Manchester United Thread

What a video, at 4.45, that's great teasing!
One of, if not the best comp video I'v seen!

Now I remember why I called him shit.

That miss against Middlesbrough! Sell Him!

But seriously, half the time, defenders should give up when hes going for them, you don't stop him. Here's hoping he shows up on Wednesday.

Great song as well.

F....E....A....R

What a song that is. Based of a song the European clubs sing isn't it?

VIVA RONALDO!
VIVA RONALDOOOO!
RUNNIN' DOWN THE WING!
HEAR UNITED SING!
VIVA RONALDO!

News just out..Ronaldo said that he will stay on with us as long as Sir Alex is in charge.Thats a good two seasons more at the very least.Best news so far after our league truimph.

Does anyone has a track of how many awards Ronaldo has won so far in this season?

Great interview.I am sure many agree that Vida is one of the hardest players we have now.He reminds me so much of Jaap Stam except for that bit of pace.Big Jaap had exceptional pace for such a big fella.Overall,I would want to agree that Vidic is a better player than Stam. Our backline never looked as solid if Vidic wasnt playing and that says a lot about how important he is to the team.Whoever spotted him before he signed for us did a superb job and should do it more often!

VIVA RONALDOOO!
Good news about him staying aslong as SAF is at the club, he is amazing when he is on top form, he probably is a overall better player this season but for me last season he was great with dribbling from deep and creating space, doesn't do that as much know as he likes to be more uptop, heres hoping for Cristiano to make it 42 for the season on Wednesday!:)

Can someone give me a low-down of Aaron Ramsey?...sounds like a hot prospect to me...

Very, very talented Welsh player. Only 17. Has all the tools in the box. Pace, power, excellent vision, good tackling. Ferguson could turn him into any type of player he wants. A 'No. 10', a deep lying playmaker, a box to box midfielder, a holding midfielder, attacking right back, anything.

a funny a stumbled across:

Thanks Bhai...interesting mix in a player..kinda like your Stevie G eyy?

Does anybody realise,if we put aside Giggs,Scholes and Neville...our squad looks kinda thin?

One name that keeps popping up is Miguel Veloso...question is,do we really need a player of his type?

Daniel Alves would really add another dimension to our attack from the right! Hope the transfer could materialise.

Can Alves defend?

He can, and pretty well. It's just a myth that he can't.

The problem with him playing at Sevilla is, that he's their playmaker. Which is why he has to move forward. More often than not, he manages to recover back, due to his speed and godly stamina (I swear to god, Alves takes drugs). But when he does get caught out, there's no cover for him, and that's Sevilla's fault, as you need to give your most creative player cover on defense. Generally though, he's pretty good. He's fast, he's strong in the tackle, and good in the air. Pretty strong as well, considering his size.

Alves is just world class through and through. One of the few players that makes me go 'Wow' every bloody time I see him. Got something like 15 assists this season, and he's been under performing this year. Absolutely immense player. MOTM in every Sevilla game.

Still rue the fact that we could have got him for 10M in 2006, but Moores was skint.

Hrm, I hope Ramsey comes to United - if for no other reason than I still like to see us as the 'british isles' team of choice for exceptional talent.

Alves is awesome, but a diving git sometimes. Not sure about his defense, that's some of the first good things I've heard on that topic. But we do need a rihgt back, and with Lahm extending his contract, hutton gone I really don't know who else is out there. He's just so damn expensive!

:DD I cant see us starting with a trio of Tevez, Ron and Roon. he hasnt done it before. if all 3 are to start it will be in a 4-4-2. dunno how you missed out Park from the 18, he's been immense. at mininmum he'll be on the bench.

I forgot about him - oops! I'd swap him for Fletcher then.

The thing is, do we treat this as a European game, or a league game?
"The Holy Trinity" have been vital when playing together. You can't fault 'Jason' Park's work rate, but for me Tevez's link up play is better, and he's a bit tougher to knock off the ball.

I'd expect Chelsea to play like this:
---------------Cech
Essien Carvalho Terry A.Cole
---------Makelele Mikel
-----Ballack Lampard J.Cole
--------------Drogba

I think our biggest problem is where to play Ronaldo. If he plays on the right, Ashley Cole usually does a good job of keeping him quiet. Up front he can expose Terry's lack of pace, but then you lose his wingplay.

I'd like to see Anderson start, but that might unsettle the Carrick & Scholes balance. Do you go for hustle & bustle, or clinical passing?

Looks like Moscow are actually prepared for the fans compared to Manchester. A couple of hundred portaloos in the fanzone compared with the 30 Manchester provided.
