Get your head out of Fletcher's arse for a minute and then talk. The only reason Fletchers ever looked good is because of the quality of players around him. As him being a winger, didnt you catch the early part of his career when he played there unsuccessfully and we were told he was naturally a central midfielder. Well hes done bugger all in that position aswell.
We all admit Scholes has been shit for us recently but we know what hes capable of and with other senior players unavailable theres not too many options.

Look im not saying fletcher is world class, but people here saying hes always been shit and let united down which is bullshit because the guy is a good player and has had some very good games for united. Your the one who is stuck in scholes arse talking as if he is some hero. I dont care waht he done 2 or 3 seasons ago, he has let the team down more than anyone, him along with fuck face rio who are senior players who should be leading by example but instead playing as if theyre old woman. I also dont hear Ronaldos name mentioned either, the guy has done fuck all this season besides useless goal against boro.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

HEY, a goal is a goal!!! don't mind if it's useless or not, it's a goal!!

now, Fletcher, yes, he is still young, he still has a lot to learn, i can understand why SAF put him there in the starting line-up as that will help him learn more and gain more experience so he can become one of the greats in the future like Giggs, Scholes, Becks, etc...BUT what we are saying is, he is not really producing yet, and at such a CRITICAL time like this, maybe putting him on the bench first and then sub him in later for some spark might be a better choice for him AND the team.

Now for Scholes...why we put him there is that he gives us experience. He might not be providing the shots, passes, goals of the past...but he can still pass and direct the flow of offense and with his experience, tell people what to do at what time (since Keane is out)...that's why we need him there...if not, who else would we put in his place??

Smith...i do agree in some sense that it was a wrong decision to put Smith into the DM position, but then, thinking of it now, it's his first time accepting a totally new position to him, he's still learning, and to be honest, if we don't put Smith in there now, who else would you people recommend we put in? Yes, we should've taken the same approach as Fletcher where we can sub him in later to provide help, BUT with Keane out, who can we put in that important role to stop the midfield attack?

Ronaldo...he is having alot of personal problems now, and not playing him might be a good thing as he can deal with them and then come back and play without any thoughts in mind...but then, who can we put with Giggs and Ole injured? Fletcher? you remember how he played there before...and Ronaldo does help the attack and provide good assistance in many games this season but they just come un-noticed...we have seen quite some bit of him in the past that we are expecting more and more and more...yes he has to learn, but with all these things in his mind now, him being able to play and still help the squad is a bonus already!!

Rio.....he's bad lately, he just needs a kick and he will be back!!!

as for us...why don't we just stop all the flaming of players and think of some constructive criticism?? like if we don't like this player as he sucks there, who we put instead?? have discussions of that might help the morale of us (not really the team as they don't read here...sadly), but alot better than just getting mad and flame!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

O'Shea gets alot of stick and rightly so but i do have some sympathy for him. He was great for us in his first season but since then he s been tried in too many positions and cant settle himself anymore. That is once again the coaching and managements fault.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

Smith is a forward. Not a DMF. That's why he doesn't play well in that position. You might as well put NvN or Rooney there, and see what happens... but it'll do no good to the team. My advice is "buy next month a DMF (¿Tachinnardi?¿Dacourt?) even if he's not world class, but get a pro in that place, instead of trying to re-convert some former Leeds striker to that position". Makes sense?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

Never fear, Ole will be back in the New Year (well maybe, lets hope)

And add a DMF to the team, wait a month, suddenly we become:

VDS
Gary - Rio - Wes/Mikael - O'Shea/Bards/Richardson
-As of yet unamed DMF/Keane -
-Scholes/Flethcer-
-Park/Ronaldo/Giggs-
-Rooney/RVN/Smith/Saha-

That's not too bad at all, IMO. Wonder if smith stil knows how to play up front, and if he'll like it again!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

Yeah, United would have a strong team if only Keane was not done for and they had another DMF (and maybe a good partner to Rio - he alone cannot cope with everything).

United need to re-think their lineup from the back. If you're selling Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Verón etc., you need a replacing strong midfielder. And no, Alan Smith is not the right answer.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

I dont see much wrong with our defence apart from low confidence. The problem is the midfield. Its non-existent. They dont help out the defence and neither do they do much for the attack.
Makes me miss the likes of Kleberson now who in truth was never allowed to settle in his DMF role either because of injuries or Fergie deciding to put him on the wing or just behind the striker.

