway) but they werent interested, with Van Basten soon to be the headcoach, a swap deal with Ruud and Sheva is rumoured with the ukranian believing he's done eveything he can do at Milan... (david gill has been in Milan alot recently)

Second swap rumour is Ronaldo for Robben in the summer....

Also the club has treated Gus Hidjjink(sp) to some first class hospitality this year, there have been strong links to him and the club for a while, is he gonna be manager next season....

Also the Gattuso thing wont go away (david gill HAS been in Milan alot recently)

The french MF we are linked with from Lyon is gonna be alot cheaper than Essien, with either Saha or (wait for it) SILVESTRE (YES PLEASE!) going in the other way...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Although I think Neville isnt a good captain he loves the club, believe me he wont give a shit about any fine he gets...

I hear from Milanista that Inter are after him too. And you have to remember that he's free in a few months so God knows how many other clubs are gonna jump in for this player.

I dunno if I'd want this deal to happen. When I look at Ruud and Rooney, I think they are a perfect combination so I wouldnt want to break that. I know Shevchenko is world class but Ruud is already a proven goal scorer for us. Who know if Sheva can fit in.

Another one that I'm not too sure about. Although Robben is currently a much better player, he kinda looks like the finished article whereas whenever you see Ronaldo play, you can see a lot of areas that he could easily improve on cuz Ronaldo's flaws are usually little amateurish mistakes rather than it being his ability. So IMO, Ronaldo is potentially a better player since his he can always learn more.

Havent heard much about the man. Dont even know what kind of tactics he used. But he did pretty well with PSV last year. I'm not gonna judge him cuz I havent really seen him in action.

The more I hear about this, the more I feel he's not really worth it. We have all seen him play and we all think he's pretty good but I dont think replacing Keano's presence and influence is as easy as signing one player like Gattuso.

I'd personally trying an use this opportunity to offload both Saha and Silvestre and see if we can avoid a transfer fee altogether. Although Saha can be a good player, we arent seeing any signs of him getting back to his best ever again. And I think Rossi can take his place in the first team. Rossi isnt really a full timer in the first team cuz Fergie thinks maybe he could still benefit from the reserves. But the kid is gonna be 19 (I think) in a bit and he proved he has the confidence to play at a higher level.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

i used to really hate neville but i don't actually mind him anymore. that sort of passion is what makes football stand out and makes it special so long may it continue. he wasn't acting like a prick or being big headed he was just excited.....well i dunno thats what i thought.

Should go after Defoe get rid of Ronaldo, Saha & Silvestre and get SWP!

Never gonna happen tho

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

i don't see anything wrong with that at all... Why is the FA trying to clamp down on goal celebrations? Football is all about passion! Whats wrong with taking your shirt out when u score? What is the FA up to? Thank god they are getting rid of SVEN

Getting rid of Ronaldo is a really bad mistake you dont want to make. Although there are better players at his age, he's in a better position to potentially be a better player. The things that make him a bad player are the type of things that can be worked on to improve where as other young players seem like its their ability stopping them from improving.

For example, Reyes looks kinda like he has reached his potential at such a young age. Yes he can improve cuz he's still young but not by much. But if you look at someone like Fabregas, you can easily see areas for improvement that wouldnt be very difficult to achieve cuz its not his ability thats stopping him from being a brilliant player but rather his understanding of the game.
Ronaldo needs to understand what he has to do and not be told everything. He's still very immature and you can see that when he chooses to shoot when he should have passed or crossed to the far post instead of the near post, etc.

Trust me, Ronaldo is in safe hands at United and will evnetually prove his doubters wrong.

According to BBC website Scholes is out for the season

Fergie just might have to go out and buy a midfieler very soon
If I were him, I'd go and get one tomorrow. This is a serious problem if its true. I mean, who do we have left? O'Shea, Fletcher and Smith?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

Wow. Ballack, now. If the Glazers want to see a real profit drop, they should just leave our midfield the way it is.

I bet SAF doesn't sign anyone, pulls Rooney back a bit and plays Saha/RvN together. Or puts on 3 wingers at once.

Sigh.

so what does that say about lfc and the rest of the league if we are 2nd place and the only team to beat chelsea....

I'm talking about at present...cos you had Keane and Scholes until recently.

The Liverpool result.....lets not go into that. It was just one of those games. When such rivalry exists....anything can happen with the high emotions

And people were saying that BEFORE Scholes was injured. Now thats saying something about the state of our midfield.
And theres no point in signing Ballack now. If we wait a few more months, we can have him for free.

I think the best thing to do right now would be to have Brown with Vidic/Silvestre in center back, have Rio as our defensive midfielder, Rooney in Scholes' position and have Ruud with either Saha or Rossi up front.
I think that team would last us till the end of the season easily, but I doubt the manager would think of something like that.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread-

the club is currently looking at a MF (that we've already been linked with) now that have fessed about scholsey when really they have known for a while....

the other option is to recall young Jones from his loan spell, which is what I would prefer, but what do I know....

nah Rio is not a DMF, he's not even a CB sometimes....

Moving Rooney abit deeper is an option, he drops back to do his fair share anyway, Giggs is an also an option for CMF/AMF, we improved on sunday when he moved inside and he's no shithouse either, basically any of these would be an improvement cos at the mo the MF is only passing sideways and backwards and thats the reason why we are 2nd to only Liverpool when it comes to hitting long balls....
