Ruud didn't dive? which game where you watching?...contact was none to minimal. and even so he clearly went for the foul, he would have never caught the ball in time. i really get sick when you complain about the ref when some of your players were guilty of every dirty trick in the book. (ie Ruud and Ronaldo). ronaldo was falling over himself throughout the game like he had a possy of snipers trying to pick him off. not trying to take a dig or start a a flame war or antyhing. also its a disgrace to see heinze act unsportsmalike. not only this game but i've seen him act this way on numerous occations. apart from those three u guys played a good game and deserved to win albiet the score was abit flattering.
baggs, i was wacthing the same game, where on the replay you can clearly see given's hands streching out and touching ruuds boots.... no doubt it my mind, and ronaldo was fouled numerous times, see the carr foul, that should have been a straight red, the ref was horrible, all you have to do is look at that carr fould and you can see the ref just plain sucks

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

David Jones who we've got on loan at Preston had a good game for them today in a 4-0 win at Ipswich. Scored a great goal and set one up too. Looks a talented player. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a 3 man midfield in the Fletcher sort of role if he carries on progressing. I think he could do a job.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

Yeah Jones is a great player. I've seen him play for the reserves and he's definately another one to watch. He isnt our reserve team captain for nothing (well atleast he was before the loan).
This loan deal will only do him good cuz I remember Beckham going there on loan and coming back to achieve what he did at United.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

I was watching the rerun of the Newcastle game on MUTV and during the post match interview, Ruud said that he had a chat with Sir Bobby Robson before the game and since it was exactly one year after his sacking, he promised him a goal which he will dedicate to him.
And as we all know, he scored it.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

Thought you were pretty ordinary at the weekend apart from the obvious Mr Rooney, IMO i think it came down to Ruud not holding the ball up well enough, and alot of your moves broke down at him. Still good result the derby should be a cracker!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

Whats all this about Rooney swearing on camera?

when the scoreline should have read 4-0, i doubt thats ordinary, the moves broke down when the ref decided to look away on carr, and then again when his head was stuck up his arse when ruud got tripped.... the defense was solid, Heinze especially, nothing ordinary about that, ronaldo had a ordinary game, i will give you that, but overall a 2-0 scoreline that could have easily read 5-0 is far from ordinary

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

Blaming the ref now.... decsions like that work themselves out, from a playing performance point of you it was a ok display, I stick by my point with Ruud his hold up play is what let you down, just a observation!

your right we we're pretty poor, we made a few chances but regardless of us looking abit dodgy we didnt conceed which is a good sign when your not playing well.

The ref was shocking but the players kept their heads and it didnt matter in the end...

I note with interest that when Kevin Pietersen celebrated England's first test victory in the Ashes a few weeks back and said "f**king get in there" neither Channel 4 or SKY saw it fit to 'apologise' for the use of language as SKY did on Sunday when Rooney scored and said 'f**king beauty" even challenged about it and told he needs to 'calm it down' by that great ex professional footballer, er, Geoff Shreeves.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

If it was an England goal then there wouldnt have been a problem.
And I agree with Rooney. It was a f*ckin' beauty. But also bad defending.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

the touch rooney used to settle the ball to setup his finish was world class...
where is dom demonico, and his assesment that rooney is just a fad......

A fad!!!!!!!!!

WTF, the kid is top class he was great last season and seems to have improved on that this season.

Like you said his touch with his left foot to set himself up was quality, good finish aswell he seems capable of doing anything.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

His control of the ball is immense but it is his pace which seems to be the most amazing ability to me.Rooney absolutely skinned Faye whom had at least a yard ahead of the youngster. The energy, the acceleration the raw power is just unbelievable.Come to think of it,Rooney somehow reminds me of Jonah Lomu,so huge, yet so fast and powerful!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

I think "The Beast" suit Rooney more than Baptista.

yeah exactly, i just remember don saying how rooney is a fad, and just something for the english press to goat about... as we can all see, he is clearly becoming one of the worlds dominant players...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

Just saying, thats what i heard!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

Shrek and Donkey?? Hahaha...I think Donkey refers to Ronaldo, what a perfect match! Anyways,I'm a bit disappointed that we didnt get any new midfielders in the club. The transfer window closes tonight and havin a look at other clubs pulling some of the best bargain transfers ever(eg Bouma,Nuno Valante,Ferarri,Owen) it hurts even more.Again,Phil Neville shouldnt have left us.I have only one answer to why we didnt make any moves for a new midfielder...because,come january we should and would be getting John Obi Mikel.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread - So Obi is coming to OT??

Nah it was Van Nistelrooy, horse face donkey face same thing :p

Hah even though i dont even thikn he looks like a horse face, i wonder why people say that.
