Manchester United Thread

lol i know

i wont be thinking about that though even if we did go on. those trophies dont really count anyways.. we're better than zenit, they know it, we know it. sevilla won the uefa cup two years on the trot and didnt even make it into the last 16 of the cl.

I remember Sevilla made it to the last 16, and lost freakishly to Fenerbahce. Plus, they were having a traumatized season with the loss of Puearta :( and Juande Ramos. I can honestly say that years Sevilla could have made it to Semi Finals or even Finals of the CL depending on their luck, if it weren't for those 2 events.

oh yeah, you're right. i was confusing the years, my mistake. those games with fenerbahce were crazy, i forgot all about those.

they might have made it to the quarters, maybe even the semis if they got lucky enough (fenerbahce played chelsea in the quarters) but i doubt they would have made it to the final. it was all the english teams and barcelona.. much harder than rangers, fiorentina and tottenham which are the likes you have to beat to win the uefa cup. thats the point i was making, the champions of europe are the winners of the champions league, not the supercup. thats just a publicity thing for fifa and wouldnt have really counted for me. its like the community shield of europe.

How well did Rio & Foster play yesterday?
If Foster can keep that form he'll be first choice in no time.

Sorry guys, but you won't win the league. Arsenal are going to win it, sorry to break the news to you like this. :COAT:

lol, good joke bobby box, go bk to ur own thread and worry that wenger may get sacked in the summer!! Anyway, im thinkin that newcastle on weds will be a rout! if an average liverpool team can stick 5 past them, we could set records!!

I think Arsenal will be our biggest threat next season. May not win it but they have a chance.

Not next year. That's far too early. They're a young team, need to develop. The replacement for Fabregas and Van Persie will need time to gel next season...

Neither will leave mate. and all they require is a DM and a CB? knowing Wenger he'll snap up both for 10M while selling Adebayor for 30M. Most of there current lineup will act as the "Squad" next season and with the vital first team experience they've gained this season they'll even have a good squad (Atleast as good as yours if not better)

Yeah, I kind of agree. Injuries aside, a very realistic Arsenal would look like:

---------Almunia----------
-Sagna-Gallas-Toure-Clichey-
----------Song-------------
---------Fabregas----------
-Rosicky---------Arshavin--
-------RVP---Eduardo-------

That's pretty damn tasty, if too lightweight take off Rosicky/Arshavin for Eboue and you're still potent in attack. Can't see that team struggling to score anyway.

Well they'll add a player instead of Song and Song will be a backup. Then you have the likes of Vela, Nasri, Walcott, Bendtner, Denilson etc.

Dont know about next year...

i think the scousers may finally get what they want next year...

and challenge till at least april/may...

i reckon arsenal are at least 2 seasons away, and thats if they can keep star players/manager...

From Red News:

Cristiano Ronaldo's caution in the Carling Cup final may have been ill-deserved - but at least it was well-timed in terms of the FA's disciplinary calendar.

The Portuguese winger's fourth yellow card in domestic competitions fell on 1 March - the day after the cut-off point for the five-bookings rule. A fifth caution for Ronaldo at this stage of the season would only earn him a warning now, instead of a ban.

That will surely be good news for Sir Alex Ferguson, who initially feared Ronaldo would be "near to missing a game" when referee Chris Foy booked the Portuguese winger after first rejecting his claim for a penalty against Tottenham's Ledley King.

The FA's Disciplinary Procedures document states: "If a player accumulates five recorded cautions in First Team Competitive Matches between the opening day of the Playing Season and the last day in February in the same season, he will be suspended automatically for a period covering One First Team Match."

i think united fans miss the good old days of the famous rivalry between arsenal and united and all the banter that goes with it. its just not the same with chelsea and liverpool.

For all those that think referees are biased towards United, can you explain to me what you think would have had happened had Wayne Rooney or Cristiano Ronaldo have forearmed a newcastle player in the head, than lunged two footed into another player a second later? Apparently that's a yellow card offense...

And which part of his body did Bassong used to stop Berbatov's cross?
