Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Man United have signed a new striker from Nigeria.

On his first day of training, Fergie picked up the ball and said 'BALL' then pointed at the goal and said 'Goal. Then he demonstrated a kicking motion and said 'Kick' understand, 'Kick ball, goal, GOOOOOAAAALLL!'

Eventually the young African plucks up courage to say "Excuse me Mr Ferguson but I speak very good English", to which Fergie replies ' Sit down son, I'm talking to Berbatov.'

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Part of me still hopes / thinks he'll come good. With all the flak he's had this year you'd think he'd be on a mission next season.
But then the other side says consider his age & that he's unlikely to change, he'd remain a luxury player that doesn't quite fit into a Manchester United team, and therefore worth looking to bring in someone else.

On to tomorrow. Think we'll need to cut off Bale seeing as he's been immense the last few weeks, so reckon Valencia will start on the right. Question is, do we risk Neville behind him where there's no way he'd keep up with him, or opt for Wes now he's back in the squad?
Might also be time for Berbs to put in an impressive shift tomorrow to silence the Spurs fans...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Where's the brazilian? He should be able to handle him if he did a good job against Ribery.

As for Berba, I cant say single bad word about his attitude. I think he's doing the best he could and I really feel for him. He just doesnt seem like the right player for us though. I never did and never will. And I can't help but think if it wasnt for his signing, Tevez would still be with us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Raf!

There's no doubting his quality, he just doesn't seem to be a United player. I still think that if he communicated more on the pitch we'd reap the rewards. I said a few pages back that our players seem to just not know what he's going to do at times (he'll be in the same situation several times in a game and play a different pass every time), and that is frustrating.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Its a bit of both, SAF not having a system for him and Berba not playing good enough to get pushed in. 4-3-3 is the essential these days and unfortunately for Berbs we have a certain Wayne Rooney :))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He's really not as bad as everyone makes out. And why would you rather Tevez was still here? Contrary to the myth he actually played more than Rooney and Berba last season and scored what, 9 goals? Selfish, egotistical twat who wants it to be all about him and couldn't accept that he wasn't top dog at a big club, that's why he's doing so well at City.

Neville managed to handle Bellamy with relative ease so should be fine on Bale as long as Valencia is there to support him.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Just look back to the link up play between Rooney and Tevez the year before Berba came to the club. He didnt get a lot of goals for us but still scored more than Berba. And look at how many he's got this year.
I dont like how he said he didnt go to Liverpool out of respect and then signed for Man City but he wouldnt have even left the club if he was reassured of his position in the team. To me, this whole situation is just like Xabi Alonso leaving Liverpool. They should him no repect when they started looking into buying Barry. And we did the same with Tevez after buying Berba when we didnt need him (I mean, we had just won the League and the CL), then not putting a real offer for him on the table, then after we saw Ronaldo leave the club and fail to sign a suitable replacement, we come back to Tevez and say "here you go, theres the contract you've been waiting so long for".
I'm sorry but we handled that one quite badly.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I wish Berba would score tomorrow (if he plays), I can't help but feel it might be the end of his United carreer soon (I hope not). I really like the guy and I still think he's a great striker. He just never really fit into the team. He's had his moments though.

Tevez was also a great striker. Problem is he's not the type of player who'd willingly stay on the bench. He's young and he wants to play, but at United he'd always be Rooney's shadow. Still, I wish he'd have stayed. Seeing Rooney Ronaldo and Tevez tormenting defenders 3 years ago was brilliant.

As for tomorrow, I'd play O'Shea or Neville. I'm still a little pissed at Rafael, but not nearly as much as 2 weeks ago. :P

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What a finish from Nani. He's really stepped up a level or two this season. I guess this proves in some way that you need big players like Ronaldo to leave so that the others can fill the void.
But I couldnt help but notice he plays a little better on the right (again). Looks like another problem on our hands.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

watching nani aving a spat at berba ,then Macheda links perfectly w/ nani .Scores a peach of a goal and berba is the only player not celebrating he looked bothered  Berba is Legend

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He did celebrate, didn't he? I think I remember him holding Nani's head. Plus he played well today so there's not much to say about him.

Nani was brilliant, and so was Scholesy. They never seemed to be able to take the ball away from him, it's incredible.

Felt bad for Evra. Guy was throwing up on the pitch. I thought Nani was about to do the same near the end. :OH:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Fuck me left it late again didn't we, Nani did the business again which is becoming common.

Berbatov played well I thought, one thing I like today was he had more aggression about him today, seemed to run at defenders much more.

No Rooney for the rest of the season then, big test next week at Sunderland away from home.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It's Kiko time.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Kiko could very well be the new Solskjaer.

So very happy we got through this, what a great end to the match as well.

COME ON STOKE!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

i really can't see Stoke doing a lot tomorrow...i just hope that they don't get completely trashed by Chelsea...

Time for Berba to continue his nice plays and step up big time as Rooney is out for the rest of the season.....

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What did your players eat before the match (Evra and Nani)? FFS! I was having lunch in front of the telly, that was fucking disgusting :PUKE:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Haha it wasn't that bad, only water coming out, wasn't bright orange with chunks in or anything! Apparently Berba was sick too off camera.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I heard the problem was exactly the opposite. Since its so soon, no1 had lunch so they were filled up with those powerades and sh*t. Some stomachs can handle it, some can't.

It'll probably a walk in the park for Chelsea. Not expecting too much from Stoke. We'll have to wait next week.

I know when I'm sick, it feels worse throwing up with an empty stomach.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Throwing up actual sick is always preferable to empty stomach bile to be honest, bile is trully the worst tasting thing possible and it always makes you wanna throw up more, which makes it a vicious circle.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Congrats to Wayne, Been his year really (apart from that midget in Spain) been superb all season definitely deserves the accolade

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Might have been WPOTY if it wasnt for that little dude from Barca.
