In my books,hes just the type of manager to succeed Alex Ferguson.Old skool,a great tactician,respectful and has a great CV to do the job.I bet his aura and presence will prove a great deal amongst the lads.We just cant bring him over now Rune,Sir Alex has to step down first.

I think if we fail to qualify for the champions league and fail to mount a serious challenge for the premiership title and end up another season trophyless, i think then Sir Alex should step down.

I think Fergie is the man to lead a this new team and turn our season around, i still believe in Fergie. Hitzfield would however be a great replacment if fergie were to fall short, he is world class no nonsense coach who has got what it takes to take over a huge club like manchester United. Interesting whatever happens, just got to watch the drama unfold as always with this club.

Plus we might not neccessarly need him. The season isn't over guys, not even half-way through. And it's still early in ALL competitions.
Have a bit more faith in Sir Alex, and our players.

Ruud's first goal was amazing! He's the league's top scorer (with Lampard, wtf is he doing there?!) where he belongs.

yeah, i'm sure it won't be in the middle of the season...it really ruins the team's morale and structure....i really do feel that if a manager has to go, it must be at the end of a season....so there's enough time for the team and the manager to know each other and see what tthey can together achieve....

This has not been brought up before but I hope with Keano's departure,we can now see some strong characters coming out of their shells to lead the team and build a new rapport amongst the lads.A victory nontheless tonight.C'Mon United!!

I see Smith having a long term place in the team, but not as a frequent starter. I think he's the man to come on at 60 mins and either protect a lead by sitting in DMF, or to fight for a goal by being more of a CMF. He has bags of energy and commitment, and changes the tempo of a match. I don't think he qutie has the creativty, speed or skill to be a world class DMF, nto yet anyway, but i could definitely see him playing in almost every game as a sub, either for scholes or our yet to be named superstar CMF/DMF who will arrive in january. *fingers crossed*

And please please please, lets get a big win tonight. Villareal were fairly uninspiring ni their home match, hopefully we can tear them apart.

I agree with you but I dont think Smith does. He wants to be in the starting XI and not on the bench. The last thing we want is him wanting to leave.

I cant see nothing but a good performance and win tonight, but we must not make any changes from the team we put out against chelsea and charlton. 2-0 home win for us i think.

getting a little worried at the half, not that that they've looked dangerous, but united have looked weak. And given the ref's decision to card silvestre, i do worry about what'll happen if he's involved in a breakaway foul.

But my goodness, Rooney has had some touches. We dont' look fit enough imo, opened well, but the 25-35 minute range fletch/scholes stopped running and it really showed. Brown on the other hand has run his socks off, good man...imagine how he'll be when he trims the fro for streamlining!

Last night performance was one of the little evidence that we are still picking up the pieces.We didnt played bad but we failed to capitalize on the chances made.I'm really happy to see Saha and Neville return for the first team as both did look good again.Lets now get back to the premiership and win our next away match against West Ham.Then its 3 home games plus that vital away CL game with Benfica.We must win these games,its vital and will provide us a platform to grasp back the league title.
