Manchester United Thread

Disallowed goals aren't a part of this ongoing "Respect" campaign that the FA keep bleating about, yet choose to ignore when they want it to, or when it suits them.

@ DagsJT - I was shocked he got away with his tirade against Botswinga. But he was later booked for a relatively meek challenge so probably balanced out. As for the linesman rant - wouldn't you be pretty pissed off is somethign you'd worked at in training, planned for the match, and executed to perfection in the rules of hte game was ruled out because a linseman was dimwitted? And Giggs and Fletcher also went off on him, don't notice you chastising them here.

I guess with such a good weekend you'd need something to have a dig at. Why don't you follow Benitez's example and begin to question David Gill's role at the FA? Because none of the other big teams have had their representatives in his position.

Bottom line is you're still top of the league. Start acting like it.

Hahahaha...true enough beachryan. Its a wierd position with them till they dont know what to do with it!

I knew we would really have a go at Chelski.Fletch and Giggs were awesome, young Evans held up pretty well against the Drog and Park gave his usual 200% performance.

We deserved to win but 3 goals really painted shame all over them.

The real test imo is how we play against Wigan. Our biggest issue this season has been inconsistency, and given that we're almost guaranteed to play a completely different midfield on Wednesday, it'll be telling if we don't get the 3 points. In the end, if Pool end up being the main rivals for the league, a win over Chelsea and a win over Wigan are exactly the same. And we need both (and one at Bolton) if we want to get back up to where we belong.

So how did Rooney get away with telling the ref to fuck off, walking away, having a go at the ref again, then telling him to fuck off as he walked away?

And his tantrum at the corner flag?

Respect campaign eh? Yep, the FA have it all under control

are these fakhs or just your opinion?

the most important thing is that its in our hands now...

we have 21 points to play for before the CL starts up again..

compared to chelsea and lfcs 15 points..

SAF played a blinder!

Maybe Rafa needs a mental check up:

"The situation now is we are at the top of the table and they were saying Liverpool is not a threat,".

"Now they know we are a threat, they have started playing mind games. But I don't think it's a mind game when you already have control over everything; it's a mind game when you are on the same level as the other people and you can show you are cleverer than the others. But when you have control of everything and your chief executive is in the FA and things like this, then that is not mind games."

Asked if Gill's position represented a conflict of interest, Benítez added: "It's another fact. It is a fact that one person who has a lot of power and control and is on a lot of committees is in the FA."

Poor bloke...

a rare quality piece from the sun:

Chelsea's preparations for their match against Manchester United were disrupted in the early hours of Sunday morning by a fire alarm reportedly started by Argentina legend Diego Maradona's cigar.

Luiz Felipe Scolari's side had to evacuate the Radisson Edwardian Hotel in Manchester after alarms sounded at seven o'clock, and players were spotted standing outside in freezing conditions, some wearing just towels and bathrobes.

An eyewitness told The Sun: "I saw most of Chelsea outside shivering. It wasn't the best preparation for a vital game."

Greater Manchester Fire Service said they could not reveal what caused the alarm, a fireman said that Maradona and his associates were to blame.

"It looks as though it was set off by Diego and his entourage smoking cigars on the 14th floor," the fireman told The Sun.

Two fire trucks came to the hotel but they discovered no fire in the 263-room hotel.

Hotel manager Steve Miles said: "We followed procedure. It was a genuine alarm."

Nice one Diego!

Yeah, I knew that. Just wondering... With Fash in your name, being into pro evo and your wit, I was wondering if your name is Mike?

nah my names bobby...

I've just cracked The Benitez Code...

If you loop the audio backwards thru Itunes(?)

he's saying..

"He escrito una lista de excusas de por qué no puedo ganar la liga."

Now he has one more reason to feed his earth to mars sized ego... he will just keep on diving and score some lonely goals to cover his huge paycheck. GG ronaldo.

As long as he's winning us silverware, I dont think anyone here cares about his ego. How many Chelsea fans hated Jose?

Lol? they had? if so their stupid as hell, the guy gave them trophies they did not win for years, gave them world records, created an excellent team filled with teamwork and results and so on, now they SHOULD be really mad, but about Scolari, right now that he is ruining what Mourinho helped to build.

No one at Chelsea hated Chelsea. What I am saying is that Chelsea fans don't care what other fans think of Mourinho and its the same with Man Utd fans and Ronaldo.
People can says what they want about Ronaldo's ego or his diving antics or whatever. The fact still remains that he's one hell of a great player and he has plenty of team and individual medals to back him up.

It's weird though isn't it - that he's actually cultivating the 'hate' side. Bizarre. Not many players have been as despised as he is down the years, and even fewer that are that good. Interesting psychology there...

Oh and that he's in his own commercial, 'disguised'. erm.

Congrats to Cristiano Ronaldo on his top gong...

however, losing Evra for nearly a month is a big blow...darn it..maybe we should give Fabio a chance now cause I had enough of O'Shea already.

Completely agree. The way we're set up means we really rely on Evra's pace, dribbling and penetration. With O'Shea you get absolutely none of that. And in games where teams are going to park the bus, we might be in trouble.

Is Fabio even fit yet?
