football is about money, and that is not just Manchester United, so dont go throwing that out there. Rio is in bad rut, but last year he was quality, He shut down henry every game they faced each other, rio needs a kick in the ass, but he isnt overestimated, he is playing bad like eveyrone else, playing bad football can be a spreading disease sometimes...

Sure it can. :lol: I miss when the Nevilles, Scholesy, Becks, Giggsey, Teddy, Roy and Ole put together that wonderful team. If only they'd had RvN then, instead of Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke... I pretty much preferred that glorious Manchester United team instead of the unbeatable Arsenal of two years ago. Why? Because their base team was formed of players from the islands, instead of French players. I loved the idea that Scholes, the Nevilles, Becks and some others had grown together inside the team, and had learnt from old glories like Kanchelskis, Cantona, Giggs...

Now, Arsenal were a superb team, and the combination of the French trio and some quality players such as Campbell and Ljunberg got them to be an unstoppable team. However, they lacked that romantic background that I sensed in United. That's why I am more fond of Man Utd.

When I remember those Champions League games of Real Madrid against Manchester United... that was quality football, that glorious match in OT with Raúl and Redondo leading the win and United not giving up... or that Ronaldo Hat-Trick in Manchester and the United boys' comeback... Wow, amazing.

I would've loved to see that great Arsenal play against the Galactico's in their best moment (with Zidane, Raúl, Figo and Ronaldo playing well together).

Why werent we getting at Lille yesterday? Why were we sitting back yet again? When the f**k will Ferguson realise all these problems sufficed because of his negative outlook and lazy approach in games.

I think there's a problem of confidence and compromise. I don't think that Sir Alex Ferguson is the problem here. I think there's a bunch of players that are not big enough to play at Man Utd. Just look for a moment at the best teams in Europe's lineup: there are no Fletchers, no Richardsons, no Browns, no Smiths. ¿Defence? Manchester United need a good CB as of NOW. Rio is not sh*t, but is not Franco Baresi either. They need another good CB or a better defensive midfielder. United just lacks good defensive players.

Milan have Nesta, Stam, Maldini, Kaladze, Gattuso... Juve have Cannavaro, Thuram, Vieira, Emerson, Zambrotta... Chelsea have Makelele, Terry, Gallas, Del Horno, Carvalho... Barça have Puyol, Edmilson, Márquez, Motta... Real Madrid have Sergio Ramos, Helguera, Woodgate, Gravesen, P.García... Inter have Veron, Cambiasso, Cordoba, Materazzi, Samuel... Man Utd. have... Rio. That's all. Park can defend... more or less. Smith? NO WAY!

This United is having the very same problems that Real Madrid had 18 months ago: their defensive midfield was Beckham-Guti-Zidane. WOW. No wonder they conceded so many goals. Who defends at United, now Keane is out? NOBODY. That's the problem.

I am not going into Sundays game brimming with confidence. Can SAF not see that Ji Sung Park is quality and he would run all day. He's got spirit and when he did come on last night the game sparked. Put him on, take that Scottish welp off and go 4-4-2.

Football maybe about money, but their are limits...the problem in Europe is that there is no fair competition and Man Utd (amongst others) is to blame for that...i don't need to tell an American that there are better ways to ensure a fair compettition where all teams sooner or later are top teams...
The problem i have is that teams like Man Utd, Arsenal and the rest of the G14 have tried to create a monopoly among them...I'm fed up with all United and Arsenal fans complaining about Abramovich. The G14 created Abramovich...in the USA this could not be possible...
Furthermore, Man Utd should get rid of Ferguson...5 years ago he was a hero...he should have quit then...now he's become a liability.

Well the quotes are obviously taken out of context to sell papers. He probably said "Smith's wandering around as if he's lost because he's playing in the wrong position" but the papers are always going to make it sound worse. He was actually commenting on the goals scored against us, so saying he was wandering around aimlessly for one of the goals, and not wandering around aimlessly just in general was probably a fair comment.
Anyway, we're really shit these days aren't we? Can't believe I used to rate Fletcher.

I dont know why everyone is on fletchers back! yes the guy is playing badly at moment and so is the whole team but he is a good player nad when keane was about he was displaying some good performances and got a few motm performances. But playing alongside someone who is inept at playing in the middle eg smith doesnt help matters. WTF not have a go at scholes? wtf fuck has he done in the last two seasons to merit a place in the team?

Also I dont understand how the players can be blamed for 3 poor seasons and be reason why we have such crap cover for senior players. We have had enough money over the years to have bought two great sides and have a team like, juventus,milan or chelsea even, surely something is wrong with the management side of things.

It doesnt matter if he hasnt got a decent midfielder playing with him. Even at the best of times he cant pass or shoot....and when did he put in these great performances or recieve mom awards.
Scholes may not be playing well but thats what happens when age catches up with you but atleast hes always had and used his ability for the good of us.

The begining of the season against everton and in the champions league quilifier but not just those mom awards he played well. Scholes is only 31 your talking like hes some fucking old man, and what are you talking that hes always used is his ability for the good of the team like he is some super hero! He aint done shit all this season or last season, so he aint got no right to be in the team in my opinion and then people have cheek to aim abuse at smith who isnt a fucknig midfielder and fletcher who has at least played well this season for us otherwise he wouldnt have started so many games, besides fletcher is really a winger so hes also getting played out of position.

Get your head out of Fletcher's arse for a minute and then talk. The only reason Fletchers ever looked good is because of the quality of players around him. As him being a winger, didnt you catch the early part of his career when he played there unsuccessfully and we were told he was naturally a central midfielder. Well hes done bugger all in that position aswell.
We all admit Scholes has been shit for us recently but we know what hes capable of and with other senior players unavailable theres not too many options.
