Manchester United Thread

Well he started at Royal Antwerp, our feeder club, and Ole's assistant for the youth team is their former manager or something so I imagine he's recommended him.

When will we find out about Vida's rec card in japan?

Someone told me kaladze got sent off at the last World Club Cup and didnt receive a ban for any subsequent euro games

Yeah but he played for one of those nice European clubs in one of those nice European leagues. Not like the savages in England.

Am sure they'll find time to ban Vida before the match. Maybe the night before, that'd screw with us the most...

I thought it was confirmed he would miss the 1st leg for sure and might miss the 2nd and the first of game of the quarters if we got through.

thats bullshit if theres a precedent, oh well. evans is a pretty good replacement in all honesty although he hasnt played against anybody like ibrahimovich yet.

The way we're playing at the moment, I'd be worried if we were playing someone shit, nevermind Inter.
If we can beat Chelsea this weekend, hopefully it will give us a bit of a kick start. I read somewhere (maybe FB365) that people in Manchester aren't worried about the Scousers because they'll fuck up. I for one don't think they will. We're going to have to catch and overtake them by putting teams away better than we have been doing.

On silly Benitez's comments about Fergie getting the upper hand on fixtures

Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Yes Im sure Sir Alex chose that his own team would have away games straight after 6 CL games.

What a cnut Benitez is!

Exactly, Fergie's just come back from a touchline ban for having a go at the officials too, Knobend fat bouncer Max from Phoenix nights should stick to serving up shite paella and cheap rioja.

it wasnt like that, it was actually pretty clever.

he said and im paraphrasing "we can do it the spanish way where the fixtures are laid out in front of us so no one can complain or mr ferguson can prepare them in his office and there will be no problems."

it was just a sarcastic crack at ferguson.

Yeah you've misread that bit Metallica.

"One is the same as in Spain, the draw for the first part of the league is known, everyone knows which weekend. In the second-half everyone plays the opposite, so you all know.

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple.

He was being sarcastic.

I can just imagine Fergie having a wry smirk on his face around about now.

And a doubly wry smirk when we beat them at Old Trafford.

Mourinho and Wenger were at least worth rising to the challenge because they're clever tacticians and good managers, but Rafa the (fat waiter) Gaffer?

Liverpool won't last, It takes more then playing well to win the league and the pressure will get to them. Its only Jan and Benitez is cracking under the pressure.

I said it before but Feb will shape the season.

Well I think most people associated with united will be laughing their collective bollocks off tonight....

rafa looked liked a complete knob yesterday, contridicted things he has said in the past and put even more pressure on his team...

and that was before a ball was kicked...

a 0-0 @ stoke (who they couldnt beat @ anfield) and now only 9 points in front of us...

maybe the scousers have been right for the past 5 years, rafa is the master tactician...

Rooney on chelsea game:

"You could definitely tell it was still on their minds and I am sure it will be the case again tomorrow - I bet our fans will be reminding them."

oh yes, Mister Penalty has a special place in our hearts, and we will let him know it..

although I think "fat kevin keegan, ya just a fat kevin keegan" will quickly become an Old Trafford favourite!

I'd wait until tomorrow before you start celebrating.

only 9 points?

These 'games' in hand are chips on ones shoulders.

Even if we lose tommorow it wont be that bad. You lot had a chance to get away, you couldnt take it in the process making your manager look like a idiot. :))

As long as it isn't a draw today it will be a good result. Either we get closer to Liver**** or Chelsea do. One of us has to stop them.

Somehow I feel our boys will be fired up for tonight.Liverpoo's result was a bonus and it should lift the players and they should see that we would top the league if we win all our games in hand.

2 nil to us at Old Trafford should send out a warning that we are taking control of business.

Well these games are always high pressure, as they are between two sides who are fighting for the title so despite Rafa's comments, nothing's changed there. Maru's right though, we don't have a good record against them, but saying that our home record is fantastic to be fair so we shouldn't fear them. It's hard to call, I'll go for a draw but I'd love a win. Setting off for OT in 2 hours! :D

Yep I reckon the lads will be up for it aswell. Still cant decide wether we'll go 4-4-2 or 4-3-3. Berba needs a big game today.

I think our midfield will be the most important thing. They are pretty powerful there. Is Fletcher fit? If not, I can see Carrick and Park.

I think it'll be Ronaldo, Carrick, Fletch, Park, Rooney & Berba as the front 6.

Hopefully Rio's back won't give him any gip as well.
