Gawddamnit...looks exactly like his dad!!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Christ he is tall.

I think we'll do surprisingly well, but I'm not expecting us to win. If we do it'll either be from a poor Wolfsburg performance, or something magical from our lads.

I think the way that SAF is looking at it, that we're already through and whether we come first or second we're likely to get decent opposition in the next round either way, is the best way to approach it and it'll take a lot of pressure off the lads who are playing and that should make life easier.

One thing I am worried about though is our new centre-back Evra vs Dzeko in the air.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Probably one of the most bizarre circumstance of injuries in recent memory.

A back four of Park---Fletcher---Carrick---Evra against the German champions.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

how did we pull this through with such a defensive line??

and Owen...haha, guess that he still has it within him!! Nice play by Obertan in that second goal...

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

My god I love this club.

Who else could do that in the circumstances?

I know Wolfsburg were commiting men forward but 3-1 away in Europe against the German champions with that team is a superb result.

Hatrick for Owen too, that'll do his confidence wonders. The finish on the 3rd was sublime.

Obertan's run for the 2nd was just  I love him. 2 assists in 15mins.

So fucking happy.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Owen should have scored the chance just before his third goal, but I cant complain really. That hatrick was just what he needed.
I'm really liking how consistant our second string have become over the years. The season can only get better from here.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

That was brilliant. :D

Forgot to mention, it was actually a back three of Fletcher---Carrick---Evra. :CONFUSE:

That was great, owen and obertan was great.the first and second goal was imense:))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I just had an Obergasm! But maybe I'm going Ober the top.

I honestly don't think Owen is good enough though, I mean, he only scored three of his four shots, he's past it.

:D

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Injury crisis yet Owen is fit and scores a hatrick.

The scouse must be livid they turned him down

OWeND

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

:LMAO: Even better we've managed to top their "Injury Crises" then go onto win 3-1!

Really good stuff for Owen to get the hat trick. Obertan's assist was brilliant, I can see him making the left spot his own by the end of the season.

I said it before but being a supporter of Manchester United is just too easy (apart from the late shows which are brilliant but not good for the heart :DD)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I don't think anyone expected us to get a result like that - what a brilliant performance from the boys, though if Carrick had conceded that penalty in the first half it might have been different...

Apparently we might have a solution to our injury problems:
Sol Campbell (are we just trying to piss off our rivals by signing their 'past it' players ;))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

What a strange match - thought for 60 mins they were the team that looked far more dangerous, yet we ended up winning 3-1!

So proud of our boys. I mean, a 3-5-2? We've almost never played that, yet they coped pretty well aside from a few crosses. Completely minimised Misimovic and Grafite.

And I guess that's Owen in a nutshell. Fairly rubbish for 91 of the 94 minutes, only touches the ball about 4 times and scores 3 goals.

Does anyone else think Danny Welbeck is the emperor's new clothes? He lacks composure, a footballing brain, touch, a good shot, understanding of the offside rule, passing...I don't really get why he's rated tbh. Don't see it at all.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He's been a brilliant player for us at reserve level and has shown enough class at times last season for the first team to see just how good he is.

He's only just turned 19.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Inconsistent yeah but he hasn't played well in any of the games I've seen.

He's a lazy bastard, his first touch is shocking, he gets bullied off the ball far too easily and he's about as lethal as a kitten with no legs.

Honestly he's like a shit Heskey.

He's played better in the Carling Cup than the Champions League so far this season.

Far too early to write him off.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I dont know where these Sol Campbell rumours are coming from but I think he can still do the job for us....I think Sir Alex still admires him...we were looking into getting him to join us back then but he decided to join the Arse.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I wouldnt mind him joining. As long as he's happy to accept that when the whole squad is fit, he's not gonna get many games then he'd be a brilliant signing IMO. Owen, Obertan, Sol, this could be the cheapest title defence we've had in a while.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I worry about his pace though, he wasn't too fresh at Portsmouth last season.

We're doing alright with Carrick and Fletcher at centre-back anyway, if anything we should think about selling Rio or Vidic. ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Whose that?

I new the Sol Campbell rumours were rubbish, not like were short of CB's just had 6 of them injured at one time.

Will be a good game tomorrow I think. I wonder if Owen's done enough to get himself a start after the hat trick. I hope Fletcher starts at CM. We need him their for this one, especially if Carrick is still needed at CB.

Valencia has been in top form lately so hopefully he can keep going and maybe grab another goal/assist.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I wanted to say something earlier but you lots all creaming over this thread  I think it says lots about SAF to manage a crisis as this and still win games convincingly . It`s bothersome :CURSE:... sorry for being harsh and honest .

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

 Im sure it is but you lot can take comfort in knowing he won't be around forever :((

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We just need to get through the Christmas period. Once the African Nations Cup kicks off, its our time to have fun. ;)

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeepee, a draw at the Bridge. Now we just need to win against Villa and we'll be level.
