Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Sorry missed your edit.
And it wasn't baiting at all, I fully expect you and Abou to come in after any post about Liverpool and try to take the piss somehow claiming it's inaccurate/lies/biased/written by a Liverpool supporting journalist you had to Google and check first/etc because you just can't let anything positive get said in the LIVERPOOL thread without trying to have a say and make it negative.

That was my point. I said it ages ago, and it still stands, but I swear you spend more time in the LIVERPOOL thread than "your own". And no, I'm not going to research it on Google to bring up stats to back up my claim that you do spend more time in the Liverpool thread

I have said positive things about Liverpool before.

The thing about Liverpool fans is you can often seem quite detached from reality when it comes to your team, which is fair enough, but to other fans (not just Uniteds) this can be quite funny.

It's not just RedCafe that have a 'RAWK's In Meltdown' thread. Apparently they have them on Chelsea and Arsenal's main fans forums too. It's hard to explain without sounding like I'm having a dig but there's something different about Liverpool fans and I don't mean the cringeworthy rallying calls and 'What it means to support the greatest team in the land' shite that gets written in those essays you get a lot from your bunch.

The constant blind defence of Rafa and blaming of the owners is probably justified in some cases but the fact every defeat and failing Rafa makes is met with 100% support is what makes it so funny and makes everyone else laugh more.

I can't really explain it but there's a reason your fans get more shit than anyone else and it's not cos we're all jealous.

Tell you what I'd love to see though. How about emailing Paul Tomkins (Liverpool writer and whos blog posts I regularly copy onto this forum) and have a discussion with him about how he's so biased and has incorrect info. I'm not the greatest at going through trawling the internet for facts to back up my claims but I'm sure he'd have a field day with your claims that he's wrong. And likewise, I'm sure you'd have fun trying to pick his claims apart as well. It'd make fun reading :)

Maybe I will. :) It was Hunter who I said was incorrect with his claim that Rafa has so far refused to blame finances for the clubs performances when I'm sure you'll agree Rafa has been saying this for almost 2 seasons.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

First time to Old Trafford...the atmosphere is amazing!! kinda sad that Rooney, Berba didn't really come to play. I have to say that Park didn't really deserve to start, he had some nice plays, but most of the time he was wasteful. But the one that I realy have to say played poor was Carrick!! His passes were miserable...so wasteful! 9/10 of his passes didn't connect. (can also be since not much movement were available up front). Can see why gibson came on for Anderson instead of carrick as our d-line is a bit shaky, but I'd much rather have Obertan in and give us some more flair.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Wow, go Giggsy. Now if only he could put in a first half performance...

Fergie better not have rested him on Saturday for that! ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

yeah hes got a slight injury, might be a calf strain, cant remember tbh

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Good win, Was pretty boring but with our current injury list its more than enough.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Looks like Vida is out for the weekend, another calf strain. Plus Brown did his hamstring.

Back to Carrick, Fletcher, DeLaet and Evra. Now there's a world class back 4.

What the hell are our defenders doing? Have they forgotten how to warm up ffs!?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I know we're struggling a little bit but I guess we have no choice but to give them all an extended rest incase stuff like this happens again.
I think our new look defence is doing the job just fine.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We haven't exactly come up against top opposition with them yet though. Saying that we lost to Villa (although that was partly down to our frontline having an off day) but then Grafite didn't turn up in Wolfsburg and Dzeko grabbed a goal but other than that we've not been troubled by a decent forward.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Back to Milan we go... I wonder how Beckham will fare against his old team.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I honestly think I'd cheer him scoring a trademark free kick against us. What a strange feeling.

Will be weirder if Ruud went to Liverpool. Would really struggle not to chant rrrruuuuuuuuuuddddd if he scored.

Damn you Fergie.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

thanks for the great video! just reminded me what we've been missing. and it just struck me all over again what a great crosser of the ball he is. arguably the best crosser in his time, and maybe even now. can't wait for him to come back to old trafford.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Worst performance of the season. But I can't say I'm surprised, Fulham are very good, on great form, and Zamora is a centre forward playing against Carrick and Fletcher at the back. We had no balance whatsoever.

This injury crisis has derailed our season. I hope for the rest of it we focus on the CL, and give the youngsters a chance.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yup that somes it up.

That's our fifth loss this season and each time we've failed to score. Worrying.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

There's too big a gap between the strikers and the central midfield. Scholes barely makes it past the centre circle, nor Gibbo (and when he does he shoots) so the strikers are always left double or triple teamed. Rooney's good, but he can't deal with that.

Worrying indeed.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Even Sir Alex is gracious in defeat this time.We were awful but we have to feel for the lads putting for putting in their shift, especially our defence...or the lack of it perhaps.

I felt Rooney,Berbatov and Scholes should have done more.Ryan Giggs should have started in place of Gibson.I feel of Owen too because if he had started against Aston Villa,he might get that confidence running since the Wolfsburg game.He didnt so that explains his lost in the wilderness form at the Cottage.

I'm disappointed but filled with sympathy...I think I am going to take a nap.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Meh, Injuries have caught us up. Really worried about Rooney though, His goals are covering up what's a shocking below par season for the lad. 12 goals is quite the achievement still.

Berba needs a run of games but I can't see him getting it until we get our back 4 sorted.

Defensively its obvious to see why things are a mess which long term wise isn't a concern but our attacking play has become so dire its not even funny. We've always been a exciting side to watch and the only times we've been doing that is when Giggs has been on form.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The defensive injury crisis really is shocking, the amount of players injured is absolutely terrible. What happend yesterday would easily happen to any other team with the amount of players out. Yes the attack was poor, but Iam a firm believer in that the confidence of a team starts at the back and then works it way through the team and thats why the attackive players were poor, lets just hope United dont lose any more players and start picking up points. If touching distance is kept with Chelsea then the chance is still there.