Adriano's dad died and he ended up scoring a hat trick. Ronaldo is highly paid, and even if there are personal problems he is being paid highly to play football.

that is a big difference, at 20 your barely out of your teenage years, at 22 your 3 years removed from thsoe times, trust me, it is huge, if your dad died and you were accused of rape in the same year, it would fuck you up and besides, didnt ronaldo score for portugal the same week his dad died.... adriano hasnt been accused of rape

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

To my own astonishment i'm gonna defend Ferguson on Kleberson...Kleberson was the most important player for Brazil in the WC in Japan/Korea. His influence was huge...Once he was in the team, it really started clicking well...he came in the team during the match againbst Belgium when Belgium dominated Brazil (no shit...the match against Belgium was Brazil's most difficult in the last World Cup...by Roberto Carlos' own admission)and from then on Brazil was able to turn the tables...you all know how it ended...the key figure was Kleberson and to me it seemed a very good player for Man Utd (a rich man's Keane). But i was wrong...and so was Ferguson...and honestly who could have foreseen that...

Jesus can't believe i did that...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

Honestly,I cant really see us beating Chelsea at OT tomorrow. As usual,I'm always hoping for the best, but it dosent look good on paper.Lets see if we could pull off a fast one and play like we did againts Arsenal last year at OT.Maybe then we could literally bring them to their knees and floor them with a victory.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

I think we're gonna have to be very physical. Thats how we beat Arsenal at OT. And you have to remember that we dont have Keane, Neville and Heinze so dont be surprised if we get hammered when they attack.
We're going through a tough time and luckily for Chelsea, they're playing us when we're at our weakest in terms of the players playing and the confindence level.

This match will probably decide the whole Premiership. If Chelsea win this, even thinking about winning the title will be a waste of time.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

Mark Lawrenson Predicts - BBC (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/4409810.stm)
It is great for United to have Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo but the problem is they are just not getting any service so they are almost redundant.

Chelsea lost in Europe in midweek too but I think Michael Essien, Frank Lampard and Claude Makelele will be rubbing their hands with glee at the thought of taking on the likes of Kieran Richardson, Ji-Sung Park, Darren Fletcher and Alan Smith.

It might be another nail in the coffin for United.

Verdict: 0-2

Dunno if i'd have included Ji-Sung Park as his energy must make him a bit of a handful. I think it could easily be 3 or even more for Chelsea the way ManU's been defending recently.

Chelsea have won the league. We're going to lose at least another 3 games this season. Even if we beat them and win our game in hand we'll still be about 6 points behind them. It's over.
You can quote me on this at the end of the season if I'm proved wrong and then print a load of them "Comical Wenger" t-shirts but with "Comical Hutch" on them.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

United have to look at themselves, at what Chelsea have done and how they've responded. It's not like no one knew Chelsea were out spending millions building up their team, it was up to United to respond to that. They have a decent enough base, but need to build. I think SAF is acknowledging that now, but certainly its too late for this year. The good news is that we still have a squad of young players, and moreso when the loan poeple come back, so hopefully we'll just get better over the next 5-6 years. I'm writing this year off though, just don't see anyone catching Chelski.

What the hell, i dont where we lie if we beat chelsea and win game in hand but 6points behind is good, its so early in season to say its over being 6points behind. That would seriously bring hope if we were only 6 or 7 points second place we the team we got at moment but i think if we lose tommorrow which i think is strong possibilty but still hoping we can pull something out of the hat, then we will be 16 points behind and that is far to many behind a team like chelsea but not 6! Get real thats only 2-3bad games and youve lost your position there.

This is one of the most funny things i've read on this forum...you simply don't see which team other than Man Utd can pose a threat to Chelsea, do you....
Well get used to Chelsea hegemony and also get used to the the fact that it will not be Man Utd who will be their closest opponents...

I'm sorry but you are quite pathetic in your fanatism...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

Man can even win, but they chelsea will take the league, cause they don't fail against the small teams. Man Utd do.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

Weird situation: 1. First time i remember feeling like United are expected to lose a match.
2. If we lose, we'll remain at 9th in the league. Ouch.

Alright, I think it's time Ferguson suited up and hit the field...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread- Roy Keane = LEGEND!

Capello linked with a move to United. To me it sounds like BS because why would he drop from high flying Juve who've got a potential treble winning squad.

Uhhh... I meant decide the whole Premiership season in terms of where WE stand and OUR chances of winning anything, not every team in the competition.
