Manchester United Thread

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Interesting, Nani goes off and we win the game.

Or is it just that Giggsy is still that damn good?

Glad he's on the back of my shirt, he should never, ever retire.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Giggs for Ballon D'or? How fucking good was Scholes? Past it my arse. Both pure genius.

Normal service is resumed people. check your Premiership tables.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

It was once said that we couldnt win the title with kids.
I dare someone to tell Giggs and Scholes that you can't win the title with old players either.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Still don't think we'll win it this year. And am beginning to get worried about Pool again. Still, we've been lovely to watch the past few games, long may it continue.

Hopefully we can take this form into the next 3 league matches, and if we can win in Wolfsburg we'll be a long way towards qualifying for the CL knock outs. Hopefully October will be a great month!

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I swear I didn't believe we'd make it four in a row but think about it.

- Chelsea will inevitably repeat last year and Roman will sack Ancelotti.

- Most of Arsenal's team won't be able to play because they'll have homework and coursework to do.

- Liverpool won't win it, because they're Liverpool and we're getting to 19 before they do.

- Cit£h won't win it because they'll buy a whole new squad in January and won't be able to gel before the season ends.

- Spurs won't win it because they're Spurs.

So that just leaves us to win it doesn't it? Unless Pompy pull off the mother of all comebacks :P

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We'll see. I'm loving that there are now realistically 5 (or 6 if you count Spurs) teams that will take points off one another. Meaning loads of title-impacting games.

The Wolfsburg game is at home mate but I agree with your sentiments.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

One of my friends posted that on Facebook.

I've seen tonnes of those now and I thought the humour was wearing off but this one really made me laugh.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

The slow but gradual Super League is forming.

Yeh, it's back to the Big 4 again.

Oh, and Ancelotti's a different manager to Scolari. Chelsea will be up there come the end of the season.

Don't really see Arsenal as a threat.

Owen Hargreaves Update:

Sir Alex Ferguson is pleased with how Owen Hargreaves' rehabilitation is progressing.

The England international has been sidelined for more than 12 months following surgery on both his knees.

Manchester United are hoping that ground-breaking surgery will help Hargreaves overcome tendinitis, something he has suffered since before his move to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich.

The 28-year-old is slowly stepping up his training regime, but United have included him in their UEFA Champions League squad and they are looking at a possible return in November.

"Owen is doing very well," said Ferguson.

"Obviously he is delighted to be back because it has been such a long time and I am very pleased with his progress.

"We will probably get him into football training in 10 days' time and depending on how well he does he should be back at the beginning of November.

"We will take our time because the important thing is to get him playing to the right level. We are in dialogue with him all the time and the physio who was doing his rehabilitation over in America.

"It means we can jointly understand all the treatments and rehabilitation he has been doing."

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Going to be a good game tonight. I think we should dominate the match but if Grafite or Dzeko get a chance expect them to score.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I can see us underestimating them in the first half and them having a fair few good chances early on.

Cue hairdryer treatment and we'll beat them in the second half.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Good news about Hargreaves.

Assuming when Hargreaves is back he's the same player, who would be first choice between him and Fletcher now? Either way, it's fantastic to have the option.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Certainly a tough choice, purely because Fletch has become one hell of a brilliant player over the past couple of years, and I'd say he's pretty much indisposable at the minute.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Id play them both which means giving the wingers and the full backs licence to roam.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Remember calling Fletcher, 'huff and puff' a few weeks back.

He's been pretty good, hasn't he? :CONFUSE:

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

He's been immense for about 6-8 months now. Started showing signs with a flurry of goals and decent performances at the start of last season and then towards the end of the season and all of this season he has been irreplacable. The first name on the team sheet without doubt.

We've lost something ridiculous like 1 in the last 48 games he has started, and that was against Fulham when Scholes and Rooney got sent off.

Just shows you can spend all the money in the world on stars but sometimes a quiet, hardworking lad from the youth setup can eventually turn out to be an absolute diamond of a player.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well that really was an awful performance, we were flat the entire night, and but for flashes of quality passing I'm not really sure how we had 16 or so attempts on goal.

Rooney was extremely quiet, and Berbatov had a nice spell for 10 minutes when he came on then did shit all after that.

Thank the lord for Giggsy and also for Carrick returning to some sort of form.

Oh and tell Valencia to actually use his pace and go past someone instead of stopping and passing backwards, you're a fucking winger so act like one.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah Valencia isn't playing well at all, he needs time to settle in and he needs to try something else cos he's so predictable right now. Run at pace, slow down, try to push it out onto right foot ahead of defender, if doesnt work roll back and stop, then try again, cross with right foot... every time.

I thought Berba did really well, made a couple of mistakes but he wasn't alone.

Vidic was pretty poor, should have been sent off if we're being honest. He's gotta stop it with the taking players out.

Giggs is in unbelievable form! Scored against Spurs. 3 assists in the derby. 2 assists on Saturday. An assist and a goal tonight.
