Manchester United Thread

Oh yeah, didn't even notice I typed that  I must be getting carried away hearing all of these Blues with their flags our of the cars and mentioning Wembley constantly ;)

Unbelievable, if Rafa played the likes of Insua, Spearing and Ngog in a semi-final and left out the likes of Aurelio, Gerrard and Torres you'd all be saying Rafa's cracking up. Fergie does it and it's giving the youth a chance :LMAO:

As Alan Hansen famously once said... You'll never win it with kids. Fergie's proven that he's right to put his faith in the youngsters.

I don't think Rafa would reach a stage where he is competing on so many different fronts like Fergie, to be able to do that anyway. :P

Now surely that was a fucking pen! Riley is a fucking shite ref!

Fergie's reaction was legendary tho

Thought it was at first but seeing the replay and it wasn't in my opinion.

I need an animated gif of Fergie kicking off then though :LMAO: Brilliant!

Shocking penalty from Berba. Almost looked like he decided he couldnt be arsed halfway through the run up.
I can understand why we rested players but we rested a little too many IMO.

Well how should we feel after that.

Was a decent game, but you have to feel we could've/should've won it if he'd played a full team.

And then at the same time I'm glad he didn't cause I want to win the league.

Ah well, I knew it wasn't a good thing facing Howard in a shootout, I remember how good he was for us at saving them.

you played a weaker team because you're worried about us/chelsea.

thought you lot did well though, hardly anyone has turned over Everton this year, they've been excellent defensively, even though they never looked like scoring today.

Thought Tevez was immense, and Welbeck is quality IMO.

There were some good performances from some of our young players but I'm surprised Tevez didn't take a penalty. Also, I thought Nani should have come on at some point, would have given us an outlet for taking on defenders.

Because even the Utd fans found it hilarious.

I thought it was a pen btw, I don't know what Jagielka was thinking, clumsy.

~Hahaha!

Yeah it was a penalty but that's football, we didn't score, we paid the price.

I was suprised about Tevez not taking one and if Nani had've come on he could've taken one too. Seems strange.

Well done Everton :APPLAUD: (less smiling, just the clapping ;) )

I`ve seen berba take a penalty before is there something sinister about that pen. he took ,I mean looked more like a pass to Howard

Amusing, missed some of the match so didnt see that. At one point he is about the cross his arms aswell but decides against it at the last moment, after all that is just a terrible thing to do :D

Although will the press be going on about Moyles' amazing mind games in insinuating Riley was a manu fan. Can't help but think these comments influence the ref's on some levels.

there should really be video technology for fouls in the box, its so silly to have one man 15 or 20 yards away from the play calling everything.

To be fair, winning all 5 trophies with the kind of form we've been in is quite a demand. If we were ever gonna do it, it was last season.
Hopefully we get the two remaining trophies and then do it right next season including the Super Cup.
That would top Liverpool in terms of English titles and equal their 5 European Cups as well. And then Sir Alex can finally retire in peace.
Looking back on it now, this might have been what Sir Alex was thinking himself, which explains why he didnt take it so seriously today. (apart from that disallowed penalty of course)

yeah im not too fussed about the fa cup, SAF made it pretty clear what his intentions for this season are. it would have been a bonus if we won because he played so many kids but if we lost thats one less game for him and the players to worry about.

i hope everton win it, it'd be nice to see them win something.

First Zenit, now Everton... looks like the dream of winning every trophy is evaporating. Have to give credit to Everton, they battled all day long (and they only had one proper striker available) and wanted it more in the end.

Well...The Quintuple talk is over for the season, I was actually really suprised by the line up. I expected 2 or 3 to be rested while otherwise a full strength team. What we got was a extremely inexperienced set of youngsters.

I think the first half we were the better side not many chances either way though. the turning point was obviously the pen, not sure how he didnt give it. Why would Welbeck go down when all he had left to do was tap it into a empty net.

Berba's pen was pretty stupid and arrogant but its expected, if he scores the pen and we win then its pure class but it didnt work out. Overall we gave it a good go but didnt have the quality in the end to pull it off. on a good note though fuck me we have so many talented youngsters coming through its ridiculous!

----------Foster------------
Rafael--Evans--xxxxx-----Fabio
----- ----xxxxx-------------
Ljajic?---Petrucci----xxxxx--
-----Macheda--Welbeck-----

those IMO have the quality to make the grade here (Ljajic is more on what I hear though) Not sure any of the other clubs can boast that many talented youngsters except maybe Arsenal.
