SAF said that he'll be phasing Giggs & Scholes out a bit this season, so they'll prob only play 25 games with Nani & Anderson getting more game time. I'd like to see Anderson in a more attacking role as well.

I don't know if Manucho has his work permit yet, though he should hopefully feature in the friendly games. The twins are still quite young, so I don't know if they'll play or play a season in the reserves?

As for Kerlon ("the Seal"), the last I heard was a rumour last season that Middlesbrough were looking at him...!

I think he will. He would have gone by now if he was going.
Madrid have quitened down as well, saying that won't pay silly money for him. If he does go I reckon it'll be when SAF retires.

The Ronaldo story is slowly dieing down yet im more worried about losing the other Portuguese, If he does take the Portugal job i'd love for us to give Eric the number 2 spot.

Eric would make a better coach, not a number two. In terms of tactics, what does he have to offer?

Not too bad though as he was useless last year. Brian McClair would have been better. I think we're going to have some news in the next week.

Meh, im bored of the whole transfer summer, :( partly because as european champions if im honest we could really go into next season with the exact same group. :))

I for one love when my team keeps all of their main players, it usually means better footie the next year.

That was thee point i was trying to make, we dont need changes so there wont hardley be any, just saying that all it does is make it a waiting game.

Chaps I know we all want a striker - a quick, off the shoulder, in behind, cutting edge finsher - and according to MEN the 3 targets are hunterlaar, berbatov and benzema.

I cant see benzema coming (too expensive, happy at lyon), berba is overpriced for his age and the hunter - i quite like, but not sure if a goal hanger with no pace is what we are after. we are all about quick, sharp, attacking play. this brings me to one man....

...he's available, probably for around 25m max, proven world class, in his prime..27, would jump at the chance of playing for us...and has played both the exact positions we are aquiring him for (main man in 442, point of a 443) and would be a fantastic statment of intent...

25m max? More like 35m max. He can be a problem in the dressing room and would never take the bench.

I guess its true what Milanista says...Etoo brings a bag of character and ego with him everywhere he goes.Great on the pitch but a potential harmony disruptor off it.

i agree he has a problem - but his whole issue at barca was the fact he had a problem with ronaldinho and deco for not being professional enough. thats where the divide in the camp originated...

deco to chelsea for 10m, ronaldinho available for 20m transfer fee....barca would not expect 35m...£25m trades i reckon.

he would only be on the bench to rest, he is starter. but surely thats what we want...top tier, world class footballers. u reckon berbatov will be happy on the bench?? no chance.

I figured Eto'o would be a good option for us. Must be something more to it that we're not seeing. I get the impression we would have signed our 1 new player already if we could, but something is holding us back, potentially CR7 sale, or perhaps something to do with the selling team.

A premiership club has bid £19m for Arshavin. Wouldn't have thought it was us, but can't really work out who it was. Chelsea don't need him despite the Russian connection, and Arsenal/Pool can't afford him.

Personally going for Arshavin for us would be a bit pointless, we have players in that position in abundance, Ronaldo,Nani,Rooney,Anderson and even Giggs can play that role. I've been saying for ages i would love for us to sign Eto'o but it seems like he's got a ego on him, surely it isnt THAT bad! and it could be controlled by someone like SAF.

I reckon Arshavin could be either Newcastle or City. Maybe Everton after selling Johnson.
We don't need to spend so much on a striker as 25-30 million. We could get a half decent one and he'd still get 20-25 goals a season with the amount of chances we make. We just need someone who'll stay fit.
