Giggs at left back would be more attacking than O'Shea with Park on the wing. Hopefully it's not needed and Ronaldo will start to play like we know he can.

 Ronaldo in the commercial, He's hated because hes THAT good, he's the first player from this country to be officially named "World Player of the Year" and it isnt like we have had bad players before him.

Fabio isnt fit and probably wont feature this season IMO. O'Shea will play there, he may not be the best going forward but he's a good reliable player. Hopefully Ronaldo, Rooney and Berba all start hitting better heights, Tevez is pretty much a gonner now for me, everything points to us not wanting to pay how much Kia wants. Its a shame as Carlitos could go on to be a club great.

O'Shea actually looked solid when he came on against Chelsea.
It could have been a one off though!

If it comes to it, I'm sure Anderson could do a good job at LB too.

Giggs is perfect for the LB position. Its just a question of whether he can last 90 mins with all that running. But his attacking and defending is amazing at times especially for a guy of his age.

I see Gill has responded to rafa:

from Bloomberg

David Gill, Manchester United’s chief executive officer, said he is taking criticism from Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez “with a pinch of salt.”

Benitez last week accused United manager Alex Ferguson of intimidating referees and two days ago questioned whether Gill’s position on the board of the Football Association, English soccer’s ruling body, represented a conflict of interest.

Benitez, who is in his fifth season at Liverpool, “should understand how football structures work,” Gill said in an interview in Hong Kong today. “I’m not the only person on the F.A. board representing the Premier League; we’re elected every year by the Premier League clubs to represent them.”

Benitez, 48, was quoted by the BBC as saying “it is a fact that one person has a lot of power and control and is on a lot of committees in the F.A. To me that is very strange. Is there a conflict of interest with David Gill at the F.A.?”

Gill said today he acts on behalf of the 20 Premier League teams, not just United, in his role at the F.A. Phil Gartside, chairman of Bolton Wanderers, and Premier League Chairman Dave Richards also sit on the association’s board.

“It happens through the season, various comments are made and we get on with it,” Gill, 51, added. “We’ve got very important games coming up, we’re not going to get carried away with it.”

The FA have also decided not to charge Manuel with his comments..

I s'pose you cannot charge someone for being an idiot..

Thats quite true about Giggsy,Rune...his backtracking and tackling is probably on par with the best fullbacks we have other than Evra at the moment or before,even...

The last time he played that, for a brief period, forgot which game that was...he got go good rollicking by Vidic for not holding up the line!! Hahahaha....

Anderson have said before he could even play left fullback.

O'Shea is actually good at LB...that season he debuted for us,he was a monster there...BUT our pace back then was much much slower...When we got Evra,an extra dimension was created there and we couldnt look back ever since.

I know palacios is actually quite good, but how terrrrrible was O'Shea tonight? Every attack taht game at him either got into the box or he put out for a corner. We didn't let them have any 'golden' opportunities, but everything was pretty mediocre. And how Tevez screwed up his 1 on 1 is beyond me. Anyway, 3 points are 3 points.

Congrats to Cristiano Ronaldo on his top gong...

however, losing Evra for nearly a month is a big blow...darn it..maybe we should give Fabio a chance now cause I had enough of O'Shea already.

I thought O'Shea was well liked at OT?

We like him but we know hes shit.

Anyways, without Rooney we're woeful up front to be honest, I'd be surprised if Bolton don't cause an upset on Saturday.

Still, we won, and thought I was bloody freezing, nice to see us move up a place. Was worth scaling Everest (also known as the North Stand)

Sorry re: Palacios, realise it was Valencia, just shows how much O'Shea affects my blood pressure!

Serious issues with last night's performance, though credit has to go to Wigan. They're a big, tough side that play some good football too. We were disjointed, lazy and lacked any penetration in the second half. Ronaldo seems to actively avoid defending from the top, and I know it's not his strength, but with him and Berbatov happily watching Wigan defenders play the ball to their midfielders it provided a great contrast with the effort Wigan strikers were putting in against us.

If Fergie isn't overegging it (and he probably is), we could be without Carrick, Scholes, Ronaldo and Tevez on Saturday, and of course no Rio, Evra, Brown, Rooney or Hargreaves. Amazing how many games we have right now, Rooney might be out a mere 3 weeks, but miss 6 games. Craziness. We'll have had 3 games in 6 days after Derby match...

Oh and Steve Bennett was the referee in a Wigan match last night Rafa. Don't know if you were watching, but would be great to hear about how biased he was towards United.

:LMAO:

How can you be shit up front without Rooney though? Tevez is in great form (when he's played)?

He really isn't, apart from the League Cup, hes not scoring at all when he's played.

But Rooney just affects the team all over, he's that good, and we just don't really win when he doesn't play.
