Manchester United Thread

I can't tell personally. I think he's got great feet, good enthusiam, some speed and signs of being able to cross.

He also appears to have extremely limited positional sense, a tendency to go to ground too quickly in the tackle and little to no ability to combat an aerial attack.

For me this next year is going to be the tell-all on the twins. In his first few matches he appeared to have the RB slot nailed on, but he's been poor since (defensively, and in the end that's his job). I know he's adjusting and the language and all that, plus he's like 12 so certainly has time to learn. Just saying he's not the greatest thing since Gary's 'tache just yet.

But we can hope :)

(Fabio to start there on Sunday, £50 to who can tell the difference :) )

Why? Brazil are good at defending!

Talking of team predictions, some sterling work from the Telegraphs website. Going with the headline 'youngsters to get chance in final' and specifically mentioning Gibson and Welbeck they go with Foster, Neville, Vidic€, Ferdinand, Evra, Giggs, Ronaldo, Carrick, Scholes, Rooney and Berbatov.

EDIT: Just noticed they've changed it now :LMAO:

yeh iv been saying for weeks now chelsea are title contenders, liverpool never have been, its just the media got carried away!!! we'll have the title wrapped up by early april, mark my words!

Douglas Costa reminds me more of Adriano than Robinho.

Oh and if we win Wednesday, yeah, it's all over.

Meaning we can concentrate on retaining the Champions League which I reckon is more important.

Eh? Skinny short lad? Adriano and Walter seems like a fair comparison

Will be close game, I think the first 20 minutes will be vital hopefully the young lads dont bottle it.

Not playing your first team for a cup final? Odd decision considering the league is all but wrapped but anyway, right?

Yeah, with Vidic/Ferdinand, Rooney, Scholes and probably Ronaldo playing it's still a strong team. Fergie's just sticking to his philosophy of promoting youth and staying true to his word that the players that got us to the final with get to play in it.

Wow, can't believe that last minute of regular time. Nani has the compsure of an epileptic having a fit. My lord, last touch of regular time, an open net and he fluffs it.

At what point does Ronaldo start being judged for the game he's playing, and not for his past transgressions? Ridiculous booking.

Why isn't Rooney on the bench?

Good win, We didnt turn up today but we won and thats all that matters, Are squad is class the front 5 (not sure on Ronaldo) will be a different team on Wednesday.

-------Rooney-Berba----
Park--Carrick-Fletcher-?

So is that 2 for the season? (and a half with the league situation)

Could have been our 3rd trophy so far had we won the European Super Cup. :CONFUSE: Good performance by Foster, who showed signs that he might be the long term replacement for VDS. Ferdinand and Scholes deserve a mention for playing well and Anderson brought some much needed energy into the midfield when he came on.

Yeah Anderson was crackin when he came on, nice return to form especially considering he's just back from injury. Tevez was rubbish though, he's offered little lately other than running but I guess the lack of contract may be affecting him.

It can still be 3 trophies if we include the Community Shield!!?

Well credit to Spurs, they actually put up a fight and made it a decent game.
I think it was cuz we lacked a proper target man. Playing either Rooney or Berba alone up front makes sense. Even playing Ronaldo alone up front would have been much better, which BTW I was surprised not to see once Giggs, Nani and Ronaldo were all on the pitch together.
Tevez just isnt a target man. He's a brilliant support striker but not someone you'd expect to pass your final ball to. He may not have the best finishing or eye for goal but he's great for applying pressure and winning you the ball. And I think this allowed Spurs to push forward a bit.

That loss still bugs the hell out of me. I mean, if we go on to win every remaining trophy, how frustrating must it be to think that one single game denied us a clean sweep.
