I think we've come to expect that when a good team comes to OT, presses us and pushes men forward.

Porto did the same last year.

Wolfsburg probably deserved a bit more out of the game although our defence restricted them to few clear chances.

Grafite and Dzeko were both a handful, just as I fully expected.

Rooney has loads of energy ,but giggs is pure class! He doesn`t have the legs anymore but his intelligent make up for it.Berba imo is the reason Mutd aren`t ripping Europe apart . How can Berba walk when the ball is moving up near the box.His run started too late he could of chest the ball down and took the shot when giggs crossed to him .The replay made him look lazy

We played with much more fluidity when Berba came on.

He alone set up two clear chances, the back-heel for Valencia and the great flick for Carrick.

He was one of our best players.

As I said, he was great when he first came on, and then just faded into his usual obscurity.

flicking the ball for a pass doesn`t contribute for the best player by my standards :LOL: I rather take a striker who ran to the back and stop the attack and call him the best player.Then berba the sleeping bear

If by "faded into his usual obscurity" you mean held up the ball well and provided an attacking outlet, especially on the counter, I'd agree with you.

But yeah, he was much better in the first half than the second.

Don't be daft, he was generally one of our best players, very economical with the ball, especially without Scholes in the side, and created a couple of clear cut chances and many half chances.

He wasn't fantastic but he was good. It didn't help that Rooney played further ahead of him and was pretty subdued. He doesn't need to run around like a headless chicken to get his contribution noticed by me.

He still needs to be able to grab a game by the scruff of its neck, like he did at Leverkusen and sometimes at Spurs, as well as getting some luck in advanced positions and scoring some tap ins ala Stoke, basically being in the right place at the right time.

Great result. As soon as we scored that equalizer I knew we would win that match.

And I wouldn't call it an awful performance. Wolfsburg is a solid team and they made it really hard. United had plenty of chances and were unlucky to be behind, even scoring two goals that shouldn't have been disallowed.

I feel a bit sorry for Owen, going off after only 20 minutes in front of Capello. I think his chances of him reaching the World Cup are (almost) gone.

We did ok, I thought we started sloppy which helped them get into the game. Berbatov came on and then brought us back into it. Some people won't appreciate what he brings and I think that won't change. His ability to bring others into play or pick the right pass with telling accuracy is just awesome. Football is played at such a high pace and he makes it look like he's controlling himself with a gamepad in his living room.

I think Valencia is a good player, I think he just needs to improve certain elements of his game. he's also more of a natural winger than the modern day "Wide Forward" he's a good option for when we need someone to do the simple things right. (We'd have a beast of a player if we could combine him and Nani)

Berbatov is and always will be one of the most underrated player in United's squad. Still, I love this guy. The way he controls and keeps the ball make football look so damn easy. I'd say he's probably one of our most skillful player together with Giggs. He's also got great vision and passing. He really brings something to our team.

But I dont think he works that well alongside Rooney. Owen suits him a lot more but that sadly means you'd have to sacrifice Rooney. Even Kiko would be good alongside Berba.

I think SAF decided we weren't going to find another Scholes so we needed to have that in the team. We've gone with Rooney and Berbatov who are both creative forwards in that sense to accommodate for our future midfield.

Thats understandable but then you lack a proper target man who can use Rooney and Berba's creativity. I think we could try 4-3-3 again with all three strikers on the pitch but then you lose your width.

Or you can play with only one winger on the right and expect Evra to overlap more often on the left. That way we can use Rooney, Berba and Owen/Kiko at the same time and still have 2 central midfielders (preferably holding players like Fletcher, Carrick or Hargreaves). Atleast thats how I'd do it. But that'll obviously never happen cuz its something that'll either work really well, or f*ck us up big time. And I doubt Sir Alex would take that kind of risk.

He must`ve of read my views of him I`m skint said Berbatov worst thing for a footballer to do is justify his style w/ stats :CONFUSE: he said he doesn`t run for no reason yeah not even on the counter-attacks . Well I guess he`s aware of his problem which no footballer really admits so that`s real big of him and bold to say the least. We all know SAF is part of this so I think Berba will prove me wrong :SMUG:

i don't have a problem with berbas work rate. he isn't the type of player to run around and pressure the defenders, he's there to be creative.

I just don't think he'll ever fit into our team, and as such, he'll always look like he's underperforming for us.

That plus his price tag will mean the fans will always be on his back.

He's a wonderful footballer but we should never have bought him.

The thing for Gary Neville is.. Hes not from Liverpool. Whats wrong celebrate infront of your rival fans? Adebayor case is diff. He was from Arsenal. And he went to Arsenal Fans and celebrated like he never been to Arsenal before. So sad.

Strange game that. I think Sunderland had 3 shots on target all match, one that was from a striker goalkeeper collision that I 100% promise you would have been given a foul if it was Petr Cech. I think it's great they let strikers go for high balls against keepers, but they don't. It's inconsistency again.

We were utterly woeful for the vast majority of the match, but still grabbed a point. And might have got the 3 points right at the death. Interesting time keeping, btw, he blew at 93:58, despite a goal being scored in stoppage time and a MINIMUM of 4 mins. Guess he must be in Uniteds pocket too. THat coupled with no less 4 handballs that would have been penalties...aw what the hell, United still have the officials on their side...

Cracking from Berbatov, but limp from the rest of the team. Oh, Nani was okay in the second, believe it ornot. We had somethingl ike 15 corners. You need to make em count.

I wouldn't complain about the inconsistency of such decisions and rather complain about Ben Foster cocking up yet again, and also why the hell didn't we stop the damn goal in the first place.

And what exactly was cracking from Berbatov? The goal? Yes, alright. That was it though, he was absolutely nowhere until he did that.

And I don't know what's up with Rooney at the minute, but he can get to the fucking reserves if he's just gonna sulk and act like he doesn't give a shit. Better yet, we'll just sell him to Madrid instead.

Yeah, we own the FA, and we paid Anton to put through his own net, deal with it.

Oh and he never played for us, so it's just a United players brother.

We were poor, but credit to Sunderland they played well, kept hold of the ball and caused problems. I thought Malbranque was superb and Ferdinand and Turner defended really well.

Whats happened to Vidic? I counted at least 5 times where he went for a header from a Sunderland goalkick or punt upfield and made absolutely no contact or skimmed it, dunno whats got into him, he's meant to be our most aerial dominant centreback.

Foster isn't up to it. He's too nervous and I don't think he's got the temperment to be a top keeper.

Rooney had an off day, as did Fletcher and Scholes and Nani was awful in the first half but much better in the second.

Mathero - not sure what you mean about Berba I thought he was probably our best player.

I wish I was on the same stuff as you Jumbo, cause I honestly don't remember him doing anything until he scored his goal. He perked up after that, but he still looked off the pace, and that perkiness didn't last for too long.

And it was pissing me off everytime we had to clear the ball and it was coming right back because he was probably having a chat with Craig Gordon instead of doing anything about getting the ball and holding it up.

He just doesn't do enough in a match, I think we'd be a better team without him, hell I didn't wanna say it, but we'd be a better team if he'd left instead of Tevez.

He was the only one probing and trying to make stuff happen. The midfield was so poor so him and Rooney were getting nothing (that's the reason Wayne was so pissed off). Welbeck was poor and Nani was awful in the first half, so when Berba was trying to link play up he was getting nothing in return from those two, and Fletch and Scholes couldn't pick a pass to save their life.

Berba's just a scapegoat for some United fans. He gets critised regardless, there were 6 or 7 lads out there who were terrible yet he'll get stick anyway.
