Manchester United Thread

Not taking any chances...

I hope he stays. Nuff said ;))

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say I bet we'll get beaten by Burnley tonight.

There should be an early shock as there is every season, and we usually lose to a promoted team at some point.

If it doesn't happen and we win, great, but I said it first :P

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well if we lose now, I'm personally holding you responsible. :P

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We'll definitely concede, who knows what our back line will be. Plus Ando and Carrick don't protect them all that well. Will come down to how many we can score. I could see us going down by 2, then coming back.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Normally I'd agree, but this article had quotes from his agent. Normally forging quotes is illegal, wheras making dodgy references to newspaper articles is kind of just creative journalism.

ye of little faith quotes maybe to get vidic a hike in pay , only cause the agent wants a new boat, but Barca like to have more homegrown then out sourcing Vidic is good but better 4 MUTD Vidic agent rejects Barca talk

Yeah, another example of a media source just making up quotes. Surely that's libel? I just wish one year the players, coaches et al woudl get together and agree to sue the journalists everytime they lied. Or just shoot them all.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Will be a tough game but I doubt we'll lose, think it might be a goalless one. Burnley will sitback and soak it up. I think Owen will start, The kind of game were he can sniff out a goal.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Dissappointed Berba has been stuck on the bench. Maybe Fergie isn't giving him the big chance we thought he would. Sigh.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

I honestly can't see United struggling tonight at all, i know most are saying "it'll be a struggle, we might get beat" etc. but for some reason i see it going the opposite way, i can see United hammering Burnley 4 or 5 nil. I hope i'm wrong but i've just got a feeling.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Nah I wouldn't worry too much, Owen was bound to start after being on the bench for the last 2 matches and it's against a lesser team.

I bought him on fantasy football I was so sure he'd start :D

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Jesus christ we're terrible. Giggs is playing awful and the defence looks shaky too.

And you could just tell Carrick wasn't up for taking the penalty, he looked scared shitless! Why not let Anderson take it?!?

Gonna need a slice of luck or a moment of brilliance in the second half if we're gonna get anything from this as we're struggling to break them down, they're defending well.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

That 90 minutes from Ji Sung Park is the worst 90 minutes I have ever, EVER seen from a United player. He was actually a detriment to the team. Playing 10 men would have been more useful, because at least we wouldn't have been tempted to give him the ball s ohe could fall over and lost it.

But I don't blame him. Fergie deserves to be absolutely lambasted for tonite. His starting XI, his substitutions, his general attitude are all of a man that no longer cares.

Oh and all credit to Burnley, not only did they hold out resolutely, they didn't was time or cheat. Wonderful to see. I'm alright with the loss when it's like that.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Yeah they weren't scared to attack when they got the chance too, fair play to them.

Yeha I was gonna say when did Park sign for Burnley, terrible performance, notable mentions to Giggs and Anderson too.

Evra was pretty good in the first half and Rooney was the only other one who kept on trying, he can't do it on his own, we seemed to lack inventiveness again. Maybe we do need a 'flair' signing?

Dunno what to make of that, I really dont.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Well we had plenty of chances but nothing clear cut really. Carrick missed a penalty just before half time, if that had've gone in we might have gone on to win it as they wouldn't have had the lead to sit back on.

It was very uninspiring to watch put it that way.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

We were very very slow off the start and that made Burnley believe that the game was theirs for the taking.Awful first half by the lads.

I dont understand why we must always 'measure' to get a goal. The only one really trying his luck was Rooney but frustratingly, for all his shooting power,he got most of them direct to a Burnley defender.

I said before on my last post that we lacked the edge in the final 3rd and it clearly showed again tonite.

Owen shouldnt have gone off when we needed the goal.We should have gone for broke at 60mins and stop 'measuring'.

If this is the 'new kind of play' that Sir Alex has been raving about, then I am sorry...it just wouldnt cut it in the long run.

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

we were shocking today, no penetration, bad passing, great finish by Blake tho, Owen needs a goal to settle i think

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

How much is a single, one way ticket from Manchester to Seoul? Anyone willing to contribute?

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

Rooney and Berbatov both chasing the same ball and both stopping thinking each other had it fucking sums it all up at the minuet.

Looking at how many goals the rest of the top teams have scored already and looking at Uniteds is a bit of a worry to be honest even at this early stage

Re: Manchester United Supporters Thread.

dont worry mate, we started last season slow too
