yeah he played well last nite, the reserve team is playing better stuff than the first team..

they beat West Brom 4-1

I can see at least 5 of the reserve team being in the first team squad in the next year or two, they wont all be "local" like the last batch but they've been playing together for awhile and have a great understanding of each others game...

Plus the new youth coach is first class....

our Under 18's also did the mickeys 4-0...

As soon as Keane and Fergie fell out it was gonna be one or the other, looks like Fergie won......

now the club has to move forward....

I wanted Keano to stay, he was the last player left to be in tune with the fans and whats going on on the pitch...

This could be the proverbial nail in Fergies coffin....

Red Issue are reporting that Fergie and keane had a huge fight at Carrington this morning where Keane was stripped of his captaincy, following this he walked out.......

I think people will take this more of a shock not because of the calibre of the player leaving, because Keane was very much in the twilight of his career and i don't think he was going to get that extension anyway. It's more of a shock because Keane was the embodiment of everything united to so many people. It's a cliche, but it truly is an end of an era.

Regardless of what comes out in the wash Keane has been the best MF in this country for the past 8-10 years and probley in the top three in Europe...

But without a doubt he is the best MF we've EVER had and will be sorely missed by the clubs supporters....

Its a sad end to his Utd career. I have to say I'm with Keane on this one. What he is alleged to have said in that interview was bang on. If him and Fergie have had another bust up then one of them had to go, in my opinion it was the wrong one.

But the club has to move on, and it free's up quite a substantial weekly wage paving the way for..................???

This was the pinnacle, we've beaten arsenal a good few times, sometimes pretty easily, but this has gott be the first time we beat arsenal before we even kicked a ball...

He had such great influence on the team

This more or less guarantees that Fergie will be buying someone in January, it needs to be a very good signing but whoever it will be they wont influence has much as Keano

A legend has left the team. Rarely do we see captains with the presence he had on the pitch. One on those players whose personality really affected his game.
Now the pressure will really be on Fergie, but most of all, it'll be on whoever plays in his position from now on. Good luck Allen.
This day was going to come sooner or later.

I'm gutted.Didnt expect it to turn out this way.Reports said that Keano's contract was ended mutually but I felt it had a rather sour ending to it somewhere.What is this i read about a bust up at Carrington before Keano walked out? I'm still gutted.Another real legend during my time supporting United has left.We must move on,we have to but like Arsenal,we are now leaderless.

We need Guttuso, only he in my eyes can replace keano. He can get the crowd going, the guy doesnt pull out of tackles, hes got presence and likes a good battle. Its not rocket science who to go in for!

Wether or not he ac milan will let him go is another question but least we can do is a make an attempt. Even mercherno argentina midfielder seems a good bet.

The Manchester United winger, who had been hoping to return to action as soon as possible, has been told not to resume training for another two weeks.

The Welshman had been making good progress after picking up the injury in last month's UEFA Champions League clash against Lille, but will now be further delayed.

"Ryan went to see a specialist and unfortunately he said he wouldn't be able to start training for another two weeks, which is a bit frustrating," said Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

Ferguson, who will also be without Roy Keane for United's game against Charlton after his shock decision to leave the club, is determined not to repeat last season's mistakes after their victory over Chelsea a fortnight ago.

"After the victory against Arsenal last year we thought we would go on a run but it was followed by a disappointing game at Portsmouth," he reflected.

"We lost that game and now we go to Charlton in a similar position after a great result against Chelsea. I will be bitterly disappointed if we don't get a victory on Saturday."

Ferguson is hoping that the injury crisis at Old Trafford will soon be over, and has been boosted by the return of Gary Neville.

"It's one chink of light and you've got to grasp that," he said. "Gary has got great experience, he's great in the dressing room and he will travel with us this weekend."

He aint overrated, hes been incredible. For club and country. He taught Vieira AND Emerson how to play football in the same match just a few weeks ago.

I don't mean that he's overrated generally, I mean that Man United fans are overrating him, calling the only replacement for Keane.
He's a great player imo, but he's no Keane. Maybe he has the mentality of Keane.
Maybe I'm blinded by my love of Keane.

Explain to me why guttuso is overrated? Btw I rated him since he began his career at milan when he was around 21,22 he was a average player but still showed he had abilities to become the best and til this day wonder why no club such as Man Utd went in for him when he was younger as he always had potential. Maybe were waiting for him to hit 30 when his cluhb no longer wants him and his contract run out before we start to show some genuine interest. I admit he has got more noticed since his display against United in the CL match last year but in no way is this guy overrated, more like underrated, he is among the best battling midfielders with the likes of keane and viera.

People have been wanting him long before the CL match. And that is because he truly is a great replacement to have.

Of course the guy aint going to be the same as keane but the similarites are there. The never say die attuitde, he wears his heart on his sleeve, plays for the crowd and is always ready to face adversary. Thats the type of player is what we need in midfield, as thats the spirit of Manchester Utd football club.

I know this sounds abit arrogant, but I think getting key players off Milan is almost impossible. Its very difficult to outpay the wages, or to get Milan to accept any offers, especially for players in the starting XI. Gattuso is already called 'the next captain', and is a symbol for the fans.

I totally agree and another thing is why would he want to leave such a big club that has better chance of wininng CL cup and go to england where he has less of chance winining although it would be fresh challange for him. But you never know unless you try and anything can change in football as we all know.

Which is also why I said a long time ago that we cant look to buy players off big clubs cuz its not very likely to happen. We need to find a player at a much smaller team.

And Keano leaving will probably be a blessing in disguise. I mean, we cant expect our best players to last forever. There were times like when Cantona or Beckham left and people thought we were screwed but we always find a way. There are a lot of good things to take out of this. First of all, all the players in our squad KNOW they have to step up their game. Our highest paid player left so we'll have enough money to finance a future big signing's wage. We also now know we'll definately be looking for someone in january. We'll probably call back some of out loaned players who could break through. So if you think about it, its just a new chapter in the history of our club. And this is also mean that guys like Smith and Rooney are gonna be stepping out onto the pitch, trying to prove that maybe they are the one that should be wearing the armband from now on.

Theres a lot to look forward to, guys.
