I said he played well TODAY! I still dont rate him very highly and would rather have seen Park on the wing.
So you expect me to back players when we get hammered by Boro and then beaten by lowly Lille.
I criticise them and get frustrated cos i care about the bloody team. Its what any normal fan would do you twit!

Ouh what a feeling.Its been a long time since I felt that we are gonna lose but came up with a victory in the end! The whole Premiership was behind us yesterday and we didnt let them down.Alan Smith doubters were greatly proven wrong as the 'striker' gave a MOM performance in the heart of midfield.I really like his post match interview,it was brutally honest and straightforward.Yes,we have beaten Chelski but its just another 3 points.We have to continue and hold up the mantle from this game and bring it on against Charlton next week.Now can everybody see what Roy Keane is on about?? Its brilliant reverse physcology and it spurred the team on.C"MON UNITED!!!

See...my comments on Flectcher are totally justified. He can't even head the ball across goal accurately, he ends up scoring instead.
What a performance though from Smithy. Excellent!

Looking back, it almost seems that Fletcher was bound to be the hero of the day and to score the winning goal. :P It is so ironic how football can be so strange. :D

Its one thing to criticise and another to write players off, the latter you did sounding like a spoilt united fan who is fed up just because we lost two games in row. Go support chelsea if you want glory and super players. You obviously dont know much either too consider park playing against chelsea, the guy would have easily got out muscled in midfield and im sure he wouldnt have been on the end of the cross from ronaldo.

Saying Fletcher didn't play well in 2 games when he didn't play well is hardly glory supporting to be fair. I thought he was a bit rubbish 2nd half yesterday too. Smith on the other hand was immense, but was also shit in the previous 2 games.

Well big difference from this time last week....

I thought we played well in the first half then they really came into it in the 2nd half....

With our MF so weak it needed a big performance, and Smith pulled it out the bag, after a couple of tackles Essien & Lampard didnt go near him for the rest of the game.

Gudjohnsen made a big difference, he's had some cracking games against us in the past...

Congrats Man Utd...honestly didn't think the team could have beaten Chelsea...they prove me wrong again...never write them of (by i will continue to do that as long as Rock of Gibraltar lead the reins at OT)

Im still gona write Fletcher off because i personally dont think he contributes enough to the team on a regular basis. Now which other players did i write off? None! I just said i had sympathy for the likes of Smith and Richardson because they were not playing in their natural positions. I never said they were shit players did i?
With the Park comment youre just taking the piss arent you? So skinny little Fletcher has the muscle in midfield? Well atleast hes got one positive attribute. Park might not have been on the end of the cross but then again he might have scored a screamer.
Next time United play as shit as they did against both Boro and Lille ill just praise them to the heavens.

In defence of Fletcher, I would say....Nah! I can't defend him, he's useless. He has the agility and grace of a three-legged baby hippo with scurvy...(No disrespect to 3 legged baby hippos with Vitamin C deficiencies)

Great result against Chelsea, i thought Smith got better the more Chelsea got on top, but maybee thats the problem with him in that position how many sides do you play who put United under that much pressure.....?

Rating Fletcher is somewhat debatable.He is a good player in my opinion but as some might agree,not good enough for United.Many of us forget that Fletcher is still young and he is a late developer in my books.Look at Lampard,he was nowhere the player he is now when he was at West Ham and his first year at Chelski.Fletcher is somewhat in between greatness and rubbish now,he just needs to find the right gear and work from there.Obviously there is something in him that made him a firm favourite of Sir Alex and the Scotland manager.I mean,we dont see him in training and I dont think he is even playing in his favourite position in the first place.If that is the case,then I say we should stand firm with him,at least till the end of next season.We did cheer when he scored did we? I am not defending Fletcher whatsoever,I'm just stating the obvious.Cheers~

Good result for you boys, and what a tenacious performance by Smith. I loved the sliding tackled on lampard on the touchline, and then he gets up berating O'Shea who should have cleared it... lovely. Nothing like a fiery 'midfielder'.

man of the match, well either smithy or scholes for me, cant decide which,
the pure genuis of rooney was evident on that chipped past on the outside of fletcher who then one touched it brilliantly to ruud, only to have the big man wank it over the top, CMON RUUD!!! He is better then that. But the pass from rooney makes him oh so speical, i was thinking as he was dribling back out, what the hell are you going to do, chip a useless ball into the box, instead he chips this superb ball perfectly onto flecthers foot away from the defender, in a spot the defender has no chance, just absolutley amazing....

Rooney was the best man on the pitch IMO, maybe didn't get mentioned so much but the way he plays is special.

well i must say, it takes some stern stuff to bring me back to this lovely place, for i felt i was once addicted to evo-web... at any rate, pleased as punch with the result and to boot: there was just electricity in the air. finally, playing at OT meant something to the lads on the pitch and you could feel it. i could certainly feel it from across the pond and the hair on the back of my neck still stands on end when i reminisce upon the joyous events that took place several nights ago.

Bayern Munich are now fearful that Michael Ballack will leave the club.
Ballack's protracted contract saga is due to come to a conclusion in the coming weeks as he nears a decision on whether to stay at the Allianz Arena.The Germany international is out of contract at the end of the season and has been offered a four-year deal to remain in Bavaria.He has also been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United, while some reports have suggested Real Madrid have already struck a deal with the midfielder.German champions Bayern had previously been confident that they could persuade Ballack to stay at the club, although they have repeatedly warned they will not be held to ransom.But Bayern's general manager Uli Hoeness has now hinted that Ballack has decided to quit the club in search of a new challenge."I think I know what his decision will be and we will have to be able to live with that decision," said Hoeness."His continuous hesitating creates an area for speculation.If he wanted to remain in Munich, wouldn't he have said so by now?"

Good news,at least now we know hes not staying.I dont quite like the Real Madrid part but it still great news.

Buying Gravesen would be a waste. Its about time we stopped signing (or fielding) half decent mid table premiership quality players. Which is what guys like Miller and O'Shea are.

I think Smith alongside Ballack could work well. I dont see why he would join Madrid when they have guys like Beckham, Zidane and Baptista in their midfield. If he wants a challenge, lets see him try and beat Chelsea to the title. ;)

From a few days ago:

Bayern Munich’s Michael Ballack is close to becoming an Inter player next season, according to reports in Italy.

Last Wednesday, whilst Bayern were preparing for their Champions League match against Juventus, a delegation from Inter are believed to have met with Bayern representatives over a possible move for the player.

Inter sporting director Gabriele Oriali had lunch with Ballack’s agent Michael Becker and Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in the hills surrounding Turin to discuss the midfielder’s situation.

The 29-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season and Ballack, who has no shortage of admirers, has yet to renew his current deal with the Bavarian club who are desperate to hold on to their prized star.

Inter owner Massimo Moratti is prepared to pay Ballack £3m a season over four years if he signs with the Nerazzurri, but does not want to anger the German champions with whom he has enjoyed excellent relations in the past.

The meeting, and presence of former Inter player Rummenigge, was therefore designed as a way for Inter to openly declare their intentions to the Munich outfit.

The fact that many ex-Bayern legends played for Inter might be Inter's main advantage.

Ballack's agent now claims his player is staying put at Bayern at least till the end of the season.Bollocks to me.Meanwhile that young french defender issues a 'come and get me" plea to United.He describes himself having strengths in speed and power,could play leftback but is more comfortable in centre defence.Sounds like Silvestre to me...we should definitely get him.Full story below.
