Manchester United Thread

I think SAF said Anderson wouldnt get back till Sunday, so canny see him playing monday..

get him fit for the supercup!

pissed off that hargreaves wont make the monday game..

this leaves us short but im not worried..

we know there are alot of good players to come back into the team!

I thought they were saying on Sky Sports News last night that Hargo might be fit for the Portsmouth game?
Hopefully we'll have gotten our new striker by then (rumours today are that we've bid for Huntelaar), though I'd be happy if we stuck by Campbell.

Just seen on Kitbag that our *new* 3rd kit is being launched on 16th September: http://www.kitbag.com/stores/kitbag_4_5/products/kit_selector.aspx?selector=245

Does anyone know if it's the blue one that was on the New Kits thread - similar to the '68 strip when we won the CL?

Yeah it is, plain blue with the old school badge inside the shirt and some wording about the anniversary around the badge.

Thanks fella.

It's a shame we're disowning the black kit after one year. I thought it was one of our best kits for quite a while...

There is a wild rumour spraying around that David Moyes could be join us and be Sir Alex's No.2...eventually succeding him when he retires.Moyes could also drag Yakubu along as Sir Alex views the nigerian as a proven goalscorer.

The Yak is alright, not sure if he has the awareness and vision to fit into our front 4, but is pacy and a quality player. Moyes would be an absolutely awesome number 2, i have nothing but respect about what he's done at Everton, with virtually no resources.

That said, he lacks hte language aspect Fergie spoke, and seems defensive minded.

Who knows. This summer sucks.

unno if you seen it but you have now anyway

I liked the black one the best cuz it made us look more cooler and aggressive but that new blue one is lovely.

Apparently yes,Silvestre has jumpshipped to the Arse, which is a shame. He would be a solid backup for Evra but I guess,Sir Alex has faith in the Brasilian Twins.Mikael was a good servant to the club and the fans, won lots of titles and left with good consent.Wishing you all the best Mikael Silvestre.

I would have more suprised if he gone to City (apparently he was having a medical when Arsenal came calling).
He was a good player for us, even he if was prone to a lapse in concentration at least once a game! Shame he didn't stay one more year and get his testimonial...

What is Silly/Fergie thinking? I'm fine with letting Silly leave, though would have been nice to have a testamonial, but you don't sell to a rival, ever! Even if Fergie has the view that O'Shea and Da Silva are Evra's backups, and Evans if the CB backup, I just don't get why you'd offload him, unless he was really unhappy.

Random.

I'm not bothered, tbh. We've got more than enough cover at the back. Plus, Silvestre's best days were when he use to bomb down the left side and provide crosses for our strikers. Now he's become too prone to mistakes and lost most of his pace.

Silvestre At Arsenal:

- More chances for first team football
- French speaking squad
- London = hotter women?

My last great memory of Silvestre was actually his cross to Rooney against L'arse, but since then I dunno. Seemed great cover though - international, versatile, pretty quick and strong in the air. Am surprised we let him go. He must have made his case to Fergie: Look i'm getting up there, I want regular football, i see the youth here and i'm not going to get it. Ferge: Alright son, you've put in a great shift here, I'll always appreciate that. Dear Mr. Levy that's how that should work with a player you respect and has served your club well.

In 2002/2003 his partnership with Rio was integral to winning us the title I thought.

But since then he's too prone to having a crap match and making a couple of mistakes.

Been an excellent servant, but its probably a good time to let him go now.

Same sentiments about Mikael,beachryan...he would have been a great cover for Patrice, could cover our first choice centrebacks as well...too bad lads...hes Goon now.Sic.

Wait til you see Wenger will convert him to a striker now playing off Adebayor, he'll move Walcott to center back and Almunia into the defensive midfield slot alongside Eboue with Fabregas in goals.
