Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Oh and Douglas Costa from Gremio has signed for Shakthar for €6m

They wanted £18m from us!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If I'm not mistaken, Shakhtar have invested in several Brazilian clubs for first option signings.. hence their overload of Brazilians.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Congrats to the lad, No doubt we pulled out due to financial reasons, the boy looks a real talent.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Whats our latest team news? I hope VDS will be back for us against Burnley to inject more calmness and stability to our backline.

The lads will come back from a successful training camp in Qatar...and look who is on this picture during training? :BOP:

Ando, HARGREAVES, Evra, Nev, Giggs, Scholesy, Berba, RIO and Carrick.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If and when Rio and Vidic get games under their belt and playing together, United will be a completely different team. Inject a bit of work rate Hargreaves can offer aswell.

The squad is there, the players are there it all just comes down to injuries in which they have been plagued with this season

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

-----------VDS-----------
-Rafael--Rio--Vida--Evra-
-----Carrick-Hargo-------
--------Anderson---------
--Valencia------Rooney---
---------Berbatov--------

If we one day manage to field that team and still can't create and play nice football...then I give up.

100 games of rotation for Fergie...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

That is probably the best possible team and formation we can play but it'll never happen because you've got Rooney out wide and Sir Alex has said that he sees Berba as a support striker.

(Sigh) Its pretty close to our best team for the CL except I'd probably have Brown for Rafael(Not ready to be a first team regular). Why is Hargreaves in your team and where is our best midfielder Fletcher? Giggs and Anderson is pretty close but Giggs is currently probably the better option.

100 games of rotation for Fergie...and 3 Premierships and 2 Champions League finals

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I thought Leeds was the 100th game? So Burnley will be 102 with Fletch being suspended.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Last time he played the same starting eleven for consecutive matches was at the tail end of the 2007/08 season, against Barcelona and West Ham at home:

-----------------------Van der Sar

Hargreaves-----Ferdinand-----Brown-----Evra

---Nani-----------Carrick------Scholes----Park

--------------------Tevez-------Ronaldo

I can still remember how tense the Barca game was and how pissed off I was with Nani when he got sent off against West Ham.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I can still remember Scholes epic goal and the amazing OT atmosphere at fulltime that night too :D

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Those 10 minutes were some of the longest 10 minutes of my life. For some reason I kept thinking back to Porto knocking us out in 2004 and I just had that feeling that it could easily happen again. And Messi scared the f*ck out of me everytime he got the ball on that right flank.
What a feeling it was at the end.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Been watching loads of compilations and bits of season reviews on youtube and I gotta say we are missing Rio's leadership skills A LOT!

Every goal we score he's right there doing the trademark hands on the scorers shoulders and jump in the air screaming thing and shouting in their face geeing them up. Right now there's no-one doing that and the team spirit seems a bit low compared to the fight we had in 06/07 and 07/08. I guess we had more to prove then.

COME BACK RIO!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We also miss his distribution from the back, Hope he can get back to his somewhat near his best

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Fear not, non-Dioufists would not understand. May The One have mercy upon your soul Beboq. If you could not see the true majesty of his home debut then you are a weak man and this is not your fault and The One will pity you.

All hail the one.

P.S. Fair play to Burnley for playing football and not sitting in 2 rows of 4, they had some very good chances and with better finishers would probably have beaten us.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I think the first thing Law needs to do is ship out Nugent and bring someone who can atleast hit the target.

I think what Jumbo meant was it was Diouf's home debut in the Premiership.

After hearing about Berba needing the op sooner rather than later...I think we should operate him now and sign a loan striker like we did with Henke Larsson a couple of seasons back...In the news today,Klass Jan Huntelaar wants a loan move like now.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

If he was gonna swollow his pride, he should have loaned Beckham back first.
